Objective: To determine whether body size and perceived figure, both current and historical, are associated with a diagnosis of endometriosis on laparoscopy. Design: Cohort study of consecutively identified patients undergoing laparoscopy for tubal sterilization or as a diagnostic procedure. Setting: Two university-affiliated hospitals. Patient(s): A cohort of 84 women aged 18-40 years. Endometriosis was visualized in 32 cases; 52 women (controls) had no visualized endometriosis, including 22 undergoing tubal sterilization and 30 with other gynecologic pathology. Intervention(s): None. main Outcome measure(s): Body mass index (BmI, kg/m2) from self-report and perception of body figure were compared for their ability to predict case status (diagnosed endometriosis), using logistic regression models. longitudinal trends in BmI based on perceived figure at 5-year intervals from age 15 years were compared using mixed linear models. Result(s): Based on self-report, women diagnosed with endometriosis were taller, thinner, and had a significantly lower BmI. In this series, cases were more likely to be late maturers (menarche at ≥14 y) and late to initiate sexual activity (≥21 y), and they were less likely to be gravid, parous, and a current smoker. Adjusting for age (in years), being tall (height ≥68 in), and parity (yes vs. no), a higher current BmI was statistically protective for a diagnosis of endometriosis, regardless of whether BmI was determined by self-report (adjusted odds ratio AOR = 0.88, 95%confidence interval CI 0.79-0.99) or from perceived figure (AOR = 0.86, 95%CI 0.75-0.99). For every unit increase in BmI (kg/m2), there was an approximate 12%-14%decrease in the likelihood of being diagnosedwith endometriosis. In an adjusted repeated measures model, BmI was 21.3 ±0.6 kg/m2 (estimate ±SE) for women with endometriosis, compared with 23.2 ±0.4 kg/m2 for the controls, a difference over all ages of-1.9 ±0.8 kg/m2. Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(sam.l.s doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 m.l.,0.5 m.l.,2.0 m.l.,and 4.0 m.l.)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for sam.l.s doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Within the past ten years,spark plasma sintering(SPS)has become an increasingly popular process for mg *** the SPS process,interparticle diffusion of compressed particles is rapidly achieved due to the concept of Joule *** to traditional and additive manufacturing(Am)techniques,SPS gives unique control of the structural and microstructural features of mg *** doing so,their mechanical,tribological,and corrosion properties can be *** great advancements in this field have been made,these pieces of knowledge are scattered and have not been contextualized into a single *** motivation of this work is to address this scientific gap and to provide a groundwork for understanding the basics of SPS manufacturing for *** do so,the existing body of SPS mg literature was first surveyed,with a focus on their structural formation and degradation *** was found that successful mg SPS fabrication highly depended on the processing temperature,particle size,and particle *** addition of metal and ceramic composites also affected their microstructural features due to the Zener pinning *** degradative environments,their performance depends on their structural features and whether they have secondary phased *** industrial applications,SPS'd mg was found to have great potential in biomedical,hydrogen storage,battery,automotive,and recycling *** prospects to advance the field include using mg as a doping agent for crystallite size refinement and using bulk metallic mg-based glass powders for amorphous SPS *** these findings,the interactions of m.l.i-composites on the processing-structure-property relationships of SPS mg is not well *** total,this work will provide a useful direction in the SPS field and serve as a m.l.stone for future mg-based SPS manufacturing.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the internal corrosion process on X52 and X80 steels/real petroleum interfaces containing condensed hydrocarbon plus oilfield-produced water,which were subjected to stim.l.ted em.l.ions using 50/50 vol ratio mixtures at 45℃,different hydrodynamic conditions,1 h,and 24 h.A washing process by using deionized water was proposed to sim.l.te and identify the corrosiveness of the hydrocarbon phase after 24 h of exposure *** characterization by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the monitoring of the polarization curves indicated that X80 steel/oilfield-produced water interfaces were more susceptible to corrosion than X52 steel exposed to oilfield-produced *** combined speed rotation of 600 rpm using a magnetic stirrer+600 rpm using a rotating disk electrode decreased the corrosion rate on X52 *** stim.l.ted em.l.ions made of hydrocarbon+oilfield-produced water and hydrocarbon+deionized water at 24 h increased the corrosion rate on X80 steel(0.34 mm/year and 0.43 mm/year,respectively),promoting the formation of erosion and pitting *** types of corrosion depended mainly on the physicochemical properties of the hydrocarbon,oilfield-produced water,exposure times,and hydrodynamic systems in which the hydrocarbon was studied.

The therm.l.examination of a non-integer-ordered mobile fin with a magnetism in the presence of a trihybrid nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-blood) is carried out. Three types of nanoparticles, each having a different shape, are considered. These shapes include spherical(Fe_3O_4), cylindrical(Au), and platelet(Zn) configurations. The combination approach is utilized to evaluate the physical and therm.l.characteristics of the trihybrid and hybrid nanofluids, excluding the therm.l.conductivity and dynamic viscosity. These two properties are inferred by means of the interpolation method based on the volume fraction of nanoparticles. The governing equation is transformed into a dimensionless form, and the Adomian decomposition Sumudu transform method(ADSTm) is adopted to solve the conundrum of a moving fin immersed in a trihybrid nanofluid. The obtained results agree well with those numerical sim.l.tion results, indicating that this research is reliable. The influence of diverse factors on the therm.l.overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphical representations. Furthermore, the fluctuations in the heat transfer concerning the pertinent parameters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presence of the combination of spherical, cylindrical, and platelet nanoparticles is higher than that in the presence of the combination of only spherical and cylindrical nanoparticles. The temperature at the fin tip increases by 0.705 759% when the value of the Peclet number increases by 400%, while decreases by 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartman number increases by 400%.
