Influences of Ridge Width and Foliar Spraying of Amino Acids Compounds on Yield and Quality of Two Faba Bean Cultivars

A two-year study was carried out at the Agricultural Experiments and Research Station, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, during 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons to evaluate seed yield and quality of two faba bean cultivars to different rates of amino acids compounds under narrow and wide ridges. Two faba bean cultivars Sakha 1 and Masr 3 were grown in two ridge widths 60 and 120 cm and received five rates of amino acids compounds (Power mix at rates 1.5 cm⋅L−1 “Pm1” and 3.0 cm⋅L−1 “Pm2”, Super mix at rates of 3.5 cm⋅L−1 “Sm1” and 7.0 cm⋅L−1 “Sm2”, as well as, water only “control treatment”). The treatments laid out in a split split plot distribution in randomized complete blocks design in three replications were used. Ridge width was randomly assigned to the main plots, faba bean cultivars were allocated in sub-plots and amino acids compounds were allocated in sub sub-plots. Shoot chemical composition and photosynthesis pigments, as well as, chemical composition in seed traits of faba bean were tested in the laboratories of Plant Physiology Section, Agricultural Botany Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt. Wide ridge had higher nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), total sugars and total free amino acids concentrations in faba bean shoot and seeds in addition to chlorophyll a (Chl a) and chlorophyll b (Chl b) in faba bean shoot, as well as, most seed yield attributes than those of the narrow one. Faba bean cultivar Sakha 1 had higher values of seed yield, yield attributes and quality than Masr 3 that achieved higher seed antioxidants. Also, amino acids compounds affected significantly all studied traits of faba bean plants. Pm2 recorded the highest values of chemical composition in faba bean shoot and seeds. Moreover, Pm2 gave the highest seed yield and yield attributes compared to others. The interaction between ridge width and faba bean cultivar was significant

The aim of our study is to measure the concentration of Lead, Zinc, Magnesium and manganese, toxic/transition metals in human lens. The analyzed samples were categorized according to their personal habits (smoking, food, drinking and medical history). Demographic and laboratory characteristics of patients, the patients were twenty six males and twenty females. The comparison of trace elements between patients and control revealed significant increase of lead and manganese levels in patients and significant decrease of magnesium while there was few significant difference in zinc concentration among them.

汉语作为世界上使用人口最多的一种语言,这些年来,伴随着中国改革开放的不断深化,中国与世界各国之间的国际交流也变得越来越频繁,再加上中国拥有五千年悠久的历史文化,吸引了越来越多的人学习汉语。汉语中的谚语作为汉语文化中一个极具代表性的文化瑰宝,也是汉语教学中非常重要的一个部分;由于阿拉伯国家和中国在文化上有着很大差异,导致阿拉伯汉语学习者在学习汉语遇到很多的问题,学习汉语谚语时更是如此。因此,本论文的目的是通过问卷调查来了解阿拉伯汉语学习者在理解汉语谚语时出现障碍的原因。笔者以此为出发点,对阿拉伯汉语学习者进行了问卷调查和访谈,并据此深入分析归纳出学习者共同存在的问题,提出一些学习建议,依照自己的学习经验和积累的教学观摩知识,尝试设计一个针对阿拉伯学生汉语谚语学习的教学方案。本文内容分为五个部分:第一,主要阐述了本论文的选题背景、选题目的、相关的文献综述以及研究方法;第二,阿拉伯谚语和汉语谚语的来源及定义;第三,分析造成汉语谚语与阿拉伯谚语文化理解差异的主要因素,主要从宗教、自然环境、风俗习惯等三个方面来说明;第四,问卷设计思路和目的、问卷具体内容、以及调查分析和问卷调查的总结。最后的部分,在问卷调查的基础之上,提出的一些对阿拉伯学生学习汉语谚语的建议和方法以及汉语谚语的教学教案示例。

Besides（-）-epicatechin,epicatechin-（4β-8 ）-epicatechin（procyanidin B2）,epicatechin-（4β-6 ）-epicatechin （procyanidin B5）,epicatechin-（4β-8,2β-O-7）-epicatechin（proanthocyanidin A2） and epicatechin- （4β-8）-epicatechin-（4β-8）-epicatechin（procyanidin C1）,which were isolated before from Adansonia digitata, in this work an A-type proanthocyanidin trimer,***-（4β-8）-epicatechin-（4β-8,2β-0-7）- epicatechin,tetrameric procyanidin D1,***-（4β-8）-epicatechin-（4β-8）-epicatechin-（4β-8）- epicatechin and a polymeric compound were isolated from the pericarp（fruit wall） of the fruits for the first time from this *** antioxidant activity of different fractions and pure compounds was experimentally evaluated in the DPPH- *** ethyl acetate fraction,and most of the isolated compounds displayed a high activity(IC50 2.40-9.60μg/ml) compared with the reference antioxidant Trolox(IC50 12.18μg/ml) as a standard.

