Objective: To characterize the types, contents, and peroxynitrite-scavenging activities of flavonoids in the leaf of Carica papaya(C. papaya).Methods: Chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques along with high performance liquid chromatography quantitative analysis and peroxynitrite-scavenging assay were performed to isolate and quantify flavonoid compounds in the flavonoid-rich fraction(Bu OH fraction) derived from Me OH extract of C. papaya leaves and evaluate their peroxynitrite-scavenging ***: Seven flavonoids were isolated from the leaves of C. papaya, including quercetin 3-(2~G-rhamnosylrutinoside), kaempferol 3-(2~G-rhamnosylrutinoside), quercetin 3-rutinoside, myricetin 3-rhamnoside, kaempferol 3-rutinoside, quercetin, and kaempferol. All of the substances exhibited potent activities on peroxynitrite scavenging(IC50 4.15 mmol/L), which were stronger than the positive control, L-penicillamine(6.90 mmol/L). The content of kaempferol 3-(2~G-rhamnosylrutinoside) was significantly higher than other identified compounds(123.18 mg/g Bu OH fraction and 7.23 mg/g Me OH extract).Conclusions: The results of the present study demonstrate the potent antioxidant flavonoids of C. papaya leaf, with kaempferol 3-(2~G-rhamnosylrutinoside) as the major one.

High-dimensional entanglement is a valuable resource for secure and efficient quantum information processing.A major challenge for practical use of multidimensional quantum systems is the establishment of controls over arbitrary superposition states in realistic conditions. This work demonstrates spatially entangled photon pairs propagating through two separate four-core optical fibers with the amplitudes and phases of the superposition being independently controllable. Using quantum state analyzers that can detect arbitrary multicore superposition states, Bell-type CGLMP inequalities in two, three, and four dimensions are directly tested. Enhanced violation of the inequality by slight nonmaximality of entanglement is also demonstrated.

Using capacitance,conductance and noise measurements,we investigate the trapping behavior at the surface and in the core of triangular-shaped one-dimensional (1 D) array of GaN nanowire gate-all-around field effect transistor (GAA FET),fabricated via a top-down *** surface traps in such a low dimensional device play a crucial role in determining the device *** estimated surface trap density rapidly decreases with increasing frequency,ranging from 6.07 × 1012 cm-2·eV-1 at 1 kHz to 1.90 × 1011 cm-2·eV-1 at 1 MHz,*** noise results reveal that the power spectral density increases with gate voltage and clearly exhibits 1/f-noise signature in the accumulation region (Vgs > Vth =3.4 V) for all *** the surface depletion region (1.5 V < Vgs < Vth),the device is governed by 1/fat lower frequencies and 1/f2 noise at frequencies higher than ~ 5 *** 1/f2 noise characteristics is attributed to additional generation-recombination (G-R),mostly caused by the electron trapping/detrapping process through deep traps located in the surface depletion region of the *** cutoff frequency for the 1/f2 noise characteristics further shifts to lower frequency of 102-103 Hz when the device operates in deep-subthreshold region (Vgs < 1.5 V).In this regime,the electron trapping/detrapping process through deep traps expands into the totally depleted nanowire core and the G-R noise prevails in the entire nanowire channel.

In this study,the correlation between simulated and measured radar velocity spectrum width(σ_(v))is *** results show that the dendrites growth zones(DGZs)and needles growth zones(NGZs)mostly contain dendrites(DN)and needles(NE),***σ_(v) zones(1.11.2 m s^(-1),a differential reflectivity(ZDR)higher than 0 dB,and a cross-correlation coefficient(ρhv)less than *** contrast,prolate particles with relatively uniform shapes were observed in the NGZ withσ_(v)<0.6 m s^(-1),a ZDR less than 0 dB,andρhv higher than *** simulation results show that the DN exhibited a largerσ_(v) compared to the NE,and this observedσ_(v) was strongly dependent on the wind fluctuations(v’)due to turbulence or wind *** contrast,the NE exhibited a significantly smallσ_(v)~0.55 m s^(-1),which converges irrespective of v’.In addition,a strong correlation between the measuredσ_(v) values at five radar elevation angles(θ=6.2°,9.1°,13.1°,19°,and 80°)and those simulated in this study confirmed the significance of the analysis results.

