Polyphenolic composition, antibacterial, modulator and neuroprotective activity of Tarenaya spinosa(Jacq.) Raf.(Cleomaceae)

Objective: To evaluate the antibacterial activity and neuroprotective capacity of the ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Tarenaya spinosa(T. spinosa) as well as to determine and quantify some of its polyphenols by high performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection(HPLC-DAD). methods: The bacterial escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains, grown in Heart Agar Infusion, were tested. The drugs gentamicin, norfloxacin and imipenem were used to evaluate the modulating or antagonistic capacity of the T. spinosa extracts. The extract was analysed by HPLC-DAD to determine the main phenolic compounds. For the cell viability tests, individual heads of the Nauphoeta cinerea arthropod model were removed, homogenized in Trifluoromethyl ketone and centrifuged afterwards. Subsequently, 20 μL of NaN O2 were added to the biological material, except in the control group, to evaluate the protection capacity of the extracts. The homogenate of the insect heads was incubated for 2 h in tubes containing tetrazolium bromide. Results: HPLC-DAD demonstrated that the ethanolic extract of T. spinosa presented caffeic acid as the major compound. The ethanolic extract also showed neuroprotective effects at concentrations ≥ 10 μg/mL, while aqueous extract was shown to have a protective effect only at the concentration of 100 μg/mL. The aqueous extract demonstrated a clinically relevant antibacterial activity against the Staphylococcus aureus multidrug resistant strain-mDR, with mIC 512 μg/m L. However, when the extracts were associated with gentamicin and imipenem, a synergism was detected against Staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli mDR strains. Conclusions: Although it does not present an antibacterial action, the extracts of T. spinosa can be used in the pharmaceutical industries since its extracts show modulating action of drugs. Besides, these natural products have neuroprotective capacity.

＜正＞ This work describes the silicon implementation of a new sample-and-hold circuit topology. The main feature of the circuit is its auto-zero capability. The auto-zero corrects the offset voltage generated by the transistor mismatch in the differential pair and the charge injected by the NmOS switches in the sampling capacitor. The circuit was implemented in 0,8μm CmOS process from AmS. The results, initially obtained from simulations, were compared to real laboratory measurements. The comparison indicates that the measurements and the simulated results have a very close correspondence. The circuit is capable of reducing the total sample-and-hold output error to just 0.14% at a sampling rate of 250KHz.

Diagnosis of Boron Deficiency in Green Dwarf Coconut Palm

The diagnosis of boron deficiency in coconut palms has been hampered by lack of information about its distribution in the plant. Two experiments were conducted, one in a greenhouse to induce boron deficiency in dwarf green coconut palms, and other in the field, in which the plants received doses of boric acid, B(OH)3. The objective was to verify symptoms of boron deficiency and boron content variation in canopy, leaves and folioles (or leaflets). Boron deficient plants led leaves and folioles to become deformed. The deficient and sufficient contents of boron varied significantly in the canopy, but did not vary in leaves. The boron content increased significantly from bottom to the apex of the folioles in both treatments. To survey the level of boron in the coconut palm, the ideal is, using samples taken from the youngest leaf, to calculate the relation between the boron content in the apex of the foliole and the content in the center or in the folioles bottom, with minimum values 2.2 or 2.7, respectively.

Dyslipidemias and Related Factors in Brazilian Adolescents from Rural and Urban Areas

This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of dyslipidemias and related factors, in Brazilian adolescents from rural and urban areas. This is a cross-sectional study with 182 adolescents aged 10 to 13 years, students, residing in the rural and urban area of Brazil;grouped according to age, gender and socioeconomic class. Sexual maturation, physical activity, blood pressure, nutritional status and body composition were evaluated. Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and serum triglycerides were dosed. The food frequency questionnaire was applied, quantifying energy, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, full fat and fibers. Bivariate and multiple analyses were carried out, by logistic regression. It was verified that 84.6% (n = 154) adolescents presented some lipid profile alteration. There was no difference in the lipid profile between adolescents for residence place. However, as for gender, it was noticed that girls presented higher levels of total cholesterol and HDL (p escents with excess weight and body fat showed lower HDL and higher triglycerides values compared with eutrophic and with those with appropriate body fat percentage (p e multiple analyses, it was observed that gender and signs of sexual maturation were associated with total cholesterol;fiber intake remained associated with HDL and signs of sexual maturation with LDL (p erides the related factors were gender, nutritional status and protein intake (p e elevated prevalence of dyslipidemias found between adolescents from rural and urban areas reinforces the importance of monitoring these alterations and information as for the related risk factors, with programs for correction of changeable factors.

Application of extended multiplicative Signal Correction to Short-Wavelength near Infrared Spectra of moisture in marzipan

Short-wavelength near infrared spectroscopy (SW-NIR) is a very rapid, versatile and precise technique, which can be used in many different situations and for very types of products and chemical compounds. extended multiplicative signal correction (emSC) is a modification of the standard mSC pre-processing method that allows the separation of physical light scattering effects from chemical (vibrational) light absorbance effects in spectra. In this paper, the emSC is applied and compared with first derivate, second derivate, mSC and SNV in combination of PLSR to obtain robust models in terms of accuracy and predict ability with a reduced calibration data set using SW-NIR spectra of moisture in marzipan. The extended multiplicative Signal Correction—emSC and combination methods provide the best results in terms of prediction ability and calibration SW-NIR spectra of moisture in marzipan. The best classification results were obtained by extended multiplicative Signal Correction followed by second derivates.