Objective: - To evaluate the applicability, feasibility, complications, short and long term results of vaginoplasty by using sigmoid colon graft with stapler assistance for resuming colonic continuity in children with absent vagina. Patients and Methods: - Records of 15 patients 8 of them had Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, 4 had congenital vaginal atresia, and 3 had Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, underwent sigmoid graft vaginal reconstruction with the aid of circular stapler during the period from 2005 to 2010 were reviewed retrospectively. Results: A neovagina was constructed in those patients who aged from 3 to 9 years (mean 4 years), where sigmoid colon was used in all patients. Hospital stay ranged from 5 to 12 days (mean 7), operative time ranged from 60 to 120 min (mean 75 min). All patients were followed up 6 monthly in the first year and then yearly, complications occurred in 4 patients: introital stenosis in 2, and another 2 cases had minor wound infection. The need for neovaginal dilation was indicated in 5 out of 15 patients. There was no complications related to bowel anastomosis, No mortality in this group and the cosmetic results were excellent in all cases. Conclusion: Sigmoid colovaginoplasty appears to be applicable for remedy of vaginal atresia at any age. It is associated with a less complication rate, the long term results is satisfactory and it seems a better technique, especially in girls who doesn’t expect sexual activity shortly after surgery.

The Prevalence and Severity of Gallstones in Sickle Cell Disease in Kuwait

Introduction: Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a genetic disease affecting hemoglobin development. Complications may occur in all organs due to sickle cell hemoglobin. Gallstones may develop as the complication of the biliary system in SCD. Aim: To calculate the prevalence and severity of the biliary system complications in SCD. Method: A total of 220 patients with homozygous SCD were recruited. The prevalence of gallstones was estimated, and the severity of the biliary system complications was classified according to the condition of the gallstones;it was classified as grade 0 when no gallstones were detected, grade 1 when gallstones were present only in the gallbladder, grade 2 when gallstones were present in both the gallbladder and the common bile duct, and grade 3 when the patient had cholecystectomy due to gallstones. Results: The overall prevalence of gallstones and cholecystectomy was 51%;it was 22% in females and 29% in males. The prevalence of the severity of grade 0 was 49%, grade 1 was 14%, and grade 3 was 37%. Grade 2 prevalence was not calculated because this study was based on abdominal ultrasound only. Conclusion: The prevalence of gallstones in SCD is much higher than in the normal population, and more in males than in females. It begins at an early age during childhood due to several underlying etiological factors related to SCD. This study provided a simple grading of severity for the biliary system based on the gallbladder stone complication. The severity calculation in the biliary system is a part of the assessment of the severity in other systems in this multisystem chronic disorder.

AIM:Smoking may affect adversely the response rate to interferon-α.Our objective was to verify this issue among chronic hepatitis C patients. METHODS:Over the year 1998,138 chronic hepatitis C male Egyptian patients presenting to Cairo Liver Center, were divided on the basis of smoking habit into:group I which comprised 38 smoker patients(>30 cigarettes/d) and group Ⅱ which included 84 non-smoker patients. Irregular and mild smokers(16 patients)were excluded. Non eligible patients for interferon-α therapy were excluded from the study and comprised 3/38(normal ALT)in group I and 22/84 in group Ⅱ(normal ALT,advanced cirrhosis and thrombocytopenia).Group I was randomly allocated into 2 sub-groups:group Ia comprised 18 patients who were subjected to therapeutic phlebotomy while sub-group Ib consisted of 17 patients who had no *** sub-group la,3 patients with normal ALT after repeated phlebotomies were excluded from the ***-α 2b 3 MU/TIW was given for 6 mo to 15 patients in group Ia,17 patients in group Ib and 62 patients in group Ⅱ. Biochemical,virological end-of-treatment and sustained responses were evaluated. RESULTS:At the end of interferon-α treatment,ALT was normalized in 3/15 patients(20%)in group Ia and 2/17 patients(11.8%)in group Ib compared to17/62 patients (27.4%)in group Ⅱ(P=0.1).Whereas 2/15 patients(13.3%) in group *** 2/17 patients(11.8%)in group Ib lost viraemia compared to 13/62 patients(26%)in group Ⅱ (P=0.3).Six months later,ALT was persistently normal in 2/15 patients(13.3%)in group 1a and 1/17 patients (5.9%)in group Ib compared to 9/62 patients(14.5%)in group Ⅱ(P=0.47).Viraemia was eliminated in 1/15 patients (6.7%)in group Ia and 1/17 patients(5.9%)in group Ib compared to 7/62 patients(11.3%) in group Ⅱ,but the results did not mount to statistical significance(P=0.4).