Described is an initial attempt to simulate the suspended sediment dynamics relating to tidal and wave forcing during summertime in June 1980 and August 1981 for the Yellow and East China Seas continental shelf. The cohesive/non-cohesive sediment resuspension and movement generated by the interaction between current and wave are modeled by use of ECOMSED and WAM Cycle 4. Model results are compared with observations in US-China Marine Sedimentation Dynamics Program performed for 1980-81 at off the Changjiang estuary. The main features of simulations show that suspended sediment concentrations during the summer decreased markedly offshore as observed during the simulation periods. As for some discrepancies for the mouth of the estuary with high river discharges, i.e., the Changjiang River, the model did not properly reproduce the over-mixing situation in the summer; thus distinct vertical concentration variation in this local region is not agreeable with observation. However, general dispersal patterns of suspended sediment movement seem to be agreeably reproduced for the nearshore shallow region. Some of the procedures of simulation and results are presented and discussed.

The concentration of cosmogenic loBe in riverine sediments has been widely used as a proxy for catchment-wide denudation rate （CWDR）. One of the key assumptions of this approach is that sediments originating from sub-basins with different erosional histories are well mixed. A tragic debris flow occurred in the Seti River watershed, central Nepal, on May 5, 2012. This catastrophic debris flow was triggered by slope failure on the peak of Annapurna IV and resulted in many casualties in the lower Seti Khola. However, it provided an opportunity to test the assumption of equal mixing of sediments in an understudied rapidly eroding watershed. This study documents the CWDR of ^10Be to evaluate the extent of the influence of episodic erosional processes such as debris flow on the spatio-temporal redistribution of loBe concentrations. Our data show that the debris flow caused little change in CWDR across the debris flow event. In addition to isotopic measurement, we calculated denudation rates by using the modeled concentrations in pre- and post-landslide sediments based on the local ^10Be production rate. The modeled result showed little change across the event, indicating that the debris flow in May 2012 played a minor role in sediment evacuation, despite the rapid erosion in the catchment. Our study concludes that although the 2012 event caused many casualties and severe damage, it was a low-magnitude, high frequency event.

This study aims to contribute to improving mental health services and establishing a direction for disaster survivors by verifying the effectiveness of the TLS(Training for Life Skills)app,a mental health management mobile ***,22 disaster survivors received access to the app(with guidance)for eight weeks;we analyzed its effectiveness by examining each participant’s electroencephalography data,which were collected while they were utilizing the *** results of this study show that the use of the TLS app had a significant positive effect on emotional quotient,basic rhythm quotient(left brain,right brain),alpha blocking rate(left brain,right brain),and brain quotient of disaster *** TLS mobile app is expected to not only provide psychological first aid to disaster survivors but also to improve their life skills,which may allow them to gain information about their emotions;hence,it may provide the appropriate conditions needed to enable effective self-control and health management for disaster survivors.

Korean freshwater snails of the genus Semisulcospira are widely distributed across East *** has been a very popular nutritional food in Korea,and is an ecologically important water quality indicator because it lives only in clean ***,no microsatellite markers have been generated to study the population genetic diversity of this *** the present study,we developed and characterized 18 novel microsatellite loci from Semisulcospira coreana genomic *** microsatellites were isolated using 454 GS-FLX titanium sequencing and 18 markers were used for genotyping in *** addition,we also tested the cross-species transferability of the microsatellite markers in four additional Semisulcospira *** identified 18 polymorphic loci and the number of alleles per loci,and their polymorphism information content values ranged from 2 to 17 and 0.203 to 0.902,*** observed and expected heterozygosities of the loci ranged from 0.063 to 0.924 and 0.226 to 0.924,*** to the analysis of the cross-species transferability of these markers,four species,***,***,***,and ***,showed a very high transferability(80%–85%).These results show that this set of nuclear markers could be useful for population genetics studies of this species and closely related species.
