Air pressure law of a reservoir constructed in karst sinkholes

Karst sinkholes with natural negative landform provide favorable conditions for the pumped storage reservoir construction for less excavation ***,the construction of the reservoir would plug the natural karst channels for water and air,which would cause remarkable air pressure in karst channels when the groundwater level fluctuates.A large laboratory simulation test was carried out to study the air pressure variation of a reservoir built on the karst *** air pressure in the karst channel and inside the model was monitored during the groundwater rising and falling *** showed that the variation of air pressure in the karst channel and the surrounding rock exhibited a high degree of *** air pressure increased rapidly at the initial stage of water level rising,followed by a slight decrease,then the air pressure increased sharply when the water level approached the top of the karst *** initial peak of air pressure and the final peak of air pressure were defined,and both air pressure peaks were linearly increasing with the water level rising *** negative air pressure was also analyzed during the drainage process,which was linearly correlated with the water level falling *** causes of air pressure variation in karst channels of a pumped storage reservoir built on the karst sinkhole were *** initial rapid increase,then slight decrease and final sudden increase of air pressure were controlled by the combined effects of air compression in karst channel and air seepage into the surrounding *** the drainage process,the instant negative air pressure and gradual recovering of air pressure were controlled by the combined effects of negative air pressure induced by water level falling and air supply from surrounding *** work could provide valuable reference for the reservoir construction in karst area.

In this study,the interactions between a Ga-based liquid metal,GaInSn,and several metal materials,including pure metals(Ni and Ti)and alloys(316H stainless steel(SS)and GH3535),at 650℃were *** aim was to evaluate the corrosion performance and select a suitable candidate material for use as a molten salt manometer diaphragm in thermal energy storage *** results indicated that the alloys(316H SS and GH3535)exhibited less corrosion than pure metals(Ni and Ti)in liquid ***-rich binary intermetallic compounds were found to form on the surfaces of all the tested metal materials exposed to liquid GaInSn,as a result of the decomposition of liquid GaInSn and its reaction with the constituent elements of the metal *** corrosion mechanism for all the tested materials exposed to liquid GaInSn was also investigated and proposed,which may aid in selecting the optimal candidate material when liquid GaInSn is used as the pressure-sensing medium.

Bilayer Compounded Polytetrafluoroethylene Membrane for Enhanced Oil-Water Emulsion Separation

In order to achieve efficient and durable oil-water emulsion separation,the membranes possessing high separation efficiency and mechanical strength attract extensive attention and are in great *** present study,a kind of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)-based bilayer membrane was fabricated by electrospinning fibrous PTFE(fPTFE)on an expanded PTFE(ePTFE)*** morphological observation revealed that the fibrous structure of the fPTFE layer could be tailored by controlling the formulation of spinning *** addition of appropriate polyoxyethylene(PEO)would make the fibers in the fPTFE layer finer and more *** a result,the compounded membrane exhibited a small pore size of approximately 1.25µm and a substantial porosity nearing 80%.This led to super-hydrophobicity,characterized by a high water contact angle(WCA)of 149.8°,and facilitated rapid oil *** water-in-oil emulsion separation experiment further confirmed that the compounded membrane not only had a high separation efficiency closing 100%,but such an outstanding separation capacity could be largely retained,either through multiple cycles of use or through strong acid(pH=1),strong alkali(pH=12),or high-temperature(100°C)***,the mechanical behavior of the bilayer membrane was basically contributed by that of each layer in terms of their volume *** significantly,the poor creep resistance of fPTFE layer was suppressed by compounding with ePTFE ***,this study has laid the groundwork for a novel approach to create PTFE-based compounded membranes with exceptional overall characteristics,showing promise for applications in the realm of emulsion separation.

In the present study,we investigated the decays of the top quark:t→cy,t→cg,t→cZ,and t→*** are extremely rare processes in the standard model(SM).As the U(1)extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM),the U(1)_X SSM features new superfields such as the right-handed neutrinos and three Higgs *** analyzed the effects of different sensitive parameters on the results and made reasonable theoretical predictions,thereby providing a useful reference for future experimental *** the constraint set by the updated experimental data,the numerical results show that the branching ratios of the four proccsscs,i.e.,t→cγ,cg,cZ,ch,can reach the same order of magnitude as their experimental upper *** them,tanβhas the most evident effect on these processes and is the main parameter;g_(X),g_(YX),μ,M_(2),λ_(H),M_(U23)^(2),and M_(Q23)^(2) are also important parameters for the processes,and have effects on the numerical results.

