Exercise Catheterization for Hemodynamic Evaluation of Adults with Coarctation of the Aorta

Social engineering through social media channels targeting organizational employees is emerging as one of the most challenging information security *** engineering defies traditional security efforts due to the method of attack relying on human naiveté or *** vast amount of information now made available to social engineers through online social networks is facilitating methods of attack which rely on some form of human error to enable infiltration into company ***,paramount to organisational information security objectives is the introduction of relevant comprehensive policy and guideline,perspectives and practices vary from global region to *** paper identifies such regional variations and then presents a detailed investigation on information security outlooks and practices,surrounding social media,in Australian organisations（both public and private）.Results detected disparate views and practices,suggesting further work is needed to achieve effective protection against security threats arsing due to social media adoption.

Background: Coarctation of the aorta (CoA) is associated with a generalized arteriopathy and long-term complicationsdespite repair. Data on invasive exercise hemodynamics in this population are lacking. Accordingly, wereviewed adults with CoA undergoing exercise catheterization to assess 1. hemodynamic profile;2. feasibilityfor assessment of CoA severity. Methods: Twenty patients undergoing exercise cardiac catheterization (12 armadduction and 8 supine cycle ergometry) at a quaternary care center between 2004 and 2021 were identified. Restingand exercise hemodynamic data were abstracted from the procedure logs. Results: Mean age was 43.6 ±12.0 years. Eleven patients (55%) had resting pulmonary arterial wedge pressure (PAWP) >15 mmHg;amongthose undergoing arterial catheterization, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure was >15 mmHg in 63%. Elevenpatients (55%) had pulmonary hypertension: 7 (35%) combined and 4 (20%) isolated post-capillary. At peak exercise,ΔPAWP/Δcardiac output (CO) ≥2 and Δmean pulmonary artery pressure/ΔCO ≥3 mmHg/l/min were foundin 7 (78%) and 6 (67%) patients, respectively;the composite of exercise PAWP ≥25 mmHg or ΔPAWP/ΔCO>2 was seen in 12 (86%). CoA peak-to-peak gradients at baseline (n = 14) and during exercise (n = 9) were 12(3–16) and 16 mmHg (9–28), respectively. Only 2 patients had an increase in CoA gradient to >20 mmHg withexercise. Conclusions: Diastolic dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension were highly prevalent, with exerciseunmasking abnormal diastolic and pulmonary vascular reserve in some individuals. Most patients failed to showsignificant increases in CoA peak-to-peak gradients with exercise. Further studies are warranted to establish thebest diagnostic method for CoA severity assessment.

Exposure to disinfection by-products（DBP） such as trihalomethanes（THM） in swimming pools has been linked to adverse health effects in humans, but their biological mechanisms are unclear. We evaluated short-term changes in blood gene expression of adult recreational swimmers after swimming in a chlorinated pool. Volunteers swam 40 min in an indoor chlorinated pool. Blood samples were drawn and four THM（chloroform,bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane and bromoform） were measured in exhaled breath before and after swimming. Intensity of physical activity was measured as metabolic equivalents（METs）. Gene expression in whole blood m RNA was evaluated using Illumina Human HT-12v3 Expression-Bead Chip. Linear mixed models were used to evaluate the relationship between gene expression changes and THM exposure. Thirty-seven before-after pairs were analyzed. The median increase from baseline to after swimming were： 0.7 to 2.3 for MET, and 1.4 to 7.1 μg/m^3 for exhaled total THM（sum of the four THM）.Exhaled THM increased on average 0.94 μg/m^3 per 1 MET. While 1643 probes were differentially expressed post-exposure. Of them, 189 were also associated with exhaled levels of individual/total THM or MET after False Discovery Rate. The observed associations with the exhaled THM were low to moderate（Log-fold change range：-0.17 to 0.15）. In conclusion, we identified short-term gene expression changes associated with swimming in a pool that were minor in magnitude and their biological meaning was unspecific. The high collinearity between exhaled THM levels and intensity of physical activity precluded mutually adjusted models with both covariates. These exploratory results should be validated in future studies.

