Organic solar cells(OSCs)in terms of power conversion efficiency(PCE)and operational lifetime have made remarkable progress during the last decade by improving the active layer materials and introducing new *** newly developed wide bandgap organic donor and low bandgap acceptor molecules covered the absorption from the visible to the near-infrared *** the incident high energy region(UV)is not in favor of *** absorption causes thermalization losses and photoinduced degradation,which hinders the PCE and lifetime of ***,lanthanide and non-lanthanide-based down-conversion(DC)materials have been introduced,which can effectively convert the high-energy photons(UV)to low-energy photons(visible)and resolve the spectral mismatch losses that limit the absorption of OSCs in high energy incident ***,the DC materials also protect the OSCs from UV-induced *** DC materials were also proposed to cross the Shockley-Queisser efficiency limit of the solar *** this review,the need for DC materials and their processing method for OSCs have been thoroughly ***,the main emphasis has been given to developing lanthanides and non-lanthanides-based DC materials for OSCs,their applications,and their impact on photovoltaic device performance,stability,and future perspectives.

High-temperature CO2electrolysis via solid oxide electrolysis cells (CO2-SOECs) has drawn special attention due to the high energy convention efficiency,fast electrode kinetics,and great potential in carbon ***,the development of cathode materials with high catalytic activity and chemical stability for pure CO2electrolysis is still a great *** this work,A-site cation deficient dual-phase material,namely(Pr0.4Ca0.6)xFe0.8Ni0.2O3-δ（PCFN,x=1,0.95,and 0.9）,has been designed as the fuel electrode for a pure CO2-SOEC,which presents superior electrochemical *** all these compositions,(Pr0.4Ca0.6)0.95Fe0.8Ni0.2O3-δ（PCFN95） exhibited the lowest polarization resistance of 0.458Ωcm2at open-circuit voltage and 800℃.The application of PCFN95 as the cathode in a single cell yields an impressive electrolysis current density of 1.76 A cm-2at 1.5 V and 800℃,which is76%higher than that of single cells with stoichiometric Pr0.4Ca0.6Fe0.8Ni0.2O3-δ（PCFN100） *** effects of A-site deficiency on materials'phase structure and physicochemical properties are also systematically *** an enhancement in electrochemical performance is attributed to the promotion of effective CO2adsorption,as well as the improved electrode kinetics resulting from the A-site deficiency.

AIM:To compare the costs and effectiveness of no screening and no eradication therapy, the population- based Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) serology screening with eradication therapy and 13C-Urea breath test (UBT) with eradication therapy. METHODS:A Markov model simulation was carried out in all 237 900 Chinese males with age between 35 and 44 from the perspective of the public healthcare provider in Singapore. The main outcome measures were the costs, number of gastric cancer cases prevented, life years saved, and quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) gained from screening age to death. The uncertainty surrounding the cost-effectiveness ratio was addressed by one-way sensitivity analyses. RESULTS:Compared to no screening, the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) was $16 166 per life year saved or $13 571 per QALY gained for the serology screening, and $38 792 per life year saved and $32 525 per QALY gained for the UBT. The ICER was $477 079 per life year saved or $390 337 per QALY gained for the UBT compared to the serology screening. The cost- effectiveness of serology screening over the UBT was robust to most parameters in the model. CONCLUSION:The population-based serologyscreening for H pylori was more cost-effective than the UBT in prevention of gastric cancer in Singapore Chinese males.

Prediction of salinity intrusion in the sheltered estuary of Terengganu River in Malaysia using 1-D empirical intrusion model

Generally one dimensional （l-D） empirical salinity intrusion model is limited to natural alluvial estuary. However, this study attempts to investigate its ability to model a sheltered alluvial estuary of the Terengganu River in Malaysia. The constructed breakwater at the mouth of the river shelters the estuary from direct influence of the open sea. The salinity density along the estuary was collected during the wet and dry seasons for scenarios before and after the constructed breakwater. Moreover, the freshwater discharges, tidal elevations and bathymetry data were also measured as model inputs. A good fit was demonstrated between simulated and observed variables, namely salinity distribution and intrusion length for both scenarios. Thus, the results show that 1-D empirical salinity model can be utilized for sheltered estuarine condition at the Terengganu Estuary, but with an appropriate determination of an initial point. Furthermore, it was observed that the salinity intrusion in the study area is largely dependent on the freshwater discharge rather than tidal elevation fluctuations. The scale of the salinity intrusion length in the study area is proportional to the river discharge of the -1/2 power. It was appeared that the two lines of the 1-D empirical salinity model and discharge power based equation fitted well to each other, with the average predicted minimum freshwater discharge of 150 m^3/s is going to be required to maintain acceptable salinity levels during high water slack （HWS） near the water intake station, which is located at 10.63 km from river mouth.

To the Editor : Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) Stage C hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with vascular invasion has been considered unresectable. However, the curative rate from systemic treatment is rather dismal. Even with the use of immunotherapy, complete remission is less than 10% [ 1 ]. On the contrary, recent advances in transplant oncology, especially in the application of liver transplant-related surgical techniques in complex liver resections, make the operation possible for patients with locally advanced HCC who were previously considered to be unresectable [ 2 ]. We hereby present the surgical management of a patient with giant HCC in right liver lobe with inferior vena cava(IVC) invasion.
