Unsupervised spectral feature selection algorithms for high dimensional data

It is a significant and challenging task to detect the informative features to carry out explainable analysis for high dimensional data,especially for those with very small number of *** selection especially the unsupervised ones are the right way to deal with this challenge and realize the ***,two unsupervised spectral feature selection algorithms are proposed in this *** group features using advanced Self-Tuning spectral clustering algorithm based on local standard deviation,so as to detect the global optimal feature clusters as far as *** two feature ranking techniques,including cosine-similarity-based feature ranking and entropy-based feature ranking,are proposed,so that the representative feature of each cluster can be detected to comprise the feature subset on which the explainable classification system will be *** effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is tested on high dimensional benchmark omics datasets and compared to peer methods,and the statistical test are conducted to determine whether or not the proposed spectral feature selection algorithms are significantly different from those of the peer *** extensive experiments demonstrate the proposed unsupervised spectral feature selection algorithms outperform the peer ones in comparison,especially the one based on cosine similarity feature ranking *** statistical test results show that the entropy feature ranking based spectral feature selection algorithm performs *** detected features demonstrate strong discriminative capabilities in downstream classifiers for omics data,such that the AI system built on them would be reliable and *** is especially significant in building transparent and trustworthy medical diagnostic systems from an interpretable AI perspective.

A Novel Theory: Measuring the Real-Time-Based Arterial Properties via Vascular Loading Decoupling Technique

This paper presents a decoupling theory named as Vascular Loading Decoupling Technique (VLDT), extended from the beat-based Tissue Control Method (TCM), for noninvasive measurement of real-time-based intra-arterial blood pressure and dynamic compliance of blood vessel. Both VLDT and TCM are based upon the decoupling theory to cause the arterial pulsation without the influence from surrounding tissues and measure the variations of the vascular diameter at critical depth. Meanwhile, the AC part of blood pressure is lost, that is, the reference pressure for AC controller is absent as well. To remedy this problem, VLDT employs Step-Hold control rules and cubic spline curve fitting technique to estimate the reference pressure, identify the impedance of blood vessel, and calculate the AC control gain at Hold stage, then track the AC part of blood pressure and compute the real-time arterial blood pressure at Step stage by turns, which makes the real time measurement feasible;moreover, the dynamic compliance of blood vessel can be extracted from real-time impedances of blood vessel. Since the compliance of blood vessel is decoupled from surrounding tissues, it is valuable for diagnosing the severity of vascular sclerosis. The simulation results showed that the VLDT approach is superiority over TCM. This could provide new prospective to circulatory medicine research.

This paper reports the impact of a wide bandgap p-type hydrogenatednanocrystalline silicon(nc-Si:H) on the performances of hydrogenated amorphoussilicon (a-Si:H) based solar *** p-layer is composed of nanometer-sized Sicrystallites embedded in a-SiHx matrix and the widening of its bandgap is mainly dueto the quantum size-confinement effect(QSE).By employing this p-layer we have obtained high performances of a-Si:H topcells with Voc1.036V and FF=72.5%,much improved a-SiGe:H mid and bottomcells,and also the spectral splitting triple-junction solar cells deposited on stainlesssteel (SS) substrate with the initial active area conversion efficiency of 12.7%(confirmed 12.5% by NREL) and stable efficiency of 10.5%.We have studied the problems associated with the p-i interface and the I-Vrollover behavior,and found that one cause for a poor interface is the mismatch of thevalance band edge *** using AMPS model developed by the Pernn StateUniversity supports our arguments.

Attempts to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere in recent years have led to the development of Carbon Capture and Sequestration(CCS)***,there have been many studies reporting leakages form CO2 storage sites as a result of cement degradation induced by generation of an acidic environment in the storage *** there are a number of approaches proposed to enhance the efficiency of the cement,the degradation issue has not been totally resolved yet perhaps due to the excessive corrosives nature of carbonic acid and supercritical *** aim of this study is to propose a methodology to improve the physical and mechanical characteristics of the cement by nanomodification such that a consistent rheology,constant density and a good strength development can be achieved.A new dispersion technique was proposed to ensure that the cement formulation gives a consistent *** results obtained indicated that unlike the literature mixing,cement slurries prepared by the new mixing technique are very consistent in their rheology,regardless of the sonication parameters *** measurements of the compressive strength performed at the reservoir condition revealed that nanosilica contributes in the strength development up to a certain *** Analysis(TGA)conducted at the last stage indicated that the amount of Portlandite left in the cement by adding nanosilica is decreased due to the pozzolanic reaction,which would help the cement to have a higher chance of survival in a storage ***,cautions must be taken to maintain a certain amount of Portlandite in the cement for slowing down the carbonation rate,as otherwise the matrix of the cement is attacked directly and the cement will be degraded very fast.

Spatial variation and soil nitrogen potential hotspots in a mixed land cover catchment on the Chinese Loess Plateau

Soil nitrogen(N) is critical to ecosystem services and environmental quality. Hotspots of soil N in areas with high soil moisture have been widely studied, however, their spatial distribution and their linkage with soil N variation have seldom been examined at a catchment scale in areas with low soil water content. We investigated the spatial variation of soil N and its hotspots in a mixed land cover catchment on the Chinese Loess Plateau and used multiple statistical methods to evaluate the effects of the critical environmental factors on soil N variation and potential hotspots. The results demonstrated that land cover, soil moisture, elevation, plan curvature and flow accumulation were the dominant factors affecting the spatial variation of soil nitrate(NN), while land cover and slope aspect were the most important factors impacting the spatial distribution of soil ammonium(AN) and total nitrogen(TN). In the studied catchment, the forestland, gully land and grassland were found to be the potential hotspots of soil NN, AN and TN accumulation, respectively. We concluded that land cover and slope aspect could be proxies to determine the potential hotspots of soil N at the catchment scale. Overall, land cover was the most important factor that resulted in the spatial variations of soil N. The findings may help us to better understand the environmental factors affecting soil N hotspots and their spatial variation at the catchment scale in terrestrial ecosystems.

A Model of Grand Unified Theory: Suggested Solution for CP-Violation Using Ideas of Phase Paths

This study demonstrates that beyond standard model (BSM) cosmic fundamental interactions—weak, strong, and electromagnetic forces—can be unified through a common basis of representation. This unification allows for the derivation of the fine structure constant with running points of α(t) ≈ 1/(136.9038) at high energy scales, based on electroweak interactions. Through the application of the Ising model, the running point of the elementary charge e at high energy scales is determined, and Coulomb’s law is actually derived from the Yukawa potential. Theoretically, based on S. Weinberg’s electroweak interaction theory, this study unifies the strong and electromagnetic forces by representing them with rYuka, and further advances the reconstruction of the SU(3)C×SU(1)L×U(1)EMframework on the basis of electroweak interaction concepts. In fact, the cosmic fundamental forces can interchange at the mass gap, defined as the Yukawa turning phase at rYuka ≃1.9404 fm, with the SU(3)Diag structural constant fijk on glueballs calculated, estimating a spectrum mass gap of ∆0 > 0.
