Solvent extraction and separation of light rare earth elements (La, Pr and Nd) in the presence of lactic acid as a complexing agent by Cyanex 272 in kerosene and the effect of citric acid,acetic acid and Titriplex Ⅲ as auxiliary agents

At present, the use of rare earth elements（REEs） has become an inevitable necessity in many modern industries. In general, liquid extraction is the best commercial method for extracting REEs due to its ability to control high volumes of liquids with electrical load. With the aim of improving a separation technology that would be superior to the existing extraction systems, the extraction behaviors of La（Ⅲ）,Pr（Ⅲ）, and Nd（Ⅲ） from an HCI medium with Cyanex 272 in the presence of the complexing agent lactic acid（HLac） and auxiliary agents citric acid（H3 Cit）, acetic acid（HAc）, and Titriplex Ⅲ have been *** effect of pH and lactic acid concentration has been examined. The use of lactic acid as a complexing agent leading to a high extraction of REEs with Cyanex 272 at pH = 5 was compared with systems without lactic acid. The results show that the use of acetic acid along with lactic acid leads to an increase in the extraction percentage of LREEs. While use of citric acid and Titriplex Ⅲ reduces the extraction percentage of LREEs. Finally, the presence of Titriplex Ⅲ together with lactic acid could lead to an increase in the separation factor of Pr and Nd.

The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction(CO2RR),driven by renewable energy,provides a potential carbon-neutral avenue to convert CO2 into valuable fuels and *** of CO2 into formic acid/formate is considered one of the economical and feasible methods,owing to their high energy densities,and ease of distribution and *** separation of formic acid/formate from the reaction mixtures accounts for the majority of the overall CO2RR process cost,while the increment of product concentration can lead to the reduction of separation cost,*** this paper,we give an overview of recent strategies for highly concentrated formic acid/formate products in ***2RR is a complex process with several different products,as it has different intermediates and reaction ***,this review focuses on recent study strategies that can enhance targeted formic acid/formate yield,such as the all-solid-state reactor design to deliver a high concentration of products during the reduction of CO2 in the ***,some novel electrolyzers are introduced as an engineering strategy to improve the concentration of the formic acid/formate and reduce the cost of downstream ***,the design of planar and gas diffusion electrodes(GDEs)with the potential to deliver high-concentration formic acid/formate in CO2RR is ***,the existing technological challenges are highlighted,and further research recommendations to achieve high-concentration products in *** review can provide some inspiration for future research to further improve the product concentration and economic benefits of CO2RR.

Effect of Gurney flap on flow separation and aerodynamic performance of an airfoil under rain and icing conditions

In the present study,special attention is paid to numerically investigate the aerodynamic performance of the NACA 0012 airfoil under rain and icing conditions with the aim to better understand the severe aerodynamic performance penalties of aircraft in ***,in order to control the flow separation and improve the aerodynamic performance of the airfoil under critical atmospheric conditions,the Gurney flap with different heights is attached to the trailing edge of the *** simulation is done at a Reynolds number of 3.1 × 105 under different atmospheric conditions including dry,rain,icing and coupling of rain and icing conditions.A two-way momentum coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian multiphase method is used to simulate the process of water film layer formed on the airfoil surface due to *** to the results,accumulation of water due to rainfall and ice accretion on the airfoil surface inevitably provides notable negative effects on the aerodynamic performance of the *** is concluded that icing induces a higher aerodynamic degradation than rain due to very intensive ice *** Gurney flap as a passive flow control method with a favorable height for each condition is very *** maximum increment of the lift-to-drag ratio is achieved by Gurney Hap with a height of 0.01 of airfoil chord length for dry and rain conditions and 0.02 of airfoil chord length for icing and coupling of rain and icing conditions,respectively.
