Effect of soaking time of dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate solution on strength and deformation characteristics of lateritic soil

This study aimed to reveal the influence of different free-iron-oxides contents on the strength and deformation characteristics of in situ lateritic soil.A test method that combined the selective chemical dissolution method and in situ Ménard pressuremeter test(PMT)was *** soaking time in dithioniteecitrateebicarbonate(DCB)solution was used as a variable to control the free-iron-oxides content in lateritic ***,the in situ lateritic soil boreholes with different soaking time were tested by *** results showed that the in situ horizontal pressure p0,critical edge pressure pf,ultimate pressure prediction pl,pressuremeter modulus Em,shear modulus Gm,and foundation-bearing capacity f0k of lateritic soil decreased rapidly after immersing in DCB solution within 1e4 *** increasing soaking time,the decrease rate reduced ***,the relationship curve between free-iron-oxides content and soaking time declined rapidly and then stabilized,and the free-iron-oxides content at the inflection point was 30.11 g/*** the free-iron-oxides content changed to the inflection point,the free-iron-oxides that played a cementing role was largely removed,indicating that the effective cementing iron-content of Miaoling lateritic soil was about 52.9%.This study demonstrated that the proposed test method can determine the influence of free-iron-oxides content on the strength and deformation characteristics of lateritic soil.

In this study,acrylic acid was used as a neutralizer to prepare bio-based WPU with an interpenetrating polymer network structure by thermally induced free radical emulsion *** effects of the content of acrylic acid on the properties of the resulting waterborne polyurethane-poly(acrylic acid)(WPU-PAA)dispersion and the films were systematically *** results showed that the cross-linking density of the interpenetrating network polymers was increased and the interlocking structure of the soft and hard phase dislocations in the molecular segments of the double networks was tailored with increasing the content of acrylic acid,leading to enhancement of the mechanical properties and water resistance of WPU-PAA ***,with the increase in content of acrylic acid,the tensile strength,Young’s modulus,and toughness of the WPU-PAA-110 film increased by 3 times,and 8 times,and 2.4 times compared with WPU-PAA-80,*** WPU-PAA-100 film showed the best water resistance,and the water absorption rate at 96 h was only 3.27%.This work provided a new design scheme for constructing bio-based WPU materials with excellent properties.

This paper provides a mathematical model for Three Gorges-Gezhou dam co-scheduling problem, based on full analysis of Three Corges-Gezhou dam＇s actual needs, to maximize the total throughput of Three Gorges-Cezhou dam and the utilization ratio of shiplock area and minimize the total navigation shiplock waiting time under multiple constraints. This paper proposes a series queuing network （SQN） scheduling algorithm to divide the total ships that intend to pass through the shiplocks into four queues and calculate dynamically the weight of priority for each ship. The SQN scheduling algorithm schedules ships according to their priority weights which is determined by the characteristics of each ship, such as length, width, affiliation, waiting time, and so on. In the process, the operation conditions of Gezhou dam related to the navigable shiplocks and the task balancing among different shiplocks also should be considered. The SQN algorithm schedules ships circularly and optimizes the results step by step. Real operation data from our project shows that our SQN scheduling algorithm outperforms the traditional manual scheduling in which the less computational time is taken, the area utilization ratio of the five shiplocks is increased, the waiting time of high-prioritized ships is shorten, and a better balanced and alternating run-mode is provided for the three shiplocks in the Gezhou dam.

Injecting water into the main pipeline is a common method to prevent the ammonium salt corrosion in hydrogenation *** use of spray nozzle can enhance the effects of washing ammonium salt and reduce the risk of ammonium salt *** droplet atomization and evaporation model were used to investigate the mixing process of injecting water and gas-oil mixture in a high-pressure *** effects of some key parameters including fluid velocity,temperature,and droplet volume fraction on the mixing and vaporization process were *** simulation results show that with the increase of injecting water flow rate,the fluid velocity increases and the temperature decreases *** the mass flow rate of injecting water is 1.5 t/h,the droplet has the maximum evaporation efficiency and the volume fraction reaches a minimum ***,with the increase of atomization angle and droplet size,the mean velocity and the temperature of fluid decrease *** increase of atomization angle or the decrease of droplet size will accelerate the evaporation process of droplets and reduce the droplet volume fraction,which indicates that the droplet slip velocity and the contact area are the key factors affecting the droplet evaporation rate.

