Desert resource environments(***,food)are tied to limited,highly localized rainfall regimes which generate microgeographic variation in the life histories of ***,enhanced growth rates,reproduction and survivorship are observed in response to increased resource availability in a variety of desert plants and short-lived *** examined the thermal ecology and reproduction of US federally threatened Mojave desert tortoises(Gopherus agassizii),long-lived and large-bodied ectotherms,at opposite ends of a 250-m elevation-related rainfall cline within Ivanpah Valley in the eastern Mojave Desert,California,*** operative environments in both the upper-elevation,“Cima,”and the lower-elevation,“Pumphouse,”plots corresponded with daily and seasonal patterns of incident solar *** received 22%more rainfall and contained greater perennial vegetative cover,which conferred 5°C-cooler daytime shaded *** a monitored average rainfall year,Cima tortoises had longer potential activity periods by up to several hours and greater ephemeral *** resource availability in Cima was associated with larger-bodied females producing larger eggs,while still producing the same number of eggs as Pumphouse ***,reproductive success was lower in Cima because 90%of eggs were depredated versus 11%in Pumphouse,indicating that predatory interactions produced counter-gradient variation in reproductive success across the rainfall ***-use impacts on deserts(*** energy generation)are increasing rapidly,and conservation strategies designed to protect and recover threatened desert inhabitants,such as desert tortoises,should incorporate these strong ecosystem-level responses to regional resource variation in assessments of habitat for prospective development and mitigation efforts.

Biclustering by sparse canonical correlation analysis

Background： Developing appropriate computational tools to distill biological insights from large-scale gene expression data has been an important part of systems biology. Considering that gene relationships may change or only exist in a subset of collected samples, biclustering that involves clustering both genes and samples has become in- creasingly important, especially when the samples are pooled from a wide range of experimental conditions. Methods： In this paper, we introduce a new biclustering algorithm to find subsets of genomic expression features （eFs）（e.g., genes, isoforms, exon inclusion） that show strong ＂group interactions＂ under certain subsets of samples. Group interactions are defined by strong partial correlations, or equivalently, conditional dependencies between eFs after removing the influences of a set of other functionally related eFs. Our new biclustering method, named SCCA-BC, extends an existing method for group interaction inference, which is based on sparse canonical correlation analysis （SCCA） coupled with repeated random partitioning of the gene expression data set. Results： SCCA-BC gives sensible results on real data sets and outperforms most existing methods in simulations. Software is available at https：//***/pimentel/scca-bc. Conclusions： SCCA-BC seems to work in numerous conditions and the results seem promising for future extensions. SCCA-BC has the ability to find different types of bicluster patterns, and it is especially advantageous in identifying a bicluster whose elements share the same progressive and multivariate normal distribution with a dense covariance matrix.

随着拉丁美洲国家经济和互联网技术的不断发展,拉丁美洲国家的跨境电子商务发展的如火如荼。跨境电子商务在促进消费升级方面具有巨大作用,消费者的购买意愿是本文的主要研究对象,拉丁美洲国家电子商务的发展可以促进当地经济的发展,因此研究影响拉丁美洲国家电子商务系统中顾客购买意愿的因素具有一定的现实意义。本文通过实证分析法分析了影响拉丁美洲国家跨境电子商务系统中顾客购买意愿的因素。本文首先通过跨境网络购物平台使用影响因素对跨境网络购物平台使用意愿的作用假设、跨境网络购物平台使用意愿对购买行为的作用假设、跨境网络购物平台使用意愿的中介作用假设、理论模型构建四个方面对研究假设和理论模型进行阐述;然后通过问卷调查基本内容、数据收集、样本描述三个方面对问卷设计与调查进行阐述;最后通过量表的信效度分析、描述性统计分析、相关分析、回归分析、网络购物使用意愿的中介效应分析五个方面对统计分析与假设检验进行阐述。本文得出的结论是:感知产品质量、感知服务质量正向作用于跨境网络购物平台使用意愿;感知风险负向作用于跨境网络购物平台使用意愿;购买价格与网络使用购买意愿的作用不显著;网络购物使用意愿具有一定的中介作用。然后通过实证分析的结果提出了一些改善拉丁美洲国家跨境电商体系,提高顾客购买意愿的政策建议。我希望本文中的政策建议可以为拉丁美洲国家跨境电子商务系统的发展提供借鉴作用。

