Segmented Au/PtCo heterojunction nanowires for efficient formic acid oxidation catalysis

Exploring a new strategy for the removal of adsorbed CO (CO^(*)) on a Pt surface at a low potential is the key to achieving enhanced catalysis for the formic acid oxidation reaction (FAOR);however, the development of such a strategy remains a significant challenge. Herein, we report a class of Au/PtCo heterojunction nanowires (HNWs) as efficient electrocatalysts for accelerating the FAOR. This heterojunction structure and the induced Co alloying effects can facilitate formic acid adsorption/activation on Pt with high CO tolerance, generating the FAOR pathway from dehydration to dehydrogenation. The optimized Au_(23)/Pt_(63)Co_(14) HNWs showed the highest specific and mass activities of 11.7 mA cm^(−2)Pt and 6.42 A mg^(−1)Pt reported to date, respectively, which are considerably higher than those of commercial Pt/C. DFT calculations confirmed that the electron-rich Au segment enhances the electronic activity of the PtCo NWs, which not only allows the construction of a highly efficient electron transfer channel for the FAOR but also suppresses CO formation.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an important health issue in Taiwan. There were over ten thousand newly diagnosed CRC patients each year. The outcome of late stage CRC still remains to be improved, and tumor markers are expected to improve CRC detection and management. From a colorectal cancer cell secretome database, we chose four proteins as candidates for clinical verification, including tumor-associated calcium signal transducer 2 (TROP2, TACSTD2), transmembrane 9 superfamily member 2 (TM9SF2), and tetraspanin-6 (TSPAN6), and tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16 (NGFR). Different groups of 30 CRC patients’ tissue samples collected from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital were analyzed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for the four proteins, and the results were scored by pathologist. For all the four candidate proteins, marked differences of IHC score existed between tumor and adjacent non-tumor counterpart. However, there were only trends between higher protein expression levels and worse outcome. Three proteins (TROP2, TM9SF2 and NGFR) had trends between higher tissue expression and tumor stage or lymph node metastasis. Our study revealed that tissue expression of four proteins (TROP2, TM9SF2, TSPAN6, and NGFR) was markedly different between tumor and adjacent non-tumor counterparts. Overexpression of all these four proteins showed some trends with poorer survival.

运用人工授精方法,进行海南沼虾(♀)×日本沼虾(♂)杂交试验,获得了可育的F1代杂种,并对F1代及其双亲进行了RAPD分析。共进行6批杂交试验,4批抱卵,3批获得杂交虾,成活率分别为30%,48%,64%。形态上,F1代兼有双亲特征,但偏向父本。RAPD扩增结果显示,海南沼虾和日本沼虾的扩增带型存在显著的差异,F1杂种兼有双亲的特征带,父、母本之间的遗传距离为0.785 6,父本与F1的遗传距离为0.410 9,母本与F1的遗传距离为0.423 8。从分子水平确认了日本沼虾(♀)和海南沼虾(♂)种间杂交的成功,并为进一步寻找经济性状相关分子标记提供了条件。

AIM:To investigate whether screening for gallstone disease was economically feasible and clinically ***:This clinical study was initially conducted in2002 in Taipei,*** study cohort total included2386 healthy adults who were voluntarily admitted to a regional teaching hospital for a physical *** follow-up screening with ultrasound sonography for gallstone disease continued until December 31,2007.A decision analysis using the Markov Decision Model was constructed to compare different screening regimes for gallstone *** economic evaluation included estimates of both the cost-effectiveness and cost-utility of screening for gallstone ***:Direct costs included the cost of screening,regular clinical fees,laparoscopic cholecystectomy,and *** costs represent the loss of productivity attributable to the patient’s disease state,and were estimated using the gross domestic product for 2011 in *** time intervals in screening for gallstone disease were associated with the reduced efficacy and utility of screening and with increased *** cost per life-year gained(average cost-effectiveness ratio)for annual screening,biennial screening,3-year screening,4-year screening,5-year screening,and no-screening was new Taiwan dollars(NTD)39076,NTD 58059,NTD 72168,NTD 104488,NTD 126941,and NTD 197473,respectively(P<0.05).The cost per quality-adjusted life-year gained by annual screening was NTD 40725;biennial screening,NTD64868;3-year screening,NTD 84532;4-year screening,NTD 110962;5-year screening,NTD 142053;and for the control group,NTD 202979(P<0.05).The threshold values indicated that the ultrasound sonography screening programs were highly sensitive to screening costs in a plausible ***:Routine screening regime for gallstone disease is both medically and economically *** screening for gallstone disease should be recommended.

研究苯胺柱前衍生寡糖混合物麦芽糊精的高效液相色谱-电喷雾质谱分析方法。优化色谱及质谱分析的条件,采用反相C18色谱柱(4.6mm×250mm,5μm);乙腈和乙酸铵溶液(pH4.5、10mmol/L)为流动相进行梯度洗脱;在239nm波长处检测,并采用高效液相色谱-电喷雾质谱联用技术对寡糖衍生物进行分析,建立苯胺衍生寡糖的高效液相色谱(HPLC)分离分析、电喷雾质谱(ESI-MS)及液相色谱-电喷雾质谱联用(LC-ESI-MS)组分分析方法。在液质联用条件下,麦芽糊精衍生物分离效果良好。该方法衍生化产物稳定,后处理简单,在食品体系寡糖混合物分离分析方面有潜在的应用前景。
