Evaluation of photosynthesis, physiological, and biochemical responses of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L. cv. Pirouz) under water deficit stress and use of vermicompost fertilizer

One goal in the face of drought stress conditions is to increase growth and yield through the reduction of negative effects of stress. Vermicompost can play an effective role in plant growth and development and in reducing harmful effects of various environmental stresses on plants due to its porous structure, high water storage capacity, having hormone-like substances, plant growth regulators, and high levels of macro and micro nutrients. This study considered the physiological, biochemical, and photosynthetic responses of the chickpea to different combinations of vermicompost and water stress in a greenhouse environment. Two factors were involved, addition of vermicompost to soil at four ratios： control （100 wt% （weight percentage） sol0; 10 wt% vermicompost＋90% soil; 20 wt% vermicompost＋80 wt% soil; 30 wt% vermicompost＋70 wt% soil weight percentage, and treatment of water stress at three levels including 75, 50, and 25% of field capacity. The results showed that vermicompost had a significant effect on all traits under stress and non-stress conditions. Application of vermicompost in soil, especially at the levels of 20 and 30 wt% significantly increased all studied traits under non-stress conditions. Under moderate stress conditions, vermicompost at 30 wt% treatment resulted in a significant increase in the photosynthetic pigments, CO2 assimilation rate, internal leaf CO2 concentration, transpiration, the maximal quantum yield of photosystem II （PSII） photochemistry （FJF）, concentrations of Ca and K in root and leaf tissues, proline and soluble protein contents in root tissues. Peroxidase （POX） and catalase （CAT） enzyme activities decreased significantly with increasing proportions of vermicompost, but the activity of superoxide dismutase was not significantly different. Effects of probiotic supplementation on abdominal pain severity in pediatric patients with irritable bowel syndrome:a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials

Background Probiotic supplementation has been used to alleviate abdominal pain in children and adolescents with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),but the evidence is not ***,a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials(RCTs)were performed to investigate the effects of probiotic supplementation on abdominal pain in pediatric patients with *** PubMed/MEDLINE,Web of Science,Scopus,Cochrane Library,and Embase were the available databases searched to find relevant randomized clinical trials up to April *** effect size was expressed as weighted mean differenee(WMD)and 95% confidence interval(CI).Results Seven RCTs with 441 participants were included,from which the meta-analysis demonstrated that probiotic supplementation has a significant effect on reducing abdominal pain in pediatric patients with IBS(WMD=-2.36:95%CI-4.12 to-0.60;P=0.009).Although our study involved children and adolescents(≤18 years),the effects of probiotic supplementation seem to be more potent in patients under 10 years old(WMD=-2.55;95%CI-2.84 to -2.27)compared to patients aged 10-18 years(WMD=-1.70;95%CI-2.18 to -1.22).The length of supplementation longer than four weeks was more effective(WMD=-2.43;95%CI-2.76 to -2.09).Conclusion Probiotic supplementation can reduce abdominal pain in pediatric patients with IBS.

背景：膝骨关节炎的传统评估方法是基于患者的临床症状、体格检查和影像学表现做出判断，但是这些方法不能反映膝关节的动力学动态变化，不能多维度反映出膝关节的客观状态。六自由度步态分析系统为膝骨关节炎的严重程度提供了更加客观、更为实用的一种动态评估方法，为不同患者更精准的治疗方案提供了依据，从而优化患者的治疗策略。目的：综述膝骨关节炎的相关评估系统，将六自由度步态分析与传统评估膝骨关节炎严重程度的方法进行比较，探讨六自由度步态分析在指导膝骨关节炎治疗策略制定方面的应用效果。方法：通过计算机检索Google Scholar、PubMed数据库2002年1月至2023年6月发表的相关文献，英文检索词为“knee osteoarthritis,knee osteoarthritis severity,6DOF gait analysis,evaluation methods,WOMAC,KOOS”；中文检索词为“膝骨关节炎，关节炎评估系统，六自由度步态分析”，通过纳入与排除标准，最终选择65篇文献进行归纳总结。结果与结论：(1)六自由度步态分析提高了评估膝骨关节炎严重程度的准确性，依据该方法制定的治疗方案显著改善了患者的预后；(2)基于目前的研究发现，在临床实践中应规范六自由度步态分析与传统评估方法的结合，以便客观准确地评估膝骨关节炎，从而更好地选择治疗方案及评估个体化治疗策略的长期有效性。

Designing Evolutionary Wavelet Neural Network for Estimating Foaming Slag Quality in Electric Arc Furnace Using Power Quality Indices

In the present study,a novel approach based on an evolutionary wavelet neural network(EWNN)is proposed to estimate the slag quality in an electric arc furnace(EAF)employing power quality *** the EWNN,an evolutionary method is applied to train the parameters for a combination of neural networks and wavelets.I For this purpose,all of the electrical parameters for six melting processes are measured with a power quality analyzer,attached to the secondary component of an EAF transformer at a Saba steel complex,to estimate the foaming slag *** results on various combinations of measured electrical parameters,applying the designed EWNN estimator,demonstrate that utilizing five leading indicators leads to the highest *** obtained 99%accuracy for estimating the foaming slag quality by EWNN compared to the other methods illustrates the proposed method's efficiency.

