Extreme precipitation is exacerbating the burden of infectious diarrhea in the context of climate change,it is necessary to identify the critical and easy-to-intervene intermediate factors for public health *** quality may be the most important mediator,while relevant empirical evidence is *** study aimed to examine the role of water quality in the process of infectious diarrhea caused by extreme *** infectious diarrhea cases,meteorological factors and water quality data in Yangtze River Basin in china between October 29,2007 to February 19,2017 were ***-stage statistical models were used to estimate city-specific extreme precipitation,water quality and infectious diarrhea relationships that were pooled to derive regional estimates.A causal mediation analysis was used to assess the mediation effect of water *** Yangtze River Basin,extreme precipitation events had a significant impact on infectious diarrhea(Incidence Rate Ratios[IRR]:1.027,95%confidence Interval[cI]:1.013~1.041).After extreme precipitation events,the dissolved oxygen(DO)in surface water decreased(-0.123 mg/L,95%cI:-0.159 mg/L~-0.086 mg/L),while the un-ionized ammonia(NH(3)-N)increased(0.004 mg/L,95%cI:0.001 mg/L~0.006 mg/L).The combined overall effect of DO and NH(3)-N on infectious diarrhea showed that both low and high concentrations were associated with an increased risk of infectious *** causal mediation analysis showed that the mediation proportion of the two water quality indexes(DO and NH(3)-N)is 70.54%(Pce the health effects of extreme precipitation,in contrast to current population-oriented health strategies,those that take into account more direct and easy-to-intervene water quality indicators should be encouraged by future policies.

Biomass control via UV Lamp Application and Nutrient Supply Restriction in the Biofiltration of Gaseous VOcs

Super-High Heat Flux Removal Using Sintered Metal Porous Media

Heat transfer experiments using various porous materials are performed to verify the possibility of extremely high heat flux removal （several dozens of MW/m^2）. The porous media introduced in this experiment are bronze particle-sintered ones and copper fibers-sintered ones that have high thermal conductivity, each of which can enhance the thermal diffusion in the porous material. From the heat transfer experiments using a non-transferred type of plasma arcjet as a high heat flux source, the steady heat removal of 66.0 MV~/m2 is proved by using the bronze porous medium whose pore size and porosity are 100 μm and 0.38, respectively. Furthermore, as the result of evaluating the heat removal performance for various copper fiber porous media with the porosity from 0.5 to 0.7 and the fiber diameter from 30 to 90 μm, it is clarified that the maximum cooling performance exceeds 70.0 MW/m^2 at the porosity of 0.7 and the fiber diameter of 90μm, and that using the lower porosity material is useful for improving an evaporation rate in the porous media.

Perspective for Future Medicine:Multidisciplinary computational Anatomy-Based Medicine with Artificial Intelligence

Multidisciplinary computational anatomy(McA)is a new frontier of science that provides a mathematical analysis basis for the comprehensive and useful understanding of“dynamic living human anatomy.”It defines a new mathematical modeling method for the early detection and highly intelligent diagnosis and treatment of incurable or intractable *** McA is a method of scientific research on innovative areas based on the medical images that are integrated with the information related to:(1)the spatial axis,extending from a cell size to an organ size;(2)the time series axis,extending from an embryo to post mortem body;(3)the functional axis on physiology or metabolism which is reflected in a variety of medical image modalities;and(4)the pathological axis,extending from a healthy physical condition to a diseased *** aims to integrate multiple prediction models such as multiscale prediction model,temporal prediction model,anatomy function prediction model,and anatomypathology prediction *** intelligence has been introduced to accelerate the calculation of statistic mathematical *** future perspective is expected to promote the development of human resources as well as a new McA-based scientific interdisciplinary field composed of mathematical statistics,information sciences,computing data science,robotics,and biomedical engineering and clinical *** McA-based medicine might be one of the solutions to overcome the difficulties in the current medicine.

Pancreatic involvement in chronic viral hepatitis

AIM: To elucidate the frequency and characteristics of pancreatic disorders in the course of chronic viral hepatitis. METHODS: We prospectively assessed the serum pancreatic enzyme levels and imaging findings in patients with chronic viral hepatitis and healthy control subjects. RESULTS: Serum amylase (t-Amy), salivary amylase (s-Amy), pancreatic amylase (p-Amy) and serum lipase levels were higher in hepatitis patients in comparison to control subjects. However, in asymptomatic viral carriers, only the serum t-Amy levels were higher than those of the controls. The levels of each enzyme rose with the progression of liver disease in patients with hepatitis B or c; whereas the levels of each enzyme within the same clinical stage of the disease did not differ between patients diagnosed with either hepatitis B or hepatitis c virus. Imaging findings demonstrated chronic pancreatitis in only 1 out of 202 patients (0.5%).cONcLUSION: Our data suggest that serum levels of pancreatic enzymes increase with the progression of liver disease in patients diagnosed with viral hepatitis. Pancreatic disease, asymptomatic in most cases, may represent an extrahepatic manifestation of chronic viral hepatitis.

Integration of Fault Analysis and Interlock controller Synthesis for Batch Processes

Integration amongst various decision-making processes, such as planning, design, and operation is necessary to dynamic and flexible batch production. To achieve a batch production integration, utilization of common models used for various decision-making processes is an effective approach. From this point of view, a batch system common model as described by a Petri net is proposed. In this article, a fault diagnosis technique for batch processes is presented using information about fault propagation and the possibilities of integration of fault analysis and controller synthesis are discussed on the basis of the Petri net based common models.