Dear Editor,Pre-harvest sprouting(PHS)is a major challenge to cereal crop production in areas with frequent rainfall at harvest time and has significant effects on grain yield and end-use quality(Lang et al.,2021).PHS is quantified by the dormancy/germination ratio of seeds and is largely regulated by two opposing phytohormones,abscisic acid(ABA)and gibberellin(GA)(tai et al.,2021).ABA induces dormancy and suppresses PHS,whereas GA exerts the opposite effects(Finkelstein et al.,2008).Because of the complexity of the genome,only a few genes involved in regulation of PHS have been identified in wheat,and the underlying molecular regulatory mechanisms of PHS remain largely unknown in this species.

Donor-acceptor modulation of coordination polymers for effective photothermal conversion

The targeted construction of donor-acceptor（D-A） materials featuring efficient photothermal（PT） conversion properties has been an attractive but challenging goal. Herein, a new series of coordination polymers（CPs） featuring different PT performances were constructed with flexible linker 1,1′-Ferrocenedicarboxylic acid（FCA） and 2,4,6-tri（pyridin-4-yl）-1,3,5-triazine（TPT） as acceptor and donor molecules including coronene and tetrathiafulvalene（TTF）. Based on the flexible configurations of FCA ligand and the directing of donor dependent D-A interactions, the structures of TF-1 to TF-3 featuring distinctive dimension were obtained based on Cd（II） ions for investigating the PT property in configurational perspectives. A systematic investigation of the PT properties of the CPs was performed. Notably, TF-3 exhibits the finest PT conversion effect under the irradiation of 560 nm laser, while TF-2 shows optimal PT conversion under 808 nm laser irradiation required for biological PT therapy,illustrating the correlation between the structural and component features of the CPs and their PT performances. Furthermore,Zn（II） as bio-friendly ion was utilized to construct hypotoxic TF-4 that reveals similar structure to that of TF-2 for potential application. Polydimethylsiloxane（PDMS） patches doped with TF-4 exhibits considerable NIR PT conversion effect under808 nm, represented by the nearly 80 °C temperature increased in 120 s for TF-4@PDMS patch（1.2 wt%） under 0.9 W cm-2irradiation, the results of which herein indicate the potential of D-A CPs as versatile platform for the modulation of PT materials.

Background: In vitro fertilization (IVF) has emerged as a transformative solution for infertility. However, achieving favorable live-birth outcomes remains challenging. Current clinical IVF practices in IVF involve the collection of heterogeneous embryo data through diverse methods, including static images and temporal videos. However, traditional embryo selection methods, primarily reliant on visual inspection of morphology, exhibit variability and are contingent on the experience of practitioners. Therefore, an automated system that can evaluate heterogeneous embryo data to predict the final outcomes of live births is highly ***: We employed artificial intelligence (AI) for embryo morphological grading, blastocyst embryo selection, aneuploidy prediction, and final live-birth outcome prediction. We developed and validated the AI models using multitask learning for embryo morphological assessment, including pronucleus type on day 1 and the number of blastomeres, asymmetry, and fragmentation of blastomeres on day 3, using 19,201 embryo photographs from 8271 patients. A neural network was trained on embryo and clinical metadata to identify good-quality embryos for implantation on day 3 or day 5, and predict live-birth outcomes. Additionally, a 3D convolutional neural network was trained on 418 time-lapse videos of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)-based ploidy outcomes for the prediction of aneuploidy and consequent live-birth ***: These two approaches enabled us to automatically assess the implantation potential. By combining embryo and maternal metrics in an ensemble AI model, we evaluated live-birth outcomes in a prospective cohort that achieved higher accuracy than experienced embryologists (46.1%vs. 30.7% on day 3, 55.0%vs. 40.7% on day 5).