Comparison of shallow tunneling method with pile and rib method for construction of subway station in soft ground

In the present study,a comparison between the new shallow tunneling method(STM)and the traditional pile and rib method(PRM)was conducted to excavate and construct subway stations in the geological conditions of ***,by selecting Station Z6 located in the Tehran Subway Line 6 as a case study,the construction process was analyzed by *** maximum ground settlement of 29.84 mm obtained from this method was related to the station axis,and it was within the allowable settlement limit of 30 *** acceptable agreement between the results of numerical modeling and instrumentation data indicated the confirmation and accuracy of the excavation and construction process of Station Z6 by *** the next stage,based on the numerical model validated by instrumentation data,the value of the ground surface settlement was investigated during the station excavation and construction by *** results obtained from STM showed a significant reduction in the ground surface settlement compared to *** maximum settlement obtained from STM was 6.09 mm as related to the front of the excavation ***,the sensitivity analysis results denoted that in addition to controlling the surface settlement by STM,it is possible to optimize some critical geometric parameters of the support system during the station excavation and construction.

Tunneling in submicron CMOS single-photon avalanche diodes

Tunneling is studied in two main single-photon avalanche diode （SPAD） topologies, which are r^-tub guard ring （NTGR） and p-tub guard ring （PTGR）. Device sinmlation, I - V measurements, and dark count calculations and measurements demonstrate that tunneling is the main source of noise in NTGR, but it is less dominant in PTGR SPADs. All structures are characterized with respect to dark noise, photon detection probability, tinting jitter, afterpulsing probability, and breakdown voltage. Noise performmme is disturbed because of tunneling, whereas jitter performance is disturbed because of the short diffusion time of photo-generated minority carriers in NTGR SPADs. The maximum photon detection probability is enhanced because of an improvement in absorption thickness.

On braced trapezoidal corrugated steel shear panels: An experimental and numerical study

In this study,a new system consisting of a combination of braces and steel infill panels called the braced corrugated steel shear panel(BCSSP)is *** obtain the hysteretic behavior of the proposed system,the quasistatic cyclic performances of two experimental specimens were first *** finite element modeling method was then verified based on the obtained experimental *** numerical evaluations were carried out to investigate the effects of different parameters on the ***,a relationship was established to estimate the buckling shear strength of the system without considering residual *** results obtained from the parametric study indicate that the corrugated steel shear panel(CSSP)with the specifications of a=30 mm,t=2 mm,andθ=90°had the highest energy dissipation capacity and ultimate strength while the CSSP with the specifications of a=30 mm,t=2 mm,andθ=30°had the highest initial *** can thus be concluded that the latter CSSP has the best structural performance and that increasing the number of corrugations,corrugation angle,and plate thickness and decreasing the sub-panel width generally enhance the performance of CSSPs in terms of the stability of their hysteretic behaviors.

Modelling the biological invasion of Prosopis juliflora using geostatistical-based bioclimatic variables under climate change in arid zones of southwestern Iran

Invasive species have been the focus of ecologists due to their undesired impacts on the *** extent and rapid increase in invasive plant species is recognized as a natural cause of global-biodiversity loss and degrading ecosystem *** invasions can affect ecosystems across a wide spectrum of bioclimatic *** the impact of climate change on species invasion is crucial for sustainable biodiversity *** this study,the possibility of mapping the distribution of invasive Prosopis juliflora(Swartz)*** shown using present background data in Khuzestan Province,*** removing the spatial bias of background data by creating weighted sampling bias grids for the occurrence dataset,we applied six modelling algorithms(generalized additive model(GAM),classification tree analysis(CTA),random forest(RF),multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS),maximum entropy(Max Ent)and ensemble model)to predict invasion distribution of the species under current and future climate conditions for both optimistic(RCP2.6)and pessimistic(RCP8.5)scenarios for the years 2050 and 2070,*** variables including weighted mean of CHELSA(climatologies at high resolution for the Earth’s land surface areas)-bioclimatic variables and geostatistical-based bioclimatic variables(1979–2020),physiographic variables extracted from shuttle radar topography mission(SRTM)and some human factors were used in modelling *** avoid causing a biased selection of predictors or model coefficients,we resolved the spatial autocorrelation of presence points and multi-collinearity of the *** in a conventional receiver operating characteristic(ROC),the area under curve(AUC)is calculated using presence and absence observations to measure the probability and the two error components are weighted *** models were evaluated using partial ROC at different thresholds and other statistical indices derived from confusion ***
