In this Paper, a classification method based on neural networks is presented for recognition of 3D objects. Indeed, the objective of this paper is to classify an object query against objects in a database, which leads to recognition of the former. 3D objects of this database are transformations of other objects by one element of the overall transformation. The set of transformations considered in this work is the general affine group.

A Prospective Study of the Effect of Different Palliative Radiotherapy Fractionation Schedules on Tumor Response and Toxicity in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) Patients

Background: The optimal dose of palliative radiotherapy (RT) in symptomatic advanced lung cancer is unclear. Patients and methods: Patients with advanced NSCLC who were indicated for thoracic palliative RT with age up to 65 y and Performance Status (PS) 0 - 2 and no significant cardiac or lung co-morbidities were randomized into two fractionation arms: arm A: 30 gy/10 over 2 weeks and arm B: 27 gy/6 over 3 weeks (2 fractions per week) using 2 anterior posterior (AP-PA) fields in both arms. Primary end points were symptomatic and radiological tumor response, respiratory functions assessment. Secondary end point was toxicity. Results: From December 2014 to October 2015, 40 patients were randomized, 20 patients in each arm. There was statistically insignificant higher symptomatic improvement in arm B. Four weeks after treatment, 12 out of 40 patients (30%), 6 patients in each arm, had radiological Partial Response (PR) of the primary thoracic lesion without significant difference between the two arms. There was a tendency for improvement in the post treatment mean Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) and Forced Expiratory Volume in one second (FEV1) in each arm without statistical significance. There were no reported skin reactions or esophagitis in both arms up to 4 weeks after treatment. Eleven out of the 40 patients (27.5%), 6 in arm B and 5 in arm A, had radiological signs of radiation pneumonitis without significant difference between both arms. Conclusion: The two RT fractionation schedules showed equal efficacy in terms of symptoms relief, radiological response of the primary thoracic tumor, respiratory functions and toxicity. Thus the 27 gy/6 fractionation arm appears preferable compared to 30 gy/10 arm to minimize the patients’ visits and load on the machines.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged a major challenge and become the leading indication for liver transplantation. We aimed to assess the applicability and performance of real-time elastography (RTE) in diagnosis of liver fibrosis in patients with NAFLD compared with NAFLD fibrosis score (NFS) and FIB-4 index. Patients and Methods: A prospective case-control study was conducted on 260 subjects attended Hepatology, gastroenterology and Infectious diseases and Internal Medicine departments in Benha University Hospital from Marsh 20, 2018, to September 1, 2019 and divided into group I included 200 cases with NAFLD and group II included 60 healthy control subjects. Results: There was statistically significant increase in FIB-4 scores between two groups (1.39 ± 1.02 and -0.75 ± 0.32 respectively with p gnificant increase in NAFLD fibrosis score mean ± SD between two groups (-1.74 ± 1.17 and -2.75 ± 0.91 respectively with p ges in NAFLD patients significantly higher than in control group diagnosed by RTE (P = 0.001). There was an agreement between RTE and FIB-4 index (93%) and NAFLD fibrosis score (86%). Diagnostic performance of RTE in advanced liver fibrosis ≥ F3 was assessed in comparing with FIB-4 index show sensitivity 90%, specificity 93.3%, PPV 60%, NPV 98.8% and accuracy 93% with AUC0.917 (p = 0.001) and in comparing with NAFLD fibrosis score sensitivity 52.6%, specificity 93.8%, PPV 66.7%, NPV 98.4% and accuracy 86% with AUC 0.732 (p = 0.002). Conclusion: Real time elastography could be valuable in diagnosis of fibrosis in NAFLD especially in cases more than F3 score.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of platelet rich growth factors (PRgFs) in treatment of temporomandibular joint disc displacement. Materials and Methods: The study subjects included 8 females having bilateral anterior disc displacement with reduction and 1 female having bilateral anterior disc displacement without reduction with the age range between 20 - 35 years. The process of obtaining PRgFs was carried out following the Anitua Technique. Results: Clinical parameters of Interincisal distance, Lateral excursion of mandible using digital caliper in millimeters and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS 0/10) for pain intensity score were used. All of these parameters were running through the intervals of two, four, and eight weeks till the end of the follow-up period at twenty-six weeks (six months). The participated patients showed the clinical improvement in the different clinical statuses such as interincisal distance;lateral excursion of mandible and Pain Score. Conclusion: the study reported early efficacy of PRgFs after the arthrocentesis of the joint in treatment of TMJ disc displacement, and according to our results, the injection of PRgFs could be a possible alternative treatment for patients who did not respond to standard treatment.

