Metal–phenolic coordination crystals derived magnetic hollow carbon spheres for ultrahigh electromagnetic wave absorption

Owing to the tunable compositions and versatile functionality,the development of eco-friendly metal–phenolic coordination crystals derivatives is highly anticipated for electromagnetic wave absorption.In this study,three kinds of magnetic hollow carbon spheres(HCSs)with macro-meso-microporous characteristics,including Fe/HCS,Co/HCS,and CoNi/HCS,are successfully fabricated via the co-operative hard template and self-assembling process,in which magnetic particles are encapsulated in carbon shell matrix after the pyrolysis of metal–polyphenol coordination crystals and further subsequent template removal.On the one hand,hierarchical macro-meso-micropores effectively balance the impedance gap between absorbers and air and introduce structural defects or distortion,leading to matched impedance and enhanced dipolar/defect polarization.On the other hand,wrapped magnetic particles provide uncountable hetero-interfaces and induce ferromagnetic resonance,resulting in strengthened interfacial polarization and additional magnetic loss.In particular,enhanced minimum reflection loss(RL,min)and broadband effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)are achieved with only 10 wt.%filler loading.Specifically,the RL,min and EAB values are-57.5 dB and 7.2 GHz for Fe/HCS,-50.0 dB and 5.8 GHz for Co/HCS,and-52.1 dB and 6.7 GHz for CoNi/HCS,respectively.Moreover,this work provides us a modular-assembly strategy to regulate the hollow cavity of absorbers and simultaneously manipulates the chemical components of absorbers to regulate electromagnetic wave absorption performance.

Precisely reducing the size of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derivatives is an effective strategy to manipulate their phase engineering owing to size-dependent oxidation;however,the underlying relationship between the size of derivatives and phase engineering has not been clarified so far.Herein,a spatial confined growth strategy is proposed to encapsulate small-size MOFs derivatives into hollow carbon nanocages.It realizes that the hollow cavity shows a significant spatial confinement effect on the size of confined MOFs crystals and subsequently affects the dielectric polarization due to the phase hybridization with tunable coherent interfaces and heterojunctions owing to size-dependent oxidation motion,yielding to satisfied microwave attenuation with an optimal reflection loss of-50.6 d B and effective bandwidth of 6.6 GHz.Meanwhile,the effect of phase hybridization on dielectric polarization is deeply visualized,and the simulated calculation and electron holograms demonstrate that dielectric polarization is shown to be dominant dissipation mechanism in determining microwave absorption.This spatial confined growth strategy provides a versatile methodology for manipulating the size of MOFs derivatives and the understanding of size-dependent oxidation-induced phase hybridization offers a precise inspiration in optimizing dielectric polarization and microwave attenuation in theory.

Heteroatoms-doped carbon nanocages with enhanced dipolar and defective polarization toward light-weight microwave absorbers

Light-weight and exceptional microwave absorption are two vital characteristics for microwave absorbers in practical applications,but still face challenges.Herein,we employ a sacrificial template strategy to fabricate heteroatoms-doped carbon nanocages(CNs)via chemical vapor deposition,in which heteroatoms are simultaneously doped into the carbon frameworks by bubbling flowing source liquid.Compared with CNs,doped heteroatoms,accompanied with the inevitably defective arrangements in the lattice,not only decrease the electrical conductivity and balance the impedance characteristics,but also introduce structuralchemical defects and trigger dominant dipolar/defect polarization.As a result,both the minimum reflection loss(R_(L,min))and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)greatly increase at an ultralow filler loading of 5 wt.%owing to internal hollow void and high specific surface area.The R_(L,min) values reach−53.6,−43.2,and−50.1 dB for N-CNs,S-CNs,and N,S-CNs with the corresponding EAB of 4.9,2.5,and 3.1 GHz,respectively.Furthermore,this work provides an effective strategy for the construction of heteroatoms-doped hollow carbon frameworks in large-scale production and the obtained doped carbon nanocages can be used as light-weight and high-performance microwave absorbers.

