BACKGROUND Endoscopic papillectomy(EP) for benign ampullary neoplasms could be a lessinvasive alternative to pancreatoduodenectomy(PD). There are some problems and limitations with EP. The post-EP resection margins of ampullary tumors are often positive or uncertain because of the burning effect of EP. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP remain *** To investigate the clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after *** Between January 2007 and October 2018, all patients with ampullary tumors who underwent EP at Kobe University Hospital were included in this study. The indications for EP were as follows: adenoma, as determined by preoperative endoscopic biopsy, without bile/pancreatic duct extension, according to endoscopic ultrasound or intraductal ultrasound. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP were retrospectively *** Of the 45 patients, 29 were male, and 16 were female. The mean age of the patients was 65 years old. Forty-one patients(89.5%) underwent en bloc resection,and 4 patients(10.5%) underwent piecemeal resection. After EP, 33 tumors were histopathologically diagnosed as adenoma, and 12 were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma. The resected margins were positive or uncertain in 24 patients(53.3%). Of these cases, 15 and 9 were diagnosed as adenoma and adenocarcinoma, respectively. Follow-up observation was selected for all adenomas and 5 adenocarcinomas. In the remaining 4 adenocarcinoma cases,additional PD was performed. Additional PD was performed in 4 cases, and residual carcinoma was found after the additional PD in 1 of these cases. In the follow-up period, local tumor recurrence was detected in 3 cases. Two of these cases involved primary EP-diagnosed adenoma. The recurrent tumors were also adenomas detected by biopsy. Knowledge in thermal and electric transport through grain boundary(GB)is crucial for designing nanostructured thermoelectric materials,where the transport greatly depends on GB atomistic *** this work,we employ machine learning(ML)techniques to study the relationship between silicon GB structure and its thermal and electric boundary conductance(TBC and EBC)calculated by Green’s function *** present a robust ML prediction model of TBC covering crystalline–crystalline and crystalline–amorphous interfaces,using disorder descriptors and atomic *** also construct high-accuracy ML models for predicting both TBC and EBC and their ratio,using only small data of crystalline *** found that the variations of interatomic angles and distance at GB are the most predictive descriptors for TBC and EBC,*** results demonstrate the robustness of the black-box model and open the way to decouple thermal and electrical conductance,which is a key physical problem with engineering needs.

In order to clarify the unsteady flow fields at low flow-rate region with positive gradient on pressure-flow-rate curve,the experimental investigation was carried out at rotor inlet and outside of rotor blade tip without casing in a semi-opened propeller fan using a hot-wire anemometer.A single I-type hot-wire probe was used,and the data obtained were processed by the use of phase-locked averaging,ensemble averaging and FFT *** flow fields at rotor inlet and outside of rotor blade tip were discussed mainly using the results from distributions of velocity fluctuations and power spectrum *** was found from these results that there are the two types of different periodical fluctuations and both of those frequencies were not the same of rotor rotating frequency(RRF;15Hz).One was observed at relatively high flow-rate region at relatively downstream area in measurement and its frequency was approximately 7Hz(47% of RRF).The other was observed at relatively low flow-rate region at relatively upstream area in measurement and its frequency was approximately 10Hz(67% of RRF)".As the velocity fluctuations with the flow fields are rapidly increased by the former fluctuation,it is thought that its fluctuation is the trigger of blade stall.

In order to examine the fundamental characteristics of corner separation in a decelerating cascade flow,the experimental apparatus was made and separations around a NACA65 blade in a decelerating channel flow were ***-dimensional calculations show that the NACA65 cascade flow that has 45 *** turning,1.24 of solidity and 17 *** stagger angle is equivalent to the channel flow that has 14 *** stagger angle in terms of pitchwise blade *** investigation by five-hole probe shows that the accumulations of low energy fluid can be seen around the corner part and the overturning flow due to the secondary flow ***,as the periodicity of the blade wake in a pitchwise direction is comparably good,the wake of this channel flow is similar to the wake of the cascade flow for two pitch *** measurement results shows that a vortex pattern can be seen in the momentary streamline on the suction surface of the blade and in the averaged streamline on the perpendicular to both the suction surface and the endwall.

In order to clarify the natures of a rotating stall cell, the experimental investigation was carried out in a high specific-speed diagonal flow fan. The pressure field on the casing wall and the velocity fields at the rotor inlet and outlet were measured under rotating stall condition with a fast response pressure transducer and a single slant hot-wire probe, respectively. The data were processed using the “Double Phase-Locked Averaging (DPLA)”technique, which enabled to obtain the unsteady flow field with a rotating stall cell in the relative co-ordinate system fixed to the rotor. As a result, the structure and behavior of the rotating stall cell in a high specific-speed diagonal flow fan were shown.