A benzophenone substituted semicarbazone, 2-((3-aminophenyl)(phenyl)methylene)hydrazinecarboxamide (APHC) had been synthesized in good yield by the condensation of 3-aminobenzophenone and semicarbazide hydrochloride. The title compound was elucidated by elemental analysis (CHN), FTIR, 1H and 13C-NMR, 1H-1H COSY, TgA and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallized in the orthorhombic crystal system with space group of Pccn, Z = 32, V = 10375.1 (2) ?3, and lattice constants a = 12.3855 (1) ?, b = 34.5746 (5) ?, c = 24.2283 (3) ??and γ = β = α = 90°. The molecular view shows that APHC contains four molecules of each species in the asymmetric unit, with similar geometries. However, there is no intramolecular hydrogen bond found in the crystal structure of the synthesized compound. X-ray diffraction also reveals that the molecule of the semicarbazone exists as a Z isomer with respect to the C=N.

Background: In Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM), left ventricular dysfunction is usually reversible within a few weeks. Complete recovery can however be very rapid. We report the case of Mrs. TA, a 53 year old patient who had a history of hypertension treated with atenolol and captopril. She was admitted with the diagnosis of non ST segment elevation myo-cardial infarction. The electrocardiogram showed anterior sub and the troponinI level was 3.48 mg/l. Echo-cardiography revealed a left ventricular (LV) ballooning and LV ejection fraction was 36%. A recent emotional stress was mentioned. TCM was suspected and emergency angiography showed apical ballooning with a normal coronary angiogram. There was a complete recovery in 72 hours with a normalization of regional and global LV function at echocardiography and angiography. Conclusion: There is a large variability in TCM evolution aspects probably due to a variable physiopathological mechanism which remains to be clarified.

The aim of this study is to clarify the effect of different concentrations of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (Nps) on the properties of two types of heat polymerized acrylic resin. The tested parameters were flexural strength, impact strength, and microhardness. The two types of acrylic resin used in this study were conventional unmodified (Implacryl, Vertex) and high impact heat polymerized acrylic resin (Vertex-Dental, Netherlands). Both types of acrylic resin were modified by using 1% and 5% TiO2 Nps powder. Specimen’s dimensions were prepared according to the American Dental Association Specification No. 12. Three types of specimens were prepared: 1) flexural strength specimens 50 mm × 10 (±0.2) mm × 3 (±0.2) mm, 2) impact strength test specimens 60 mm × 6.0 mm × 4.0 mm, 3) microhardnesss specimens 25 mm × 10 mm × 3 (±0.2) mm. For each test 6 groups were prepared (each group containing 5 samples). Thirty specimens were prepared in each of the three tests, amounting to a total number of 90 specimens. Mechanical properties such as flexural strength (FS), impact strength and microhardness of the above mentioned specimens were determined using universal testing machine, Izod pendulum impact testing machine and Vickers microhardness tester, respectively. ISO Specification No. 1567 was followed in microhardness test. The data was collected and statistically analyzed. Flexural strength considerably decreased by increasing TiO2 concentration in both types of acrylic resin. Impact strength of the conventional acrylic resin modified by 1% of additives significantly increased. The microhardness is significantly increased by addition of 5% of TiO2 Nps. The Incorporation of TiO2 nanoparticles into acrylic resins can adversely affect its flexural strength. Meanwhile, the impact strength can be modified by small percentage of additives (abt. 1%). 随着中国的发展,中国跟阿拉伯国家的合作越来越多,中国和阿拉伯国家在经济、文化等方面的交流越来越频繁。为了能够加强两国的良好关系,不少阿拉伯的学习者开始接触并学习汉语,学习者对词典的使用需求自然而然地会增加,对词典的要求也会提高。随着技术的发展,出现了新款词典“手机词典”。手机词典成为目前最受外语学习者欢迎的一种词典,它是下载到智能手机里的词典,包括学汉语用的词典,手机汉语词典是目前最符合阿拉伯语学习者使用需求的汉语词典。本论文主要研究现在阿拉伯国家大学生对手机汉语词典的认知态度、选择因素、使用情况及使用需求,提出汉阿手机词典存在的问题,并对汉阿手机词典给出合理的改良建议。本文共分为五章。第一章绪论,介绍选题的背景、研究现状、研究目的及意义、研究内容及方法。第二章主要内容为阿拉伯学生学汉阿手机APP词典使用及需求调查研究,通过调查问卷进行数据分析。三章则主要分析阿拉伯学生最常用的汉阿手机APP词典,浅论目前阿拉伯学生汉阿词典使用的手机APP的基本情况以及存在的问题。第四章汉阿手机APP词典编写设想和建议,根据第二章的调查结果,总结出可以满足与符合阿拉伯学生需求的手机汉语词典特征。并给出对阿拉伯学生汉阿手机词典的改良建议。第五章结语,对本文研究进行总结,提出本文的创新点与不足。