Al-3．5Cu-7．0Si铸造铝合金在固溶处理过程中，随固溶处理时间的延长，时效后的强度显著增加,两次强度增加分别发生在0—2小时和4—8小时，与铸态强度相比，其抗拉强度分别增加50-80MPa和约20MPa.金相观察及扫描电镜分析表明，第一次强度增加主要源于依附在杂质上的CuAl2相及基体中弥散的CuAl2相的溶解，硅相粒子的平滑化也对强度提高有一定作用；第二次强度增加则是由于块状CuAl2相开始溶解的贡献．该合金中的富铁化合物特别是β—FeSiAl5相非常稳定，通常的固溶处理难以使其溶解或改变其形状和分布．

The lower Mississippi River(LMR) has been heavily modified for multiple human purposes such as navigation, flood control, and bank stabilization. However, the LMR simultaneously supports a diverse fish fauna that includes recreational and commercial fisheries. Due to river training and diversion structures constructed during the past 80 years, the historic characteristics of the LMR have been drastically altered and have likely influenced fishes and fisheries in the system. One common restoration measure used throughout the LMR has been to "notch" wing-dike structures that close secondary(side) river channels. Dike notching allows year-round flows through secondary channels, which enhances habitat diversity and promotes biological productivity at the ecosystem scale. Although notching is presumed good for LMR fishes and other biota, few studies have examined its effects on fish assemblages. In this study, fish assemblages were sampled at seven LMR secondary channels spanning from river kilometer(rkm) 628(Louisiana-Mississippi, U.S.A.) upstream to rkm 1504(Missouri-Kentucky, U.S.A.). Four secondary channels were termed "permanent"(i.e.,with notched dikes) while three secondary channels were termed "temporary"(i.e., without notched dikes).Fishes were sampled by boat-mounted electrofishing conducted during falling and low stages from1995—1997. Fish assemblages differed between permanent and temporary secondary channels, and varied somewhat between falling and low stages. Gizzard shad(Dorosoma cepedianum), threadfin shad(D. petenense), and white bass(Morone chrysops) demonstrated consistent preferences for low-current conditions associated with temporary secondary channels. Conversely, blue catfish(Ictalurus furcatus), flathead catfish(Pylodictis olivaris), and freshwater drum(Aplodinotus grunniens) were more associated with permanent secondary channels. 观察了Al 3 5Cu 7Si合金拉伸断裂试样横截面的断裂路径 ,并结合力学性能试验对该合金的断裂行为进行了研究 ,总结了该合金中各种相的数量及形态对力学性能的影响。结果表明 ,除了高铸造气孔率明显降低该合金力学性能外 ,针状的硅相及由杂质铁产生的针状铁相 (FeSiAl5)是导致Al 3 5Cu 7Si合金力学性能下降的主要因素。固溶处理温度偏高造成的局部熔化微区会严重损害其力学性能 ,而少量未溶解块状θ相 (CuAl2 )对其力学性能无显著影响。

It is demonstrated that (3Z)-nonenal (NON) and (3Z)-hexenal (HeX) are oxidized in a cascade by lipoxygenase (LOX) and hydroperoxide peroxygenase (HP peroxygenase) into (2e)-4-hydroxy-2- nonenal (HNe) and (2e)-4-hydroxy-2-hexenal (HHe), respectively. In turn, HNe inactivates LOX terminating the cascade. The hydroxy-alkenals produced serve to inhibit plant pathogens, which initiated the cascade. In addition to LOX, other unknown oxygenases may be involved in the cascade.