目的:本实验旨在探究锥度连接种植系统中.种植体与基台之间的微间隙及种植体平台圆度与细菌微渗漏的关系。材料和方法:检测了4个品牌的锥度连接种植体。细菌渗漏的检测以0.3μm大肠杆菌悬液接种于种植体螺纹间空隙,于37℃下培养14d。将所有用于微生物学检测的样本纵向切割.并用扫描电镜(最大放大倍数5000x)在两侧的3个位点测量微间隙大小。用显微影像学技术测量种植体平台圆度以量化显微镜下所见。结果:Nobel Biocare系统中2个样本、Ankylos(Demsply)系统中4个样本,Neodent(Straumann)系统中有4个样本及Conexao系统中5个样本细菌检测为阳性,且各系统细菌渗漏情况无显著差异。Neodent系统的平均微间隙值最大(5.84±9.83μm),其次是Nobel Biocare系统(5.17±4.10μm),Ankylos系统(3.47±3.28μm),最后是conexao系统(2.72±3.19μm).各系统间无显著差异。所有系统均在显微影像检测中显示出圆度构造误差。结论:本实验检测的锥度连接种植系统均未能阻止细菌渗漏.并且未能避免构造误差。

We recognize the chemical composition of the acetonic extract of Rhizophora mangle barks(AeRm)using mass spectrometry analysis[liquid chromatography(LC)–eSI–IT-mS/mS and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mS(mALDI-TOF)].Analgesic activity was evaluated by formalin and tail-flick experimental ***-inflammatory activity was performed by paw edema test induced by carrageenan and 48/80 *** first series of experiments involved[LC]–FIA–IT-mS/mS with 11 separated catechins derivatives until degree of polymerization 3(DP3).The spectra obtained by mALDI-TOF analysis of the AeRm presented two homologous series:one based on polymers of m/z 288 Da increments(up to DP12)and another series based on polymers of m/z[288?162]Da increments(up to DP11).In addition to these series of flavan-3-ol,each DP had a subset of masses with a variation of-16 Da(homologous series of afzelechins-m/z 873–3465 Da)and +16 Da(homologous series of gallocatechins-m/z 905–3497 Da).A similar pattern with homologous series of gallocatechins and afzelechins could also be observed for a fifth and a sixth monohexoside series:glucogallocatechins(m/z 779–3371)and glucoafzelechins(m/z 747–3339).The intraperitoneal administration of different doses of AeRm(50,150 and 300 lg mL^(-1))have a morphine-like effect and intense anti-inflammatory activity.

Growth, Nutrient Content and SPAD Value of Corn in monoculture and in Intercropping

The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth, the nutrition, and the intensity of the green color in corn plants in monoculture and in intercropping with mucuna aterrima, Crotalaria juncea, and Canavalia ensiformis, cultivated with different handlings. In general, corn plants in monoculture demonstrated greater growth and greater SPAD value in the first evaluation, despite presenting lower tenor of phosphorus in the leaves when related to the corn in intercropping. The weed helps in the growth of the corn plant and increases the SPAD value during flowering. The monoculture NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) fertilization promoted higher values in corn plant growth, as well as a greater SPAD value, at 30 d.a.e., of the plants. The NPK-fertilized corn plants showed a greater tenor of sulphur and a lower tenor of molybdenum. The corn in intercropping with m. aterrima resulted in smaller plants at 70 d.a.e. It also presented a greater tenor of molybdenum and lower tenor of nickel when compared to intercroppings with C. juncea and with C. ensiformis. The corn plants in a intercropping with Crotalaria juncea presented higher growth at 30 and 70 d.a.e. and greater tenors of molybdenum when compared to the plants in intercropping with C. ensiformis.

Technical evaluation of Hybrid Clones of Corymbia spp. to Produce market Pulp

This study presents hybrid clones of Corymbia *** by Aperam Bioenergia as potential substitutes for eucalyptus wood in the pulp *** biomass of eucalyptus *** compared with that of Corymbia *** performing modified kraft pulping and basic density *** were made by analyzing their respective mean annual increments of cellulose(mAI_(cel))and specific wood consumption(SWC),estimated using a kappa number of(19±1).The results showed that one of the hybrid clones(Corymbia citriodora×Corymbia torelliana,ID 4)had higher basic wood density,higher screened yield,better mAI_(cel#k19),and lower SWC than the other samples,reaching values of 0.608 t/m^(3),54.1%,24.6 ADt/ha/year(i.e.,air dry ton/hectare/year),and 2.74 m^(3)/ADt,***,clone ID 4 had the highest mAI_(cel)/SWC ratio score(8.98).Given its high forest productivity and low industrial cost compared with other samples,as well as its advantages over eucalyptus ***,we concluded that clone ID 4 has great potential as an alternative biomass for pulp production.

The Optimization of Aspergillus ***4 Tannase Production under Submerged Fermentation

Tannase is a hydrolytic enzyme that is involved in the biodegradation of tannins and it has biotechnological potential in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage industries. microorganisms, especially filamentous fungi, are important tannase producers. The aims of this work were to find a potential tannase producer and to improve the cultivation conditions. Three Aspergillus species (A. japonicus 246A, A. tamarii 3 and Aspergillus sp. Gm4) were investigated in different culture media (Adams, Czapeck, Khanna, m5 and Vogel) and inducers (1% and 2% tannic acid;1% green tea;1% methyl gallate;1% gallic acid). Aspergillus sp. Gm4 and Adams medium were selected. The tannase production by Aspergillus sp. Gm4 in Adams medium was induced in the presence of 2% (w/v) tannic acid and gallic acid as carbon sources, while green tea was not able to induce tannase production. The Plackett-Burman screening design was performed with the variables mgSO4, KH2PO4, yeast extract, tannic acid, agitation rate and salt solution. The variables mgSO4 and agitation rate were selected for the optimization of tannase production using a Central Composite Rotatable Design. Under optimized conditions, a 2.66-fold increase in the enzyme production was observed with small modifications in the medium composition.
