[previous Study] there are many studies about effects of muscle stretching and the results are improvement of R.O.M., circulation and performance, prevention of muscle contracture and muscle or tendon injury during performance and recovery from fatigue. We also studied the effects of prolonged muscle stretching both of in vivo and in vitro since 1996. [Method & Results in vivo] the photo-stimulation response time of knee extension has been measured before and after 60sec quadriceps femoris stretching. the result was that only motion time was significantly delayed. the study of a-motor neuron excitation has been done on soleus muscle for different stretching time. the result was that H-wave amplitudes after 30 and 60sec stretching were smaller than its of control and 5 sec stretching. there are two EMG studies of effects of muscle stretching. After muscle stretching for 60sec, the latency of knee extension reflex was significantly delayed comparative to the value of control and the duration time of muscle activity after 30sec stretching was significantly shorter than it of control. the study of stretching on fatigue muscle has been done using surface EMG power spectral analysis. the results were that the beginning of low frequency appearance was delayed and mean integrative value increasing timing was delayed. [Conclusion in vivo study] these results from in vivo studies suggest that prolonged stretching inhibits muscle excitability and contribute the recovery from fatigue. [Method & Results in vitro] On the other hand, muscle force, miniature end plate potential (MEpp) and end plate potential (Epp) were studied in vitro before and after prolonged muscle stretching. On soleus muscle of rat, muscle force significantly increased after stretching but EDL (extensor digitorum longus) force did not change. two minutes stretching to fatigued rat soleus muscle was effectiveness for recovery. the values of amplitude and frequency of MEpp were no-significant difference between

Coupled simulation of BES-CFD and performance assessment of energy recovery ventilation system for office model

thermal comfort and indoor air quality as well as the energy efficiency have been recognized as essential parts of sustainable building assessment. this work aims to analyze the energy conservation of the heat recovery ventilator and to investigate the effect of the air supply arrangement. three types of mixing ventilation are chosen for the analysis of coupling ANSYS/FLUENt （a computational fluid dynamics （CFD） program） with tRNSYS （a building energy simulation （BES） software）. the adoption of mutual complementary boundary conditions for CFD and BES provides more accurate and complete information of indoor air distribution and thermal performance in buildings. A typical office-space situated in a middle storey is chosen for the analysis. the office-space is equipped with air-conditioners on the ceiling. A heat recovery ventilation system directly supplies flesh air to the office space. Its thermal performance and indoor air distribution predicted by the coupled method are compared under three types of ventilation system. When the supply and return openings for ventilation are arranged on the ceiling, there is no critical difference between the predictions of the coupled method and BES on the energy consumption of HVAC because pID control is adopted for the supply air temperature of the occupied zone. On the other hand, approximately 21% discrepancy for the heat recovery estimation in the maximum between the simulated results of coupled method and BES-only can be obviously found in the floor air supply ventilation case. the discrepancy emphasizes the necessity of coupling CFD with BES when vertical air temperature gradient exists. Our future target is to estimate the optimum design of heat recovery ventilation system to control CO2 concentration by adjusting flow rate of flesh air.

Relationship between primary Crystal temperature and Carbon Equivalent in Cast Iron

CE （=%C＋（1/3）x（%Si）） does not suit experiment results in many cases. In this work, the effect of alloy elements on primary crystal temperature was measured and the relationship between primary crystal temperature （tc） and carbon equivalent （CEL） was investigated. the results show that tc （Celsius degree） = 1650-110 × （%C） -25 × （%Si）＋3 × （%Mn） -35 × （%p） -71 × （%5）-2 × （%Ni） -7 × （%Cr）; CEL=%C ＋ 0.23×（%Si）-0.03× （%Mn）＋0.32×（%p）＋0.64×（%S）＋0.02×（%Ni）＋0.06×（%Cr）. that is, in hypo eutectic composition, carbon equivalent should be calculated with CEL=%C＋ 0.23×（%Si）, not with CE=%C＋（1/3） x（%Si）.

Effects of gamma-ray irradiation on electronic and non-electronic equipment of Large Helical Device

In a deuterium operation on the Large Helical Device, the measurement and control equipment placed in the toms hall must survive under an environment of radiation, to study the effects of gamma-ray irradiation on the equipment, an irradiation experiment is performed at the Cobalt-60 irradiation facility of Nagoya University. transient and permanent effects on a personal computer, media converters, programmable logic controllers, isolation amplifiers, a web camera, optical flow meters, and water sealing gaskets are experimentally surveyed. transient noise appears on the web camera. Offset of the signal increases with an increase of the integrated dose on the programmable logic controller. the DeviceNet module on the programmable logic controller is broken at the integrated dose of 72 Gy, which is the expected range of the integrated dose of the toms hall. the other equipment can survive under the gamma-ray field in the toms hall.

