通过等温压缩实验,研究Al/Cu双金属复合材料在400~500℃、应变速率0.001~0.1 s^(-1)条件下的热变形行为,并考虑复合材料成分体积分数(Al含量为30%~51%)的影响。采用Arrhenius模型和混合定律(ROM)模型建立新的本构方程。流变应力(FS)实验表明,工艺参数和体积分数对复合材料的流变行为有影响,而Cu的体积分数对复合材料的高温流变行为影响更大。对于体积分数为51%、42%和30%Al的复合材料,建立的Arrhenius型本构方程和ROM模型的相关系数(R)分别为0.9826、0.9742和0.9718,其平均相对误差分别为0.18%、1.69%和-0.84%。结果表明,新建立的本构模型能较好地预测双金属复合材料的热加工行为。最后,研究不同工艺条件下复合材料的显微组织,确定三种不同成分Al/Cu复合材料在不同温度、应变和应变速率范围内的主要热变形机制。

In this paper， the hot deformation behavior of Al/Cu bimetal composites was investigated using isothermal compression tests at temperatures of 400–500 ℃， strain rates of 0.001–0.1 s-1by considering the effects of volume fractions of composite components (30%-51% Al). In this regard， new proper constitutive equations were developed using Arrhenius-type and the rule of mixture (ROM) models. Experimental flow stress (FS) showed that processing parameters and volume fraction affect the flow behavior of composite as the volume fraction of copper has a more substantial impact on the flow behavior of the composite rods at elevated temperatures. The values of correlation coefficient (R) and average relative error percentage of the developed Arrhenius-type constitutive equation and ROM model were 0.9826， 0.9742， and 0.9718， and also 0.18%， 1.69%， and -0.84% for volume fractions of 51， 42， and 30% Al， respectively. The results indicate that the newly developed constitutive model can successfully predict the hot working behavior of the considered bimetal composite. Finally， the microstructure of composites was investigated under different processing conditions. The dominant mechanisms for three considered volume fractions were identified at different ranges of temperature， strain， and strain rate specified for the hot deformation of the Al/Cu composite.

In this work we analyze the supply of biomass from field to an in-land or port destination. The biomass is pelletized to increase its bulk density to extend its storage period and for ease of its transport. The pellet may be used for conversion to chemicals and animal bedding or for straight combustion. We analyzed supply chain in Saskatchewan where there are plenty of crop residues but widely dispersed and harvest seasons are short. We envisioned that the farmer collects bales from field and transports the bales to farmstead during the harvest season. The bales are then processed into pellets using small scale pellet equipment. A custom operator with expertise in pelletization may engage in handling and densifying the biomass. The business case for the mobile mill will be similar to the well established custom grain and forage harvesting operations. The pellets are stored in hopper bottom grain bins at the farmstead. From this point, the handling of pellets would be similar to the handling and marketing of grain. The farmer trucks a specified volume of pellets from farmstead to the nearest elevator where the pellets are transferred to larger bins or silos. Pellets are extracted from silos and loaded onto the rail cars. The Canadian freight rail companies (mainly CN) currently transport over 3 million dry tonne (dt) of wood pellets in rail cars. The pellets are hauled to marine ports on the West Coast or East Coast for export. The cost of delivering ag pellets to biorefinery or to the shipping port is $86.09/dt. This cost does not include the equivalent value of removing biomass from the farm (e.g. fertilizer replacement) and return on investment. The GHG emissions to produce and transport ag pellets add up to 185.9 kg of CO2 per dt of biomass. The cost of producing pellets without drying feedstock is $35.05/dt and the corresponding GHG for palletization amounts $146.30/dt.

The effects of varying the mass and volume of ground chip and pellet particles on the particle drying rate were analyzed. Samples of whole pellets and chips were hammer milled using a 3.2 mm screen and the ground chip and pellet particles were found to have similar size distributions, although the pellet particles were denser and more spherical than the chip particles. Prior to drying, water was added to the particles to obtain 0.10, 0.30, 0.50, 0.70, and 0.90 moisture contents （on a dry mass basis）. The moistened particles were subsequently dried in a constant temperature thin layer dryer set at 50,100, 150, or 200 ~C under dry pure nitrogen, dry compressed air, or atmospheric air. The chip and pellet particles exhibited similar degrees of shrinkage, but the pellet particles underwent a greater reduction in their bulk volume during drying. It appears that the more spherical pellet particles are prone to shrinkage in more than one direction, whereas the needle-like chip particle shrink only in one direction. A variable radius first order drying model was found to fit the experimental data better than a fixed radius model.

The mechanical properties such as hardness and ultimate tensile strength of metals depend on the grain size, which have to be properly controlled and optimized to ensure the better economy and desirable mechanical characteristics of the metals. In order to study the microstructure evolution of AA1070, many experimental tests were conducted at different cold working and annealing conditions. Utilizing the experimental results, the static recrystallization and grain growth behavior of AA1070 have been investigated and the developed equations that can be used to the FEM of the annealing process have been obtained. The agreement between numerical modeling and experimental results is reasonably good for this material. The results showed that the recrystallization and grain growth behavior of AA1070 was evidently affected by both the annealing temperature and plastic strain.

Objective:To test the effect of supplementation of Thymus vulgaris L.(***)or Glycyrrhizaglabra(***)in corn-soybean meal diets as well as the inclusion of an exogenous enzyme ***^(®)in barley-soybean meal diets together with mentioned medicinal plants in broiler ***:A total of 270 unsexed 1-day-old broiler chickens(Ross 308)was randomly assigned to 6 treatments with 3 replications of 15 birds in *** were comprised of the control(T1),the inclusion of ***,***,their mixture(equal amount),Combo^(®)supplementation(T2,T3,T4 and T5,respectively)in diets based on corn-soybean meal diets and enzyme supplementation plus equal amount of tested medicinal plants(T6)based on barley-soybean meal *** plants and enzyme were included in diets at level 0.5%and 0.2%of diets,***:The highest feed intake was obtained by T1 at 1-21 d of age(P<0.05).All diets caused significant increases in weight gain and significant decreases in feed conversion ratio compared to control at this age(P<0.05).Significant reductions were acquired in feed intake by T3 and T6 at 22-42 d of age(P<0.05).All diets significantly decreased total number of aerobic bacteria,coliforms,Gram-negative bacteria and increased lactic acid bacteria compared to control(P<0.05).Conclusions:The results showed that basal diet has vital character to effectiveness of medicinal plants in broiler *** effects on intestinal microflora were brought by use of *** *** *** in corn-based diets or in barley-based diets together with ***,this capability can support growth performance of broiler chickens at lower age.

The purposes of this research were to synthesize and characterize star-shaped poly lactide-co-glycolide-β-cyclo-dextrin (PLGA-β-CD) copolymer by reacting L-lactide, glycolide and β-cyclodextrin in the presence of stannous octoate as a catalyst. The structure of PLGA-β-CD copolymer was confirmed with 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and FT-IR spectra. Albumin as a model peptide drug was encapsulated within nanoparticles made of PLGA-β-CD with a modified double emulsion method. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) photomicrographs showed that the nanoparticles have the mean diameter within the range of 80 - 210 nm. Also they were almost spherical in shape. Effects of the experimental parameters, such as copolymer composition, copolymer concentration, and reaction temperature, on particular size and encapsulation efficiency were investigated.
