a.sessment of Hea.y Meta.s Immobiliza.ion in a.tificia.ly Conta.ina.ed Soils Using Some Loca. a.endments

Three a.luvia. soil sa.ples with different textures were a.tificia.ly polluted with chloride solutions of Cd, Pb, Co a.d chroma.e solution for Cr. The a.ua.regia.extra.ted concentra.ion ra.ges in the a.tificia.ly polluted soils were 1134 - 1489 mg·kg-1 for Pb, 854 - 938 mg·kg-1 for Cr, 166 - 346 mg·kg-1 for Co a.d 44 - 54 mg·kg-1 for Cd. The a.ua.regia.extra.ted meta.s were the highest in the spiked cla. soil due to its high a.sorption ca.a.ity. Rock phospha.e (PR), lime-stone (LS) a.d Portla.d-cement (Cem) were mixed with the spiked soils a. 1% a.d 2% ra.es (w/w) a.d incuba.ed a. 30 C for 2, 7, 14, 30, 60, 150 a.d 360 da.s. The extra.ted DTPa.meta.s significa.tly decrea.ed with different ma.nitudes with increa.ing the incuba.ion period a.compa.ied by increa.es in both pH a.d EC. The da.a.showed tha. cement (Cem) trea.ment dropped the DTPa.Pb from @ 1000 to @ 400 mg·kg-1 in a.l the studied soils (60% decrea.e) in the first 2 months while it gra.ua.ly decrea.ed from 400 to 200 mg·kg-1 (20% decrea.e) in the next 10 months. Limestone (LS) a.d rock phospha.e (PR) ma.eria.s were rela.ively less effective in lowering DTPa.Pb a.ter 12 months of incuba.ion. The da.a.showed a.so tha. cement (Cem) trea.ment wa. the most effective one in lowering DTPa.Cd by @ 60% a. compa.ed to the un-a.ended soils a.ter 12 months of soil incuba.ion. Extra.ta.le DTPa.Co a.d Cr showed consistent decrea.es with time down to nea.ly 50% of un-a.ended soils due to the effect of the a.ded a.endments a.ter 12 months of incuba.ion with superior reductions for the cement trea.ment in a.l the investiga.ed soils. The sta.istica. a.a.ysis confirmed tha. in a.l the studied meta.s a.d trea.ment, cement trea.ment (Cem) wa. significa.tly the most effective in lowering the DTPa.extra.ted meta.s a. indica.ed from LSD test. It wa. found tha. up to 73% a.d 57% of the a.plied Pb a.d Cd, respectively, were fixed by only 1% cement. However, the present study showed tha. from the pra.tica. a.d economic points of view

Methods: a. online questionna.re wa. used to survey ten Leba.ese oncologists from six different hospita.s, between July 5 a.d July 11, 2022, requesting informa.ion perta.ning to their current clinica. pra.tice in the pha.ma.ologica. trea.ment of loca.ly a.va.ced meta.ta.ic urothelia. ca.cinoma. Key Findings: Cispla.in-ba.ed chemothera.y wa. the most frequently reported initia. trea.ment of loca.ly a.va.ced meta.ta.ic urothelia. ca.cinoma. Pa.ticipa.ts reported using immune checkpoint inhibitors in pla.inum-ineligible pa.ients a.d those with PDL1 positive tumors. a.so, they would not consider the concomita.t use of immunothera.y a.d chemothera.y in the first-line setting.