Effect of Water Vapor on the Oxidation of pt-modified Ni-22Al Alloys

Cyclic oxidation behavior of two-phaseγ+γ'-Ni-22Al-5 and -10 pt alloys in air with and without 30 vol.%H_2O at 1000℃was *** oxidation of 5 and 10 pt alloys in air was initially rapid and followed by a slow steady-state *** oxidation during this steady-state stage was followed the parabolic rate law,and the parabolic rate constants for the two different pt content alloys were *** the mass change of 5 pt alloy during the initial rapid oxidation stage was much higher than that of 10 pt,and it resulted in higher oxidation mass gain on 5 pt alloy after 500 *** oxidation behavior,initial rapid followed by slow steady-state,was observed when the alloys were oxidized in air+30%H_2O,however the initial oxidation mass change in the wet atmosphere was much higher for both alloys than in ***,the oxidation rate constants for both alloys during the steady-state stage significantly decreased in the atmosphere with water ***,oxidation mass gain on the 5 pt alloy was not observed after about 100 cycles of oxidation.

Asymptotics for the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers Equation

We study large time asymptotics of solutions to the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation ut＋uux-uxx＋uxxx=0,x∈R,t〉0. We are interested in the large time asymptotics for the case when the initial data have an arbitrary size. We prove that if the initial data u0 ∈H^s （R）∩L^1 （R）, where s 〉 -1/2, then there exists a unique solution u （t, x） ∈C^∞ （（0,∞）;H^∞ （R）） to the Cauchy problem for the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation, which has asymptotics u（t）=t^-1/2fM（（·）t^-1/2）＋0（t^-1/2） as t →∞, where fM is the self-similar solution for the Burgers equation. Moreover if xu0 （x） ∈ L^1 （R）, then the asymptotics are true u（t）=t^-1/2fM（（·）t^-1/2）＋O（t^-1/2-γ） where γ ∈ （0, 1/2）.

Statistical manipulation of material data was conducted for probabilistic life assessment or risk-based design and maintenance for high temperature components of power plants. to obtain the statistical distribution of material properties, dominant parameters affecting material properties are introduced into normalization of statistical variables. those parameters are hardness, chemical composition, characteristic micro structural features and so on. Creep and fatigue properties are expressed by normalized parameters and the unified statistical distributions are obtained. these probability distribution functions show good coincidence statistically with the field database of steam turbine components. It was concluded that the unified statistical baseline approach is useful for the risk management of components in power plants.

predictors of kidney tubular dysfunction induced by adefovir treatment for chronic hepatitis B

AIM:to investigate the predictors of proximal kidney tubular dysfunction(pKtD)induced by adefovir dipivoxil(ADV)treatment for chronic hepatitis ***:Seventy-nine patients(age at the evaluation of pKtD:56.9±10.7 years)with chronic hepatitis B undergoing long-term oral antiviral nucleos(t)ide analogue treatment were consecutively *** was defined by the presence of at least two of the following five abnormalities:phosphate diabetes,nondiabetic glucosuria,metabolic acidosis,β2-microglobulinuria,or renal *** single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNps)in the SLC22A6 gene encoding human organic anion transporter 1(h OAt1)and ABCC2 encoding multidrug resistance protein 2(MRp2)were analyzed using the taq Man Allelic Discrimination Demonstration ***:Nine(30.0%)of the 30 ADV-treated patients were diagnosed with pKtD,while no patients without ADV developed pKtD(pthree patients with ADV were diagnosed with symptomatic *** the patients who took ADV,those with pKtD were of higher age at initiation,had significantly longer treatment duration,and had a significantly lower body mass index than those without *** incidence of pKtD dramatically increased after 96 mo from the start of ADV *** contrast,the SNps were not correlated with *** regression analysis extracted older age at initiation(OR=5.0,95%CI:1.1-23.4;p=0.040)and longer treatment duration(OR=3.2,95%CI:1.2-8.6;p=0.020)as significant factors associated with ***:Our results suggest that the tubular function of the kidney of older patients undergoing longterm ADV treatment should be carefully evaluated.

transmission power lines are a common source of extremely low frequency(ELF) magnetic fields which are usually analyzed as serial lines in one *** vertical-type double-circuit power lines,which are generally used in Japan,sometimes carry different current for each circuit and change *** this paper,we focused on both the angle of direction change and the current balance in order to clarify the characteristics of distribution of magnetic fields at a height of 1 *** magnetic field distributions were analyzed considering both the angle of power lines changing direction and the current balance of each *** total magnetic field under overhead vertical-type double-circuit power lines with same current was generally reduced in comparison with that under a single-circuit power line due to phase *** total magnetic fields around the turning point where the change of transmission lines direction increased because each circuit came closer in that *** component of B_z effect on total magnetic field was greatest around the maximum of total magnetic fields nearby the turning point.