MAT1 correlates with molecular subtypes and predicts poor survival in breast cancer

Objective：Menage a trois 1（MAT1）is a targeting subunit of cyclin-dependent kinase-activating kinase and general transcription factor IIH kinase,which modulates cell cycle,transcription and DNA repair.Its dysregulation is responsible for diseases including cancers.To further explore the role of MAT1 in breast cancer,we investigated the pathways in which MAT1 might be involved,the association between MAT1 and molecular subtypes,and the role of MAT1 in clinical outcomes of breast cancer patients.Methods：We conducted immunohistochemistry staining on tissue microarray and immunofluorescence staining on sections of MAT1 stable breast cancer cells.Also,we performed Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis,correlation analysis and prognosis analysis on public databases.Results：MAT1 was involved in multiple pathways including normal physiology signaling and disease-related signaling.Furthermore,MAT1 positively correlated with the protein status of estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor,and was enriched in luminal-type and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-enriched breast cancer in comparison with basal-like subtype at both m RNA and protein levels.Correlation analysis revealed significant association between MAT1 m RNA amount and epithelial markers,mesenchymal markers,cancer stem cell markers,apoptosis markers,transcription markers and oncogenes.Consistently,the results of immunofluorescence stain indicated that MAT1 overexpression enhanced the protein abundance of epidermal growth factor receptor,vimentin,sex determining region Y-box 2 and sine oculis homeobox homolog 1.Importantly,Kaplan-Meier Plotter analysis reflected that MAT1 could serve as a prognostic biomarker predicting worse relapse-free survival and metastasis-free survival.Conclusions：MAT1 is correlated with molecular subtypes and is associated with unfavorable prognosis for breast cancer patients.

Change of bio-electric interferential currents of acute fatigue and recovery in male sprinters

We studied the muscle fatigue and recovery of thirty male sprinters(aged 18–22 years)using the Frequency Analysis Method(FAM).The interferential currents(ICs)with different thresholds for sensory,motor and pain responses,the maximal voluntary contraction(MVC),and the amplitude of the surface EMG(aEMG,sEMG)were assessed prior to and immediately after an acute explosive fatigue training session,and during one-week recovery.We found that IC increased on average from 32.38.9 mA to 37.57.5 mA in sensory response at 10 Hz immediately post training(p=0.004)but decreased at 24-hr post training(p=0.008)and returned to pre-levels thereafter.Motor and pain response patterns at 10 Hz were similar(motor:p=0.033 and 0.040;pain:p=0.022 and 0.019,respectively).The change patterns of ICs were similar to but prior to the changes of sEMG.The agreement between IC assessment and amplitude of sEMG(aEMG)/MVC ratio was good(>95%).The present study suggested that the changes in ICs were prior to the changes in both the aEMG and force during fatigue.These changes may reflect the physiological sensory change due to peripheral fatigue.FAM may be useful as an effective early detection and simple tool for monitoring muscle fatigue during training and recovery in athletes.

Integrated multi-scale approach combining global homogenization and local refinement for multi-field analysis of high-temperature superconducting composite magnets

Second-generation high-temperature superconducting(HTS)conductors,specifically rare earth-barium-copper-oxide(REBCO)coated conductor(CC)tapes,are promising candidates for high-energy and high-field superconducting applications.With respect to epoxy-impregnated REBCO composite magnets that comprise multilayer components,the thermomechanical characteristics of each component differ considerably under extremely low temperatures and strong electromagnetic fields.Traditional numerical models include homogenized orthotropic models,which simplify overall field calculation but miss detailed multi-physics aspects,and full refinement(FR)ones that are thorough but computationally demanding.Herein,we propose an extended multi-scale approach for analyzing the multi-field characteristics of an epoxy-impregnated composite magnet assembled by HTS pancake coils.This approach combines a global homogenization(GH)scheme based on the homogenized electromagnetic T-A model,a method for solving Maxwell's equations for superconducting materials based on the current vector potential T and the magnetic field vector potential A,and a homogenized orthotropic thermoelastic model to assess the electromagnetic and thermoelastic properties at the macroscopic scale.We then identify“dangerous regions”at the macroscopic scale and obtain finer details using a local refinement(LR)scheme to capture the responses of each component material in the HTS composite tapes at the mesoscopic scale.The results of the present GH-LR multi-scale approach agree well with those of the FR scheme and the experimental data in the literature,indicating that the present approach is accurate and efficient.The proposed GH-LR multi-scale approach can serve as a valuable tool for evaluating the risk of failure in large-scale HTS composite magnets.

Cluster analysis reveals a homogeneous subgroup of PCOS women with metabolic disturbance associated with adverse reproductive outcomes

