bACKGROUND New implants for total knee arthroplasty(TKA)are continuously introduced with the proposed benefit of increased performance and improved *** information exists on how the introduction of a novel arthroplasty implant affects the perioperative and surgical outcome immediately after *** To investigate how surgery-related factors and implant positioning were affected by the introduction of a novel TKA *** A novel TKA system was introduced at our institution on 30th November ***-five TKAs performed with the Persona TKA immediately following its introduction by 3 different surgeons(25 TKAs/surgeon)were identified as the Introduction ***,the latest 25 TKAs performed by each surgeon prior to introduction of the Persona TKA were identified as the Control Group.A Follow-up Group of 25 TKAs/surgeon was identified starting 1-year after the end of the introduction ***,surgery-related factors and alignment data were recorded,and intergroup differences *** Following introduction of the novel implant,Persona TKA was utilized in 69%(71%),53%(54%),and 45%(75%)of primary TKA procedures by the three surgeons,respectively(Follow-up Group).Mean surgery time was increased by 28%(Pblood loss by 25%(P=0.002)in the Introduction Group,while only the mean surgery time was increased in the Follow-up Group by 18%(Pbetween the groups apart from femoral flexion(FF)and tibial slope(TS).The number of FF outliers was reduced in the Introduction Group with a more pronounced decrease in the Follow-up *** Introduction of the new TKA implant increased surgical time and intraoperative blood loss immediately after its *** differences diminished one year after introduction of the new *** outliers with respect to FF and TS were seen when using the novel TKA *** studies are needed to investigat

The sulfuric acid leaching kinetics of South African chromite was investigated. The negative influence of a solid product layer constituted of a silicon-rich phase and chromium-rich sulfate was eliminated by crushing the chromite and by selecting proper leaching con- ditions. The dimensionless change in specific surface area and the conversion rate of the chromite were observed to exhibit a proportional re- lationship. A modified shrinking particle model was developed to account for the change in reactive surface area, and the model was fitted to experimental data. The resulting model was observed to describe experimental findings very well. Kinetics analysis revealed that the leach- ing process is controlled by a chemical reaction under the employed experimental conditions and the activation energy of the reaction is 48 ***-1.

The relationships between permeability and dynamics in hydrocarbon accumulation determine oil- bearing potential （the potential oil charge） of low perme- ability reservoirs. The evolution of porosity and permeability of low permeability turbidite reservoirs of the middle part of the third member of the Shahejie Formation in the Dongying Sag has been investigated by detailed core descriptions, thin section analyses, fluid inclusion analyses, carbon and oxygen isotope analyses, mercury injection, porosity and permeability testing, and basin modeling. The cutoff values for the permeability of the reservoirs in the accumulation period were calculated after detailing the accumulation dynamics and reservoir pore structures, then the distribution pattern of the oil-bearing potential of reservoirs controlled by the matching relationship between dynamics and permeability during the accumulation period were summarized. On the basis of the observed diagenetic features and with regard to the paragenetic sequences, the reservoirs can be subdivided into four types of diagenetic facies. The reservoirs experienced two periods of hydro- carbon accumulation. In the early accumulation period, the reservoirs except for diagenetic facies A had middle to high permeability ranging from 10 × 10-3 gm2 to 4207 × 10-3 lain2. In the later accumulation period, the reservoirs except for diagenetic facies C had low permeability ranging from 0.015 × 10-3 gm2 to 62× 10-3 -3m2. In the early accumulation period, the fluid pressure increased by the hydrocarbon generation was 1.4-11.3 MPa with an average value of 5.1 MPa, and a surplus pressure of 1.8-12.6 MPa with an average value of 6.3 MPa. In the later accumulation period, the fluid pressure increased by the hydrocarbon generation process was 0.7-12.7 MPa with an average value of 5.36 MPa and a surplus pressure of 1.3-16.2 MPa with an average value of 6.5 MPa. The increased capacity needs, primarily driven by content distribution, and the vision of Internet-of-Things with billions of connected devices pose radically new demands on future wireless and mobile systems. In general the increased diversity and scale result in complex resource management and optimization problems in both radio access networks and the wired core network infrastructure. We summarize results in this area from a collaborative Sino-Swedish project within IMT Advanced and beyond, covering adaptive radio resource management, energy-aware routing, OpenFlow-based network virtualization, data center networking, and access network caching for TV on demand.

Consulting Engineers and Architects are currently experimenting with the concept of “Integrated Design Process” (IDP). This paper views Integrated Design Process as a process tool and a concept for management and organization of the green energy engineering process. Moreover such a concept is understood both as systematic knowledge and a symbolic device for enabling change. The paper briefly review international variants, and focus on two variants present in Denmark: an architect and engineering variant of IDP. The differences between the concepts include different roles for main actors, the use of information technology, the relation to lean, and forms of collaboration. The paper discusses two building projects focusing on teams of engineers and architects in the early conceptual phase. One develops a solution focused on energy saving technologies, the other on energy producing. It is argued that in this practical context, IDP is viewed as ambiguous and not well defined, and the architects and engineer work hard understanding and using the concepts even when directly involved. It is difficult to reach consensus on how to do it. The various players agree that an increased interdisciplinary interaction in the design team is necessary in order to comply with the increased complexity of green energy building design. IDP shows potential as a driver for green energy engineering and technologies, as traditional roles and responsibilities in the design process is changed, and sustainable solutions for green buildings can reach a higher standard and quality and are integrated earlier in the design process.

The objective of this experiment was to determine the standardized ileal digestibility（SID） of amino acids（AA） in 3sources of distillers dried grains with solubles（DDGS） with different concentrations of *** growing barrows（initial body weight：76.1 ± 6.2 kg） were randomly allotted to a replicated 6×4 Youden square design with 6 diets and 4 *** fat content of the 3 sources of DDGS were 11.5,7.5,and 6.9%*** contained 60%DDGS and fat concentration of the diets were 7.5,52,and 5.2%,*** additional diets containing the 2sources of DDGS with 75 and 6.9%fat were also formulated,and corn oil was added to these diets to increase the concentration of fat in the diets to levels that were calculated to be similar to the diet containing conventional DDGS with 11.5%fat.A N-free diet was also formulated to calculate endogenous losses of crude protein（CP） and AA from the *** were fed experimental diets during four 7-d *** first 5 d of each period were an adaptation period and ileal digesta were collected on d 6 and 7 of each *** apparent ileal digestibililty（AID） and SID of CP and all indispensable AA,except AID Pro and SID of Trp,were greater（P 〈 0.01） in conventional DDGS than in the 2 sources of DDGS with reduced *** oil to the diets containing the 2 sources of DDGS with reduced fat did not consistently increase SID of *** conclusion,conventional DDGS has greater SID values for most AA compared with DDGS that contains less fat and inclusion of additional oil to diets containing low-fat DDGS does not increase AID or SID of *** lower AA digestibility in low-fat DDGS could not be overcome by the inclusion of additional fat to the diets.
