Objective:Acorus calamus(AC)L.(Araceae)is an annual semi-aquatic and aromatic plant found in Europe,North America and *** rhizomes are often used by Native Americans,Americans,and Chinese as well as by other *** studies and documents have shown their use in various disease treatments,such as insomnia,mental disorders,diabetes mellitus,epilepsy,inflammation,asthma,neuropathic pain,and *** this study,the antidepressant activity of methanolic and hydroalcoholic extracts of the AC rhizome part in mice was ***:Three doses of methanolic extract of AC rhizome(MEACR)(25,50 and 100 mg/kg ***),three doses of hydroalcoholic extract of AC rhizome(HAACR)(100,200 and 400 mg/kg ***),and standards(imipramine,15 mg/kg *** and fluoxetine,20 mg/kg ***)was daily oral administration to the mice for consecutive 14 *** extract effect on the immobility time was monitored by a tail suspension test(TsT)and a forced swimming test(FsT).Monoamine oxidase(MAO)levels were also analyzed using standard ***:The optimum antidepressant activity was viewed at 100 mg/kg *** of MEACR extract and400 mg/kg *** of HAACR extract with 23.82%and 20.59%immobility period reduction,***,the extracts weakened the FsT-induced elevation of MAO activity significantly and returned to near-normal levels of neurotransmitters in the brain.100 mg/kg *** or above of MEACR extract significantly prevented the MAO-A and MAO-B activities in mice brain at a dose-dependent ***,just 400 mg/kg *** of HAACR extract prevented the activity of MAO-A and *** and imipramine showed a tendency to prevent the activity of MAO-A and ***:This study suggests that AC rhizome extract mediated antidepressant activity by modulating the central neurochemical and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis in response to FsT and TsTinduced ***,AC rhizome extract can be used as a valuable plant supplement to treat depr

A country’s ability to create complex goods and diversify its lines of products is essential for addressing all types of *** a country’s vulnerability to extreme climatic events,such as droughts,superstorms,and other natural disasters,and its capacity for successful adaption,is an essential global need that has been *** study examines the role of economic fitness(EF)in addressing climate change risk ex‐posure in BRICs countries in the context of the environmental Kuznets curve using panel data from 1995 to *** threshold methodology is employed to ascertain the nonlinear relationship between EF and climate change risk exposure(i.e.,Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative Country Index(ND-GAIN)).In addition,empirical associations were estimated using panel-corrected standard errors,Driscoll-Kraay standard errors,and feasible generalized least squares estimation *** findings demonstrated an inverted N shaped link between EF and ***,even after controlling for significant ND-GAIN influencing variables such as gross domestic product per capita,financial development,and urbanization,our robustness checks revealed significant and consistent findings.

structural,electronic,and magnetic properties of Co-doped ZnO

Density functional theory based calculations have been carried out to study structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of Znl-xCoxO （x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75） in the zinc-blende phase, and the generalized gradient approximation proposed by Wu and Cohen has been used. Our calculated lattice constants decrease while the bulk moduli increase with the increase of Co2＋ concentration. The calculated spin polarized band structures show the metallic behavior of Co-doped ZnO for both the up and the down spin cases with various doping concentrations. Moreover, the electron population is found to shift from the Zn-O bond to the Co-O bond with the increase of Co2~ concentration. The total magnetic moment~ the interstitial magnetic moment, the valence and the conduction band edge spin splitting energies, and the exchange constants decrease, while the local magnetic moments of Zn, Co, O, the exchange spin splitting energies, and crystal field splitting energies increase with the increase of dopant concentration.

Planetscope Nanosatellites Image Classification Using Machine Learning

To adopt sustainable crop practices in changing climate, understandingthe climatic parameters and water requirements with vegetation is crucial on aspatiotemporal scale. The Planetscope (Ps) constellation of more than 130 nanosatellites from Planet Labs revolutionize the high-resolution vegetation assessment. Ps-derived Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) maps areone of the highest resolution data that can transform agricultural practices andmanagement on a large scale. High-resolution Ps nanosatellite data was utilizedin the current study to monitor agriculture’s spatiotemporal assessment for theAl-Qassim region, Kingdom of saudi Arabia (KsA). The time series of NDVIwas utilized to assess the vegetation pattern change in the study area. The currentstudy area has sparse vegetation, and exposed soil exhibits brightness due to lowsoil moisture, constraining NDVI. Therefore, a machine learning (ML) basedRandom Forest (RF) classification model was used to compare the vegetationextent and computational cost of NDVI. The RF model has been compared withNDVI in the current investigation. It is one of the most precise classificationmethods because it can model the complexity of input variables, handle outliers,treat noise effectively, and avoid overfitting. Multinomial Logistic Regression(MLR) was implemented to compare the performance of both NDVI and RFbased classification. RF model provided good accuracy (98%) for all vegetationclasses based on user accuracy, producer accuracy, and kappa coefficient.