The application of solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)is severely impeded by the insufficient ionic conductivity and low Li^(+)transference numbers(t_(Li)^(+)).Here,we report an iodine-driven strategy to address both the two longstanding issues of SPEs *** lodine-containing groups introduced on polymer chains effectively attract Li^(+)ions,facilitate Li^(+)transport,and promote the dissociation of Li ***,iodine is also favorable to alleviate the strong O-Li^(+)coordination through a Lewis acidbase interaction,further improving the ionic conductivity and t_(Li)^(+).As a proof of concept,an iodinated single-ion conducting polymer electrolyte(IPE)demonstrates a high ionic conductivity of 0.93 mS cm^(-1)and a high t_(Li)^(+)of 0.86 at 25℃,which is among the best results ever reported for ***,symmetric Li/Li cells with IPE achieve a long-term stability over 2600 h through the in-situ formed LiF-rich *** a result,Li-S battery with IPE maintains a high capacity of 623.7 mAh g^(-1)over 300 cycles with an average Coulombic efficiency of 99%.When matched with intercalation cathode chemistries,Li/IPE/LiFePO_(4)and Li/IPE/LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)solid-state batteries also deliver high-capacity retentions of 95%and 97%at 0.2 C after 120 cycles,respectively.

A novel all-solid-state, coaxial, fiber-shaped asymmetric supercapacitor has been fabricated by wrapping a conducting carbon paper on a MnO2-modified nanoporous gold wire. This energy wire exhibits high capacitance of 12 ***^-2 and energy density of 5.4 μ***^-2 with excellent cycling stability. Hierarchical nanostructures and coaxial architectural design facilitate effective contacts between the two core@sheath electrodes and active layers with high flexibility and high performance. This work provides the first example of coaxial fiber- shaped asymmetric supercapacitors with an operation voltage of 1.8 V, and holds great potential for future flexible electronic devices.

Oxygen evolution reaction(OER),occurring at the anode of electrochemical water splitting requires a comprehensive understanding of oxygen electrocatalysis mechanism to optimize its *** dispersed transition metal supported by nitrogen-doped carbon is featured with excellent catalytic ***,we report a Mg/Co bimetal site which utilizes Mg 3p electrons with strong binding of*OH(the first key reaction intermediates in the free energy diagram)to trigger the OER reaction and Co 3d itinerant character to regulate the binding strength of**** from the fine-tuned adsorption/desorption possesses,the optimized catalyst delivers superior OER activity with low overpotential,i.e.,310 mV at a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) and 455 mV at 100 mA/cm^(2).Moreover,the current density is able to be maintained at 10 mA/cm^(2) for 10 h,consistent with the theoretical simulations for oxidization process,which demonstrates stable configurations after multiple*OH modification,revealing robust applicability in alkaline medium.

Protective Effects of Polyphenol Extracts from Sea Buckthorn (Hippophaë rhamnoides L.) on Rat Hearts

The objective of present study was to investigate the antioxidative and cardioprotective effects of polyphenol extracts from sea buckthorn (PESB) against myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI). PESB was analyzed using HPLC-DAD and their antioxidant activities were evaluated by measuring the intrinsic free radicals cavenging capacity and inhibiting the formation of hydroxyl radical capacity. Experiments on the isolated rat hearts were carried out according to the improved Langendorff retrograde perfusion technology. Coronary effluent of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB) activities were analyzed to determine the extent of myocardial injury. Protein expression levels of Beclin-1, microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3) I and II were measured to evaluate the degree of autophagy. In conclusion, coupled results from both in vivo and in vitro experiments have confirmed that PESB has potential health implications in both prevention and amelioration of MIRI, which may be attributed to the inhibition of autophagy.