The Mach Effect Thruster (MET) is a propellant—less space drive which uses Mach’s principle to produce thrust in an accelerating material which is undergoing mass—energy fluctuations, [1]-[3]. Mach’s principle is a statement that the inertia of a body is the result of the gravitational interaction of the body with the rest of the mass-energy in the universe. The MET device uses electric power of 100 - 200 Watts to operate. The thrust produced by these devices, at the present time, are small on the order of a few micro-Newtons. We give a physical description of the MET device and apparatus for measuring thrusts. Next we explain the basic theory behind the device which involves gravitation and advanced waves to incorporate instantaneous action at a distance. The advanced wave concept is a means to conserve momentum of the system with the universe. There is no momentun violation in this theory. We briefly review absorber theory by summarizing Dirac, Wheeler-Feynman and Hoyle-Narlikar (HN). We show how Woodward’s mass fluctuation formula can be derived from first principles using the HN-theory which is a fully Machian version of Einstein’s relativity. HN-theory reduces to Einstein’s field equations in the limit of smooth fluid distribution of matter and a simple coordinate transformation.

We report two new sets of tidal debris nearby the Sagittarius （Sgr） tidal stream in the north Galactic cap （NGC） identified from the M giant stars in LAMOST DR2. The M giant stars located in the sky area of 210° 〈 A 〈 290°, and having a distance of 10-20 kpc and We/HI 〈 -0.75 show clear bimodality in their velocity distribution. We denote the two peaks as Vel-3＋83 for the one within a mean velocity of -3 km s^-1 with respect to that of the well observed Sgr leading tail at the same A and Ve1＋162＋26 for the other one with a mean velocity of 162km s^-1 with respect to the Sgr leading tail. Although the projected A-Vgsr relation of Vel-3＋83 is very similar to the Sgr leading tail, the opposite trend in the A-distance relation as compared to the Sgr leading tail suggests Vel-3＋83 has a different 3D direction of motion with any branch of the simulated Sgr tidal stream from Law ＆ Majewski. Therefore, we propose it is new tidal debris not related to the Sgr stream. Similarly, the other substructure Vel＋162＋26, which is the same one as the NGC group discovered by Chou et al., also moves toward a different direction with respect to the Sgr stream, implying that it may have a different origin than the Sgr tidal stream.

The Influence of Biocomposite Processing and Composition on Natural Fiber Length, Dispersion and Orientation

In the study, the effect of process steps, melt viscosity and fiber type on the fiber length of biocomposites from triethyl citrate plasticized starch acetate and natural fibers was investigated. Composites were prepared by melt processing (compounding and injection molding). The lengths of fully processed fibers were determined by dissolving the starch acetate matrix and measuring the length of the remaining fibers by optical microscopy and image analysis. A clear reductive effect of the pelletising and melt processing on the fiber length was noticed. Also a reduction of fiber length along the increasing fiber content and the decreasing plasticizer content was detected. This reduction was originated from the increasing shear forces during compounding, which again depended on the increased viscosity of the material. When comparing the fully processed hemp and flax fibers, hemp fibers remained longer and fibrillated more than flax fibers, leading to higher aspect ratio. Thus, the reinforcement efficiency of hemp fibers by the processing was improved, on the contrary to the reduced reinforcement efficiency of flax fibers. In addition, the analysis of fiber dispersion and orientation showed a good dispersion of fibers in the matrix, and a predominant orientation of the fibers in the melt flow direction.

The influence of essential oils(EOs)on emotions has been widely described among humans and *** studies have investigated the effects and the actions of EOs on behaviour,mood and *** this study,shelter dogs(n=23)were exposed to olfactory stimulation through diffusion of 9 anxiolytic essential oils in one blend(olfactory enrichment)for 8 weeks in order to check long-term effects on ***,dog’s postures have been evaluated in both groups before and after ***,in order to collect the preliminary results on the distance necessary to obtain an effect of EOs,dogs were divided in 2 groups according to the distance from the *** results indicate that olfactory enrichment with this blend of EOs is related to less time spent by dogs in high *** research is needed to investigate a potential gradual effect of distance and concentration of EOs on dog’s welfare.

目的为了研究声音在中耳传递过程中在砧镫关节上的声损失,深入了解中耳传声中的机制和方式,并探讨其意义,为中耳手术中听骨链重建,尤其是为耳硬化手术中镫骨赝复物与砧骨长脚的嵌合的理想程度寻找理论依据。方法本试验研究了17个新鲜颞骨标本。用2个颞骨进行了机械刺激时的磁场矫正。采用激光多普勒振动仪,分别在声刺激和机械刺激下,对15个新鲜颞骨标本进行了研究。首先测量在80dB声刺激(声压级,下同)下镫骨底板的位移,然后在机械刺激条件下得到等同于80dB声刺激的镫骨底板位移以建立试验体系并保证试验体系的准确性。在等同于80dB声刺激的机械刺激条件下,测量10个颞骨标本砧镫关节的声损失。结果在所测量的频率中,砧镫关节上的声损失在3dB以内。结论中耳传声过程中,在砧镫关节上存在着声损失,这种损失是生理性和保护性的。