CDLsTM: A Novel Model for Climate Change Forecasting

Water received in rainfall is a crucial natural resource for agriculture,the hydrological cycle,and municipal *** changing rainfall pattern is an essential aspect of assessing the impact of climate change on water resources planning and *** change affected the entire world,specifically India’s fragile Himalayan mountain region,which has high significance due to being a climatic *** water coming from Himalayan rivers is essential for 1.4 billion people living *** studies either modeled temperature or rainfall for the Himalayan area;however,the combined influence of both in a long-term analysis was not performed utilizing Deep Learning(DL).The present investigation attempted to analyze the time series and correlation of temperature(1796–2013)and rainfall changes(1901–2015)over the Himalayan states in *** Climate Deep Long short-Term Memory(CDLsTM)model was developed and optimized to forecast all Himalayan states’temperature and rainfall ***’s Prophet(FB-Prophet)model was implemented to forecast and assess the performance of the developed CDLsTM *** performance of both models was assessed based on various performance metrics and shown significantly higher accuracies and low error rates.

Analysis of lattices with non-linear interphases

Anti-plane deformation of square lattices containing interphases is analyzed. It is assumed that lattices are linear elastic but not necessarily isotropic, whereas interphases exhibit non-linear elastic behavior. It is demonstrated that such problems can be treated effectively using Green＇s functions, which allow to eliminate the degrees of freedom outside of the interphase. Illustrative numerical examples focus on the determination of applied stresses leading to lattice instability.

The aim of the present paper is to study the numerical solutions of the steady MHD two dimensional stagnation point flow of an incompressible nano fluid towards a stretching *** effects of radiation and convective boundary condition are also taken into *** model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and *** resulting nonlinear momentum,energy and nano particle equations are simplifed using similarity *** solutions have been obtained for the velocity,temperature and nanoparticle fraction *** influence of physical parameters on the velocity,temperature,nanoparticle fraction,rates of heat transfer and nanoparticle fraction are shown graphically.

Dual solutions in MHD stagnation-point flow of Prandtl fluid impinging on shrinking sheet

The present article investigates the dual nature of the solution of the magneto- hydrodynamic （MHD） stagnation-point flow of a Prandtl fluid model towards a shrinking surface. The self-similar nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by the shooting： method. It is found that the dual solutions of the flow exist for cer- tain values of tile velocity ratio parameter. The special case of the first branch solutions （the classical Newtonian fluid model） is compared with the present numerical results of stretching flow. The results are found to be in good agreement. It is also shown that the boundary layer thickness for the second solution is thicker than that for the first solution.

Experimental study on the flow pattern and pressure gradient of air-water two-phase flow in a horizontal circular mini-channel

Experimental studies on the flow pattern and the pressure gradient of gas-liquid co-current two-phase flow in a mini-channel were *** test section was a transparent circular channel of 1.6 mm inner *** working fluids were air and *** superficial velocities of gas and liquid were in the range of 0.025-66.300 m/s and 0.033-4.935 m/s,*** the present work,the flow pattern and the pressure gradient data were obtained by analyzing the flow images captured by a high-speed camera,and by using the pressure transducer,*** a result,it was found that (1) the obtained flow patterns were bubbly,plug,slug-annular,annular,and chum flows,(2) new experimental correlations on the bubble and plug lengths were proposed,whereas the lengths are the function of the homogeneous void fraction,(3) both gas and liquid superficial velocities affect proportionally to the pressure gradient,whereas it increases with the increase both of JG,*** addition,the obtained flow patterns are in a good agreement with that of the available flow pattern maps in the open literatures,such as,Triplett et al.(1999) and Chung and Kawaji (2004).
