The distinction and precise identification of tumor nodules are crucial for timely lung cancer diagnosis andplanning intervention. This research work addresses the major issues pertaining to the field of medical imageprocessing while focusing on lung cancer Computed Tomography (CT) images. In this context, the paper proposesan improved lung cancer segmentation technique based on the strengths of nature-inspired approaches. Thebetter resolution of CT is exploited to distinguish healthy subjects from those who have lung cancer. In thisprocess, the visual challenges of the K-means are addressed with the integration of four nature-inspired swarmintelligent techniques. The techniques experimented in this paper are K-means with Artificial Bee Colony (ABC),K-means with Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA), K-means with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Kmeanswith Firefly Algorithm (FFA). The testing and evaluation are performed on Early Lung Cancer ActionProgram (ELCAP) database. The simulation analysis is performed using lung cancer images set against metrics:precision, sensitivity, specificity, f-measure, accuracy,Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Jaccard, and *** detailed evaluation shows that the K-means with Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA) significantly improved thequality of lung cancer segmentation in comparison to the other optimization approaches utilized for lung cancerimages. The results exhibit that the proposed approach (K-means with CSA) achieves precision, sensitivity, and Fmeasureof 0.942, 0.964, and 0.953, respectively, and an average accuracy of 93%. The experimental results prove thatK-meanswithABC,K-meanswith PSO,K-meanswith FFA, andK-meanswithCSAhave achieved an improvementof 10.8%, 13.38%, 13.93%, and 15.7%, respectively, for accuracy measure in comparison to K-means segmentationfor lung cancer images. Over the last few years,there is huge scientific attention towards the research related to Extracellular Vesicles(EVs),because of their unique property of inter cellular communications and effective biological significance in diagnosis and therapy[1].Extracellular Vesicles are lipid bilayer membrane bound biological entity,which contains different bioactive compounds(cargoes)such as microRNAs(miRNAs),mRNAs,proteins,and *** on their origin and size,EVs have been categorized into three different types(a)Exosomes(40 nm-150 nm)are smallest EVs,which are synthesized by endocytic pathways in the cells and secreted in extracellular space through exocytosis process,(b)Microvesicles are secreted from direct budding off plasma membranes and their size varying from 50 nm to 1000 nm and,(c)Apoptotic bodies are formed during apoptotic cell death process and respectively larger in size>1000 nm[1-3].EVs have been identified using different markers,that includes tetraspanins proteins(CD9,CD63,CD81,and CD83),endosomal sorting complexes required for transport(TSG101,Alix),heat shock proteins(Hsp60,Hsp70,Hsp90),and Rab proteins(RAB27a/b)[1].

Nanoparticles with non-spherical shapes are now being widely used for various photonic *** observe experimentally that the magnitude as well as the time dependence of the transient absorption of a colloid of silver nanoplatelets depends on the relative polarization of the pump and probe *** have been a few reports about the dependence of the transient signal magnitude on polarization,but little information is available on its temporal *** a theoretical model,we show that this observed behavior arises from the fact that the energy absorption by a non-spherical nanoparticle depends on,among other factors,the nanoparticle orientation with respect to the pump and probe polarization *** is essential to consider this when estimating nanoparticle characteristics such as carrier thermalization time,carrier–phonon scattering time,and complex polarizability from transient absorption measurements.

Objective:The purpose of the study was to evaluate listening effort in adults who experience varied annoyance towards *** and methods:Fifty native Kannada-speaking adults aged 41e68 years *** evaluated the participant's acceptable noise level while listening to ***,a sentence-final wordidentification and recall test at 0 dB SNR(less favorable condition)and 4 dB SNR(relatively favorable condition)was used to assess listening *** repeat and recall scores were obtained for each ***:The regression model revealed that the listening effort increased by 0.6%at 0 dB SNR and by 0.5%at 4 dB SNR with every one-year advancement in *** effort increased by 0.9%at 0 dB SNR and by 0.7%at 4 dB SNR with every one dB change in the value of Acceptable Noise Level(ANL).At 0 dB SNR and 4 dB SNR,a moderate and mild negative correlation was noted respectively between listening effort and annoyance towards noise when the factor age was ***:Listening effort increases with age,and its effect is more in less favorable than in relatively favorable ***,if the annoyance towards noise was controlled,the impact of age on listening effort was *** effort correlated with the level of annoyance once the age effect was ***,the listening effort was predicted from the ANL to a moderate degree.

This paper deals with the fatigue crack growth simulations of three-dimensional linear elastic cracks by XFEM under cyclic thermal load. Both temperature and displacement approximations are extrinsically enriched by Heaviside and crack front enrichment functions. Crack growth is modelled by successive linear extensions, and the end points of these linear extensions are joined by cubic spline segments to obtain a modified crack front. Different crack geometries such as planer, non-planer and arbitrary spline shape cracks are simulated under thermal shock, adiabatic and isothermal loads to reveal the sturdiness and versatility of the XFEM approach.

Objective:To study the potential role of subjective visual vertical(SVV)as a prognostic marker for canalith repositioning maneuver(CRM)in patients with posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(PC-BPPV)for the Indian ***:SVV was examined in 30 patients with PC-BPPV before and after canalith repositioning maneuver and after complete resolution of *** parameters included the mean of 10 angular tilt readings and direction of deviation,which were compared before and after CRM and following complete resolution of ***:The angle of SVV tilt was greater and deviated towards the affected ear before CRM in all patients,which decreased significantly shortly after CRM and continued to decrease after complete resolution of PC-BPPV(p<0.0001).Conclusions:SVV can be used to test utricular dysfunction in *** angle of tilt improves in response to CRM,which may be used as a prognostic marker in patients with PC-BPPV receiving CRM.

Rabies is a zoonotic disease that affects the central nervous system(CNS)of humans with an extremely high mortality *** disease is transmitted to humans through the bite of rabid animals,usually ***-exposure prophylaxis(PEP)is recommended for all rabid animal *** delayed or missed there is a very high chance of developing the disease which is almost always *** 55000 human rabies-related deaths are reported due to delayed or deferred rabies PEP in the world annually[1].The public usually ignores earlier indicators of rabies and is unwilling to consult a doctor,to avoid contracting COVID-19 during hospital visit[2].We present a case of human rabies infection due to non-compliant PEP amid the COVID-19 pandemic following a rabid dog bite.
