The hot working behavior of near-a titanium alloy IMI 834 with a duplex starting microstructure was studied using the technique of processing *** processing map was interpreted in terms of the microstrucmral processes occurring during deformation,based on the values of dimensionless parameter η which represents the energy dissipation through microstructural *** instability criterion(ξs also applied to demarcate the flow instability regions in the processing *** the parameters(η and ξ) were computed using the experimental data generated by carrying out hot compression tests over a range of temperatures(850-1060℃) and strain rates(3×10-1/s).The deterministic domains observed under the investigated temperature and strain rate conditions were attributed to continuous dynamic recrystallization or globularisation of a lamellae,dynamic recrystallization and growth of β grains through microstructural *** unified strain compensated constitutive equation was established to describe the hot working behavior of the material in the selected temperature-strain rate *** established constitutive equation was validated using standard statistical parameters such as correlation coefficient and average absolute relative error.

In the present research, commercially pure Ti (grade-2) has been diffusion bonded with Ti and Cu plate under static force without any interlayers. The diffusion bonded samples were tested for micro hardness and micro structural analysis through optical microscopy and sEM. It is found from the present investigation that the bonded zone is affected by the processing variables such as bonding time (1 - 2 h), bonding force (250 N), bonding temperature (973 - 1073 K) and surface roughness. Results of the investigation revealed that temperature range of ?973 - 1073 K along with time duration of 1 - 2 hours in vacuum has resulted in a joint having high hardness with minimum pores. Hardness of the bond depends on the grain boundary diffusion at the interface and maximum hardness was achieved in the case of Ti-Cu joints. When Ti-Cu plates were used for bonding at 973 K for 2 hours, Cu-Ti solid solution along with a zone of different intermetallics was formed in the bonded zone. However, at higher temperatures, no continuous zone of intermetallics was found in the bonded region but instead Ti-Cu solid solution appeared.

A simple, specific, precise, sensitive and rapid reverse phase-HPLC method was developed for determination of ketorolac enantiomers, a potent nonnarcotic analgesic in pharmaceutical formulations. The method was developed on a chiral AGP column. Mobile phase was 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer （pH 4.5）： lsopropanol （98：2, v/v）, at a flow rate of 1 mL/min with run time of 15 min. Ultraviolet detection was made at 322 nm. The linearity range was 0.02 10 μg/mL for each of the enantiomers. The mobile phase composition was systematically studied to find the optimum chromatographic conditions. Validation of the method under the conditions selected showed that it was selective and precise and that the detector response was linear function of ketorolac.

Mge3Ale1Zn(AZ31)alloy was caliber rolled isothermally in the temperature range of 250e450C to develop fine grains of 3.6e12.5 *** stressestrain curves obtained from tensile tests at room temperature were found to vary with the temperature employed in caliber *** tensile strength of 290 MPa and ductility of 13.5%were obtained upon caliber rolling at 300C as compared to 188 MPa and 15.2%,respectively,in the mill-rolled *** variations in tensile properties are explained by the concomitant grain size,texture and twins obtained as a function of caliber rolling temperature.

Fins are the extended surfaces through which heat transfer takes place to keep the surface cool. Fins of various configurations are presently used ranging from automobile engine cooling to cooling of computer parts. Note that in a fin majority of the heat transfer to atmosphere is by convection and therefore in the present research, and importance is given to variation of temperature along the length of the fin which in turn gives rate of heat transfer. In the present research a solid rectangular aluminum fin and the same rectangular fin with different perforations (2, 4, 8 and 10) were compared analytically, experimentally and its validity through finite element analysis for its temperature distribution along the length. From the present research it is observed that the mathematical and FEA for a solid rectangular fin without perforations are converging within ±1°C and rectangular fin with 10 perforations are converging within ±2°C and hence the validity.

This paper presents the results obtained and the discussions made from a series of thermal experiments involving Nickel alloy (AsTM A 494 M) reinforced with fused siO2, and size of the particles dispersed varies from 80 - 120 μm and amount of addition varies from 3 to 12 wt.% in steps of 3 wt.%. The resulting chilled MMCs are solidified under the influence of copper chill of 25 mm thickness to study the effect of chilling on thermal behaviour. Microstructural studies indicated that the reinforcement distribution is uniform with very good bonding due to chilling effect. Thermal properties were found to decrease significantly with increase in siO2 content in chilled MMCs. It is concluded from the research that reinforcement content and the temperature has an effect on coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity of the chilled composite developed. Finite element analysis of the exhaust valve of the IC indicates that chilled Ni alloy composite developed in the present research can be used as alternate material for the existing valve material (Ni-Cr alloy steel). All the tests conducted in this research are in conformance with AsTM standards.

In controlled solidification, one of the important factors that affects heat transfer from the solidifying casting is the resistance offered at the casting/chill interface. In the present investigation, heat transfer analysis during solidification of Al-12%si (LM 13) alloy is carried out by collecting temperature history of the solidifying casting. The temperature distribution during solidification in the present investigation is obtained using ANsYs multiphysics software and further for comparison. The temperature profiles are also obtained by FE (Finite Element) modelling using the same software. By using a temperature data logger and lab view based software, the temperature data is acquired and processed at every second. The cooling curves obtained are analysed to know the effect of chilling on solidification behaviour of Al-12%si alloy castings. Finally, it is concluded from the above research that the cooling curves and temperature distribution obtained by FE analysis do not so closely converge with the experimental data due to modelling limitations.

Objective: To study the occurrence and serotype diversity of salmonella isolates in different species of poultry(chicken, emu and duck) and determine their resistance pattern against various antibiotics of different ***: About 507 samples comprising 202 caecal contents and 305 fecal samples from chicken, emu and duck were processed for isolation of salmonella enterica. salmonellae were isolated and detected by standard protocol of IsO 6579 Amendment 1: Annex D. Genetic confirmation was also made by using 16 s r RNA genus specific PCR. serotype specific PCR was also done to detect the most common serovars viz. salmonella Enteritidis, salmonella Typhimurium and salmonella Gallinarum. All obtained isolates were subjected to a set of 25 antibiotics to study their antibiogram by using Baeur-Kirby disk diffusion ***: Out of 507 samples processed, 32 isolates of salmonella enterica(18 from caecal contents and 14 from faecal samples) were obtained, of which 24 belonged to 6 different serovars, 6 were untypeable and 2 were rough strains. salmonella Enteritidis was the most predominant serotype(9), followed by salmonella Typhimurium(5), salmonella Virchow(4), salmonella Gallinarum(3), salmonella Reading(2) and salmonella Altona(1). Antibiotic resistance pattern was maximum(100%) to oxacillin, penicillin and clindamycin, followed by ampicillin(68.75%), tetracycline(65.62%), nalidixic acid(56.25%) and colistin(46.87%). High sensitivity of isolates was recorded for chloramphenicol(96.87%) followed by meropenem(84.37%). Conclusions: Occurrence of high proportion of serovars in our study which can cause serious gastroenteritis in humans is a matter of concern. salmonella Altona has been detected for the first time in India from poultry. This serotype is known to cause serious outbreaks of gastroenteritis in humans.