Background:Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)is a heterogeneous and complex reproductive endocrinological disease that could lead to infertility.There were many attempts to classify PCOS but it remains unclear whether there is a specific subgroup of PCOS that is associated with the best or worst reproductive outcomes of assisted reproductive techniques(ART).Methods:Infertile PCOS patients who underwent their first cycle of in vitro fertilization(IVF)in West China Second University Hospital,Sichuan University from January 2019 to December 2021 were included.Basic clinical and laboratory information of each individual were extracted.Unsupervised cluster analysis was performed.Controlled ovarian stimulation parameters and reproductive outcomes were collected and compared between the different clusters of PCOS.Results:Our analysis clustered women with PCOS into"reproductive","metabolic",and"balanced"clusters based on nine traits.Reproductive group was characterized by high levels of testosterone(T),sex hormone-binding globulin(SHBG),follicular stimulation hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),and anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH).Metabolic group was characterized by high levels of body mass index(BMI),fasting insulin,and fasting glucose.Balanced group was characterized by low levels of the aforementioned reproductive and metabolic parameters,except for SHBG.Compared with PCOS patients in reproductive and balanced clusters,those in metabolic cluster had lower rates of good quality day 3 embryo and blastocyst formation.Moreover,PCOS patients in the reproductive cluster had greater fresh embryo transfer(ET)cancelation rate and clinical pregnancy rate after fresh ET than metabolic cluster(odds ratio[OR]=3.37,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.77-6.44,and OR=6.19,95%CI:1.58-24.24,respectively).And compared with PCOS of metabolic cluster,PCOS of balanced cluster also had higher chance for fresh ET cancelation(OR=2.83,95%CI:1.26-6.35).Conclusion:Our study suggested that PCOS patients in metabolic cluster may be associated with adverse re

ST-LSTM-SA:A New Ocean Sound Velocity Field Prediction Model Based on Deep Learning

The scarcity of in-situ ocean observations poses a challenge for real-time information acquisition in the ocean,Among the crucial hydroacoustic environmental parameters,ocean sound velocity exhibits significant spatial and temporal variability and it is highly relevant io oceanic research.In this study,we propose a new data-driven approach,leveraging deep learning techniques,for the prediction of sound velocity fields(SVFs).Our novel spatiotemporal prediction model,ST-LSTM-SA,combincs Spatiotemporal Long Short-Tcrm Mcmory(ST-LSTM)with a sclf-attention mcchanism to cnablc accurate and real-time prediction of svFs.To circumvent the limited amount of observational data,we employ transfer learning by first training the model using reanalysis datasets,followed by fine-luning it using in-silu analysis dala lo obtain the final prediction model.By utilizing the historical 12-month SVFs as input,our model predicts the SVFs for the subsequent three months.We compare the performance of five models:Artificial Neural Networks(ANN),Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM).Convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM),ST-LSTM,and our proposed ST-LSTM-SA model in a iest experiment spanning 2019 to 2022.Our results demonstrate that the ST-LSTM-SA model significantly improves the prcdiction accuracy and stability of sound velocity in both tcmporal and spatial dimcnsions.Thc ST-LSTM-SA model not only accurately predicts the ocean sound velocity field(SVF),but also provides valuable insights for spatiotemporal prediclion of other oceanic environmental variables.

A columnar multi-layer sliding triboelectric nanogenerator for water wave energy harvesting independent of wave height and direction

The ocean,with its highly variable and complex meteorological conditions,harbors enormous renewable resources.Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs),which possess unique advantages,show exciting prospects in water wave energy collection.How to design and optimize TENGs to cover all characteristic water wave energies and achieve efficient energy utilization is emergent.In this paper,we carefully designed and fabricated a columnar multi-layer sliding TENG(CMLS-TENG)that can harvest water wave energy independent of wave height and direction.Drive rods with a hollow acrylic spherical shell were introduced to deliver wave energy,ensuring that the CMLS-TENG can work in all directions from 0°to 360°.Based on the sliding structure,switching the optimized CMLS-TENG is independent of wave heights.The optimized CMLS-TENG can achieve a total power density of 730 mW/m^(3) at a wave height of only 4.8 cm regardless of wave direction,which can illuminate multiple light-emitting diodes(LEDs)to provide lighting and provide power to a watch and a hygrometer for temperature and humidity monitoring.This work provides new choices and hopes for the effective collection of full-range water wave energy.

Physical activity and exercise in liver cancer

Sarcopenia and physical deconditioning are common complications in patients with liver cancer,which are frequently caused by insufficient physical activity and poor nutritional status,resulting in physical frailty and a significant impact on the patient's physical fitness.Notably,sarcopenia,frailty,and poor cardiopulmonary endurance have all been linked to higher mortality rates among patients with liver cancer.Exercise intervention significantly improves various health parameters in liver cancer patients,including metabolic syndrome,muscle wasting,cardiorespiratory endurance,health-related quality of life,and reduction in hepatic venous pressure gradient.However,the link between physical exercise and liver cancer is commonly overlooked.In this article,we will examine the impact of exercise on liver cancer and present the most recent evidence on the best types of exercise for various stages of liver cancer.This article also summarizes and discusses the molecular mechanisms that control metabolism and systemic immune function in tumors.In brief,physical exercise should be considered an important intervention in the prevention and treatment of liver cancer and its complications.
