We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 ke V,～300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 ke V,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for ～4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable ～10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of～10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.

Several nanostructures we produced by ion irradiation have been reviewed in this paper. By using ions to irradiate two ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene targets respectively, it was found that small fullerenes C20 and C26 were grown, adding two members to the fullerene family. Meanwhile, crystalline diamonds also have been produced by Ar+ ions irradiation of graphite. In the experiment of double ions Ni+ and Ar+ irradiation, nanoscale argon bubbles formed. On the other side, when multi-wall carbon nanotubes were irradiated by C+, many MWCNTs evolved to amorphous carbon nanowires and amorphous carbon nanotubes. And there are possible welding in the crossed nanotubes.

MicroRNA-9 （miR-9） has been shown to promote the differentiation of bone marrow mesen-chymal stem cells into neuronal cells, but the precise mechanism is unclear. Our previous study conifrmed that increased autophagic activity improved the efifciency of neuronal differentiation in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Accumulating evidence reveals that miRNAs adjust the autophagic pathways. This study used miR-9-1 lentiviral vector and miR-9-1 inhibitor to modulate the expression level of miR-9. Autophagic activity and neuronal differentiation were measured by the number of light chain-3 （LC3）-positive dots, the ratio of LC3-II/LC3, and the expression levels of the neuronal markers enolase and microtubule-associated protein 2. Re-sults showed that LC3-positive dots, the ratio of LC3-II/LC3, and expression of neuron speciifc enolase and microtubule-associated protein 2 increased in the miR-9＋ group. The above results suggest that autophagic activity increased and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were prone to differentiate into neuronal cells when miR-9 was overexpressed, demonstrating that miR-9 can promote neuronal differentiation by increasing autophagic activity.

Spontaneous perforation of an intramural rectal hematoma:Report of a case

Spontaneous hematomas are rare and most occur secondary to hematologic disorders or during anticoa- gulant therapy. Most spontaneous hematomas occur above the sigmoid colon, and rarely in the rectum. Herein we present the case of a patient with a spontaneous perforating hematoma of the rectum who presented with severe abdominal pain after a bloody stool. The hemoglobin level decreased by 33 g/L within 20 h. An abdominal sonogram showed a hydrops in the lower abdomen with a maximum depth of 7.0 cm. A hematoma, 8 cm x 6 cmx 5 cm in size, was noted intra-operatively in the rectosigmoid junction, with a 1.5-cm perforation in the hematoma and active hemorrhage. Thus, a partial rectectomy and sigmoidostomy were performed. Three months later, a second opera- tive procedure to re-establish intestinal continuity was performed. The patient is in good condition 12 mo after the last surgery. In addition to this case, the causes of spontaneous perforating hematomas and the treatment are discussed.

BACKGROUND Alimentary duplication is a rare congenital disease with a reported incidence of 1 per 4500 persons,although the exact incidence has been difficult to *** to previous reports,the most common site of duplication is the ileum,and colonic duplication is *** to different types and locations of the duplication,the manifestations are varied,which makes establishing an accurate diagnosis before surgery a *** SUMMARY A 17-year-old female patient sought evaluation in our department with constipation and chronic abdominal pain for 12 years;she had difficulty defecating and had dry stools since she was a *** abdominal computed tomography revealed two extremely enlarged loops of bowel full of stool-like intestinal contents in the left lower abdomen,which led us to consider the possibility of colonic duplication.A laparoscopic exploration was performed,which revealed a tubular duplicated colon that shared a common opening with the transverse colon.A left hemi-colectomy was performed with a side-to-side *** pathologic results confirmed the *** the 6-mo followup,the patient was doing well without constipation or abdominal *** Colonic duplication is a rare alimentary abnormality in *** to the nonspecific manifestations and low incidence,it is usually difficult to make an accurate diagnosis *** is the mainstay of treatment,even though some patients are asymptomatic.

Laparoscopic hepatectomy(LH)is considered a safe and effective method of treating liver cancer because of its relatively low level of trauma,bleeding,pain,and short hospital stay as compared with traditional open surgery[1].However,this is not ideal for tumors located in segment VII or VIII of the liver as these tumors are difficult to be exposed during laparoscopy,and the conversion rate is relatively high[2].Although it has been reported that the thoracoscopic transdiaphragmatic segment VII or VIII hepatectomy can obtain better visual field and operation space[3]。

The massive application of single crystal(SC)ternary cathode material liNi_(1-x-y)Mn_(x)Co_(y)O_(2)is largely restricted by the unsatisfactory rate capability which is caused by the sluggish li+diffusion and structural ***,Pr^(3+),a large radius ion is introduced to single-crystal liNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2)to enhance li^(+)conductivity and structural *** 0.4%Pr doping,the li(Ni_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2))_(0.996)Pr_(0.004)O_(2)cathode displays a capacity retention of 79.72%at 10 C,and a 98.17%capacity retention after 50 cycles at 25°C and 96.3%capacity retention after 50 cycles at 55°C within a 3.0–4.5 V voltage *** impedance spectroscopy confirms that the Pr doping can effectively lower the charge-transfer resistance and facilitate the transportation of li^(+)on the surface of liNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2).The Direct current internal resistance result implies that the structure of the Pr-doped cathode particles is more stable during *** addition,differential scanning calorimetry measurements measurement combined with in situ X-ray diffraction confirms the thermo-stabilization effect of the Pr dopant.
