The multistage triaxial compression test was mainly utilized in this research to investigate the degradation in the strength of swelling shale under different wetting *** samples were tested in four different conditions:(1)under their natural moisture content denoted as intact,and after soaking in,(2)water,(3)polymer solution,and(4)bentonite solution,*** experimental results showed that a considerable decrease in the shale’s strength was noted after soaking in water and the lubricant fluids(LFs).The polymer solution caused the least decrease in the strength compared to other *** envelopes of the tested shale were constructed for intact and soaked *** envelopes showed fair agreement between the single stage and the multistage triaxial compression test results,indicating suitability of the multistage triaxial compression test for the tested swelling shale.

The purpose of this study was to reveal how activated sludge communities respond to influent quality and indigenous communities by treating two produced waters from different origins in a batch reactor in succession. The community shift and compositions were investigated using Polymerase Chain Reaction–denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis（PCR–DGGE） and further16 S ribosomal DNA（r DNA） clone library analysis. The abundance of targeted genes for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon（PAH） degradation, nah Ac/phn Ac and C12O/C23 O, was tracked to define the metabolic ability of the in situ microbial community by Most Probable Number（MPN） PCR. The biosystem performed almost the same for treatment of both produced waters in terms of removals of chemical oxygen demand（COD） and PAHs. Sludge communities were closely associated with the respective influent bacterial communities（similarity 〉 60%）, while one sludge clone library was dominated by the Betaproteobacteria（38%） and Bacteriodetes（30%）and the other was dominated by Gammaproteobacteria（52%）. This suggested that different influent and water quality have an effect on sludge community compositions. In addition, the existence of catabolic genes in sludge was consistent with the potential for degradation of PAHs in the treatment of both produced waters.

Objectives:This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of otoacoustic emissions(OAEs)in idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss ***:The study included 30 subjects with unilateral idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss(ISSNHL).Each patient was evaluated four times:at baseline and after one week,one month,and three months of *** each visit,each patient was subjected to full audiological history,otoscopic examination,basic audiological evaluations,and transiently evoked and distortion product otoacoustic emission(TEOAEs&DEOAEs).Results:The hearing thresholds(frequency range 250e8000 Hz)and word recognition scores of patients with detectable TEOAEs and DPOAEs improved significantly,whereas no significant improvements were observed in those with no ***:Hearing improvement is better in patients with detectable TEOAEs and *** a result,TEOAEs and DPOAEs are recommended as routine tests in all SSNHL patients to predict outcomes and monitor treatment as TEOAEs and DPOAEs reflect the cochlear OHCs activity.

The research presented in this paper quantifies and models the impact of wet pavement surface and rainy weather conditions on driver perception-reaction times(PRTs),deceleration levels,and traffic signal change interval durations.A total of 648 stop-run records were collected as part of the research effort for a 72 km/h(45 mi/h)approach speed where participant drivers encountered a yellow indication initiation at different distances from the *** participant drivers were randomly selected in different age groups(under 40 years old,40 to 59 years old,and 60 years of age or older)and genders(female and male).Using the gathered data,statistical models for driver PRT and deceleration levels were developed,considering roadway surface and environmental parameters,driver attributes(age and gender),roadway grade,approaching speed,and time and distance to the intersection at the onset of *** weather yellow timings were then developed and summarized in lookup tables as a function of different factors(driver age/gender,roadway grade,speed limit,precipitation level,and roadway surface condition)to provide practical guidelines for the design of yellow signal timings in wet and rainy weather *** results indicate that wet roadway surface conditions require a 5 percent increase in the change interval and that rainy conditions require a 10 percent or more increase in the duration of the change *** recommended change durations can also be integrated within the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration(VII)initiative to provide customizable driver warnings prior to a transition to a red indication.

Oysters(Crassostrea gigas)have a wide range of functionality due to their nutritional and bioactive components. However, the bioactive peptides of oyster proteins are rarely reported, particularly their antidiabetes effects and antioxidants. Oyster proteins were extracted from fresh oysters using phosphatebuffered saline and simulated gastrointestinal digestion was performed. The degree of hydrolysis(DH), structural characterization, molecular weight(Mw)distribution, free amino acid, anti-diabetic activity, and antioxidant activity were studied during in vitro simulated gastrointestinal digestion. The results showed that the α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, α-amylase inhibitory activity, DPPH radical scavenging activity, and ABTS radical scavenging activity of the oyster protein gastrointestinal digest were increased(P ely. Additionally, the DH, β-turn structure, fluorescence intensity, free amino acid, and short peptide content(Mw < 1 000 Da)increased in the simulated gastrointestinal digestion. These results indicate that the digestive hydrolysates obtained from oyster proteins could be used as natural anti-diabetic and antioxidant agents.

We report on low-cost fabrication and high-energy density of full-cell lithium-ion battery （LIB） ***-hierarchical electrode architectures of Li2SiO3/TiO2@nano-carbon anode （***@nano-C） and high-voltage olivine LiMnPO4@nano-carbon cathode （LMPO@nano-C） are designed for half-and full-system LIB-CR2032 coin cell *** the basis of primary architecture-power-driven LIB geometrics,the structure keys including three-dimensional （3D） modeling superhierarchy,multiscale micro/nano architectures and anisotropic surface heterogeneity affect the buildup design of anode/cathode LIB *** hierarchical electrode surface topologies enable continuous in-/out-flow rates and fast transport pathways of Li+-ions during charge/discharge *** stacked layer configurations of pouch LIB-types lead to excellent charge/discharge rate,and energy density of237.6 Wh *** the most promising LIB-configurations,the high specific energy density of hierarchical pouch battery systems may improve energy storage for long-driving range of electric ***,the anisotropic alignments of hierarchical electrode architectures in the large-scale LIBs provide proof of excellent capacity storage and outstanding durability and *** full-system LIB-CR2032 coin cell models maintain high specific capacity of～89.8%within a long-term life period of2000 cycles,and average Coulombic efficiency of99.8%at 1C rate for future configuration of LIB manufacturing and commercialization challenges.

Recently,the path planning problem may be considered one of the most interesting researched topics in autonomous *** is why finding a safe path in a cluttered environment for a mobile robot is a significant requisite.A promising route planning for mobile robots on one side saves time and,on the other side,reduces the wear and tear on the robot,saving the capital *** route planning methods for the mobile robot have been developed and *** to our best knowledge,no method offers an optimum solution among the existing *** Swarm Optimization(PSO),a numerical optimization method based on the mobility of virtual particles in a multidimensional space,is considered one of the best algorithms for route planning under constantly changing environmental *** the researchers,reactive methods are increasingly common and extensively used for the training of neural networks in order to have efficient route planning for mobile *** paper proposes a PSO Weighted Grey Wolf Optimization(PSOWGWO)*** is a hybrid algorithm based on enhanced Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)with *** order to measure the statistical efficiency of the proposed algorithm,Wilcoxon rank-sum and ANOVA statistical tests are *** experimental results demonstrate a 25%to 45%enhancement in terms of Area Under Curve(AUC).Moreover,superior performance in terms of data size,path planning time,and accuracy is demonstrated over other state-of-the-art techniques.
