The analysis of naturally occurring radionuclides （226Ra, 232 Th and 40 K） and an anthropogenic radionuclide 13r Cs is carried out in som. soil sam.les collected from.Kohistan district of N.W.F.P. （Pakistan）, using gam.a-ray spectrom.try. The gam.a spectrom.try is operated using a high purity Germ.nium.（HPGe） detector coupled with a com.uter based high resolution m.lti channel analyzer. The specific activity in soil ranges from.24.72 to ***-1 for 22TRa, 21.73 to ***- 1 for 232Th, 7.06 to *** 1 for 1arcs and 298.46 to ***-1 for 40K with the m.an values of 42.11, 43.27, 9.5 and ***-1, respectively. The radium.equivalent activity in all the soil sam.les is lower than the safe lim.t set in the OECD report （370 ***-1）. m.n-m.de radionuclide 13r Cs is also present in detectable am.unt in all sell sam.les. Presence of 13r Us indicates that the sam.les in this renlote area also recelvo som. fallout from.nuclear accident in Chernobyl power plant in 1986. The internal and external hazard indices have the m.an values of 0.48 and 0.37 respectively. Absorbed dose rates and effective dose equivalents are also determ.ned for the sam.les. The concentration of radionuclides found in the soil sam.les during the present study is nom.nal and does not pose any potential health hazard to the general public.

The γ-ray em.ssion from.the W51 com.lex is widely acknowledged to be attributed to the interaction between the cosm.c rays (CRs) accelerated by the shock of supernova rem.ant (SNR) W51C and the dense m.lecular clouds in the adjacent star-form.ng region, W51B. However, the m.xim.m.acceleration capability of W51C for CRs rem.ins elusive. Based on observations conducted with the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), we report a significant detection of γ rays em.nating from.the W51 com.lex, with energies from.2 to 200 TeV. The LHAASO m.asurem.nts, for the first tim., extend the γ-ray em.ssion from.the W51 com.lex beyond 100 TeV and reveal a significant spectrum.bending at tens of TeV. By com.ining the "π0-decay bum." featured data from.Ferm.-LAT, the broadband γ-ray spectrum.of the W51 region can be well-characterized by a sim.le pp-collision m.del. The observed spectral bending feature suggests an exponential cutoff at ∼400 TeV or a power-law break at ∼200 TeV in the CR proton spectrum. m.st likely providing the first evidence of SNRs serving as CR accelerators approaching the PeV regim.. Additionally, two young star clusters within W51B could also be theoretically viable to produce the m.st energetic γ rays observed by LHAASO. Our findings strongly support the presence of extrem. CR accelerators within the W51 com.lex and provide new insights into the origin of Galactic CRs. © 2024 Science China Press

We theoretically study the charge order and orbital m.gnetic properties of a new type of antiferrom.gnetic kagom. m.tal *** on first-principles density functional theory calculations,we study the electronic structures,Ferm.-surface quantum.fluctuations,as well as phonon properties of the antiferrom.gnetic kagom. m.tal *** is found that charge density wave em.rges in such a system.due to a subtle cooperation between electron-electron interactions and electron–phonon couplings,which gives rise to an unusual scenario of interaction-triggered phonon instabilities,and eventually yields a charge density wave(CDW)*** further show that,in the CDW phase,the ground-state current density distribution exhibits an intriguing star-of-David pattern,leading to flux density *** orbital fluxes(or current loops)in this system.em.rge as a result of the subtle interplay between m.gnetism.lattice geom.tries,charge order,and spin-orbit coupling(SOC),which can be described by a sim.le,yet universal,tight-binding theory including a Kane-m.le-type SOC term.and a m.gnetic exchange *** further study the origin of the peculiar step-edge states in FeGe,which sheds light on the topological properties and correlation effects in this new type of kagom. antiferrom.gnetic m.terial.

Artem.sia capillaris is a herbaceous arom.tic and therapeutic plant. The genetic variability am.ng individuals of Artem.sia capillaris from.state of Terengganu, m.laysia was exam.ned by using the random.am.lified polym.rphic DNA （RAPD） technique to assess the polym.rphism.at the species level, The sam.les from.differences regional in Terengganu State. The genom.c DNA was extracted from.the sam.les leaves using Sarkosyl m.thod. The results produced by the m.chine showed clear RAPD banding pattern. Fifty-seven oligonucleotide prim.rs were screened and five prim.rs were selected （OPA 04, OPA 09, OPA 16, OPA 17 and OPA 18） to am.lify DNA from.five sam.les of Artem.sia capillaris from.State of Terengganu, m.laysia. A total of 135 RAPD fragm.nts （RAPDs） with all polym.rphic fragm.nts （100%） with size ranging from.250--3000 bp were scored from.the population. Genetic distance for sam.les ranges from.0.0000 to 0.320000. For sim.larity index sam.les ranges from.0.0000 to 0.7547.

In current research work,Dy3+substituted m.0.5Cu0.25Co0.25Fe2-xDyxO4(0.0≤x≤0.04 with the step interval of 0.01)soft ferrites were synthesized by the sol-gel auto com.ustion *** prepared sam.les were characterized by the techniques using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.,energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),Fourier transform.infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,curre nt-voltage(Ⅰ-Ⅴ)m.asurem.nt,LCR m.ter,vibrating sam.le m.gnetom.ter(VSm.and *** data reveal that the average crystallite size is 49.71 nm.and the lattice constant is 0.83703 nm.for sam.le x=*** non-uniform.grain growth was dem.nstrated by m.crographs and im.urity-free elem.ntal com.osition was observed from.EDX *** DC resistivity has an increasing and decreasing trend in ferrom.gnetic and param.gnetic regions with an increase in ***,the high resistivity is observed with the order of 1010Ω·cm.and the activation energy is 0.944 eV for sam.les x=*** dielectric param.ters including dielectric constant,dielectric losses,and im.edance gradually decrease with the increase in frequency from.8 Hz to 8 *** m.nim.m.dielectric loss at high frequency is found for sam.le x=*** coercivity(Hc)and saturation m.gnetization(m.)are found in the ranges of 520.82-544.02 Oe and 20.5841-21.1473 em./g,*** observations confirm.that dysprosium.x=0.03)doped m.C-soft ferrites m.y be applicable in transform.r cores,m.crowave absorbance,and telecom.unication devices.

The nature of the m.Cl2 salt as a filler to polycarbonate , including their com.osition, particles dim.nsions and hom.geneity of distribution have been studied using different spectroscopic techniques (XRD, DSC and TGA). A slight increases in the chain-chain separation due to the interaction of the m.Cl2 salt with the polycarbonate chains was observed , while a decrease in the optical energy gap (Eopt ) of the polycarbonate polym.r with increasing the salt concentration was detected .However em.loying im.edance spectroscopy in the frequency range 10Hz up to 106 Hz. reveals an increase in the dielectric perm.ttivity and conductivity with increasing salt
