At present days,object detection and tracking concepts have gained more importance among researchers and business ***,deep learning(DL)approaches have been used for object tracking as it increases the perfor-mance and speed of the tracking *** paper presents a novel robust DL based object detection and tracking algorithm using Automated Image Anno-tation with ResNet based Faster regional convolutional neural network(R-CNN)named(AIA-FRCNN)*** AIA-RFRCNN method performs image anno-tation using a Discriminative Correlation Filter(DCF)with Channel and Spatial Reliability tracker(CSR)called DCF-CSRT *** AIA-RFRCNN model makes use of Faster RCNN as an object detector and tracker,which involves region proposal network(RPN)and Fast *** RPN is a full convolution network that concurrently predicts the bounding box and score of different *** RPN is a trained model used for the generation of the high-quality region proposals,which are utilized by Fast R-CNN for detection ***,Residual Network(ResNet 101)model is used as a shared convolutional neural network(CNN)for the generation of feature *** performance of the ResNet 101 model is further improved by the use of Adam optimizer,which tunes the hyperparameters namely learning rate,batch size,momentum,and weight ***,softmax layer is applied to classify the *** performance of the AIA-RFRCNN method has been assessed using a benchmark dataset and a detailed comparative analysis of the results takes *** outcome of the experiments indicated the superior characteristics of the AIA-RFRCNN model under diverse aspects.

A frequency domain analysis is presented to determine the performance characteristics of a tunable all-optical wavelength converter using four-wave mixing (FWM) in a single mode fiber (SMF) around the zero dispersion wavelength using two pump lasers. The output converted signal power as well as efficiency evaluated at a bit rate of 10 Gb/s show that the signal power is substantially higher at lower values of wavelength separation.

Omega 3 EPA and DHA are polyunsaturated fatty acids with relevant health benefits. Conjugated linoleic and linolenic acids are known for their anti-carcinogenic effect, anti-inflammatory properties and body weight reduction. To achieve therapeutical doses, high amounts of these fatty acids' food sources must be consumed. Thus, the intake of enriched oils with a high concentration of these fatty acids is often used. but several factors influence their bioavailability. Here, by using the INFOGEST static in vitro protocol of gastrointestinal tract digestion it was studied the bioaccessibility of these fatty acids in different matrixes: Pomegranate and Fish oil and omega 3, CLA and CLNA soft-gel enriched capsules. After digestion, the Recovery Index for the major bioactive PUFAs are very low: Pomegranate oil is 2%, Fish oil 11-13%, CLNA 17%, CLA 6% and Omega 3 capsules 3%. Higher initial concentrations of these PUFAs seem to be related to higher degrees of oxidation. In Pomegranate oil, CLNA and Omega 3 capsules, the digestion process negatively influenced the antioxidant potential. The opposite was verified for the Fish oil and CLA capsules. Importantly, bioaccessibility studies of similar matrixes are very scarce and intestinal permeability is absent in most of the studies. Intestinal permeability studies were performed using a Caco-2/HT29-MTX co-culture: there is significative incorporation of the bioactive fatty acids into the intestinal cells, which may affect their permeability performance. Interestingly, most fatty acids remain in the non-bioaccessible fraction which may be relevant when designing oral routes of administration and in gut microbiota modulation.

This study investigated the speciation of halogen-specific total organic halogen and disinfection byproducts(DbPs) upon chlorination of natural organic matter(NOM) in the presence of iopamidol and bromide(br^-).Experiments were conducted with low bromide source waters with different NOM characteristics from Northeast Ohio,USA and varied spiked levels of bromide(2-30 μmol/L) and iopamidol(1-5 μmol/L).Iopamidol was found to be a direct precursor to trihalomethane(THM) and haloacetic acid formation,and in the presence of br^-favored brominated *** concentration and speciation of DbPs formed were impacted by iopamidol and bromide concentrations,as well as the presence of *** iopamidol increased the concentration of iodinated DbPs(iodo-DbPs) and THMs ***,as br^-concentrations increased,the concentrations of nonbrominated iodo-and chloro-DbPs decreased while brominated-DbPs *** of the concentration of either iopamidol or bromide,bromochloroiodomethane(CHbrClI) was the most predominant iodo-DbP formed except at the lowest bromide concentration *** relevant concentrations of iopamidol(1 μmol/L) and bromide(2 μmol/L),significant quantities of highly toxic iodinated and brominated DbPs were ***,the rapid oxidation and incorporation of bromide appear to inhibit iodoDbP formation under conditions relevant to drinking water treatment.

Practice parameters for the use of actigraphy in the military operational context: the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Operational Research Kit-Actigraphy(WORK-A)

background: The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research(WRAIR) Operational Research Kit-Actigraphy(WORK-A) is a set of unique practice parameters and actigraphy-derived measures for the analysis of operational military sleep patterns. The WORK-A draws on best practices from the literature and comprises 15 additional descriptive variables. Here, we demonstrate the WORK-A with a sample of United States Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps(ROTC) cadets(n=286) during a month-long capstone pre-commissioning training ***: The sleep of ROTC cadets(n=286) was measured by Philips Actiwatch devices during the 31-day training exercise. The preliminary effectiveness of the WORK-A was tested by comparing differences in sleep measures collected by Actiwatches as calculated by Philips Actiware software against WORK-A-determined sleep measures and self-report sleep collected from a subset of ROTC cadets(n=140).Results: Actiware sleep summary statistics were significantly different from WORK-A measures and self-report sleep(P≤0.001). bedtimes and waketimes as determined by WORK-A major sleep intervals showed the best agreement with self-report bedtime(22:21±1:30 vs. 22:13±0:40, P=0.21) and waketime(04:30±2:17 vs. 04:31±0:47, P=0.68). Though still significantly different, the discrepancy was smaller between the WORK-A measure of time in bed(TIb) for major sleep intervals(352±29) min and self-report nightly sleep duration [(337±57) min, P=0.006] than that between the WORK-A major TIb and Actiware TIb [(177±42) min, P≤0.001].Conclusions: Default actigraphy methods are not the most accurate methods for characterizing soldier sleep, but reliable methods for characterizing operational sleep patterns is a necessary first step in developing strategies to improve soldier readiness. The WORK-A addresses this knowledge gap by providing practice parameters and a robust variety of measures with which to profile sleep behavior in service members.
