Recently, governments and public authorities in most countries had to face the outbreak of COVID-19 by adopting a set of policies. Consequently, some countries have succeeded in minimizing the number of confirmed cases while the outbreak in other countries has led to their healthcare systems breakdown. In this work, we introduce an efficient framework called COMAP (COrona MAP), aiming to study and predict the behavior of COVID-19 based on deep learning techniques. COMAP consists of two stages: clustering and prediction. The first stage proposes a new algorithm called Co-means, allowing to group countries having similar behavior of COVID-19 into clusters. The second stage predicts the outbreak’s growth by introducing two adopted versions of LsTM and Prophet applied at country and continent scales. The simulations conducted on the data collected by WHO demonstrated the efficiency of COMAP in terms of returning accurate clustering and predictions.

Context: The prognostic significance of expression of V-Crk avian sarcoma virus CT10 oncogene homolog-like (CRKL) and Protein kinase CK2 β in endometroid carcinoma is not fully clarified. Aim: To assess the prognostic values and clinicopathological roles of CRKL and CK2 β expression in endometroid carcinoma by correlation their expression levels with clinicopathological parameters, response to therapy, and recurrence of the tumor and patients survival. settings: Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, and Mansoura University. Methods: CRKL and CK2 β expressions were evaluated in 50 paraffin blocks EC patients that were followed up for 5 years. The relationship between their level of expressions, clinicopathological criteria and prognosis of patients was analyzed. statistical analysis used: sPss 22.0 for windows (sPss Inc., Chicago, IL, UsA) and MedCalc windows (software bvba 13, Ostend, Belgium). Results: High expression of CRKL and CK was positively correlated with higher grade of the tumor (p = 0.004 and 0.006 respectively), presence of L.N metastases (p = 0.009 and 0.003 respectively), presence of distant metastases (p = 0.029 and 0.003 respectively) and advanced FIGO stage (p 0.001), poor response to therapy (p = 0.046 and 0.005 respectively), higher incidence of recurrence of the tumor after therapy (p = 0.004 and 0.048 respectively), higher incidence of cancer progression p = 0.018 and 0.044 respectively), poor PFs (p = 0.008 and 0.013 respectively), and Os rates

目的:观察护肝利水汤联合特利加压素对肝硬化腹水患者临床疗效、血清指标与门静脉压力指标的影响。方法:选取94例肝硬化腹水患者纳入本次研究,分别纳入西药组和联合组,西药组给予常规西药治疗,联合组在西药治疗方法的基础上加用自拟护肝利水汤;1个疗程后,对比临床疗效,观察两组患者治疗前后临床与血清指标、门静脉压力指标及脾静脉内径的变化情况,统计治疗期间不良反应发生率。结果:两组临床疗效对比联合组更优(P<0.05),总有效率为联合组97.87%、西药组85.11%,差异均有统计学意义;治疗后,两组患者24 h尿量、腹水深度、体重、腹围,Cre、ALB、PT,门静脉主干内径、门静脉血流量、门静脉血流速及脾静脉内径均较本组治疗前改善,且两组对比联合组更优(P<0.05)。结论:护肝利水汤联合特利加压素能够提高肝硬化腹水的临床疗效,进一步改善患者临床指标、血清指标与门静脉压力指标。

The purpose of this study was to determine the most accurate method in estimating the preoperative uterine weight of enlarged nongravid uteri. study design: We performed a retrospective review of 1238 patients who were premenopausal and underwent hysterectomy for benign indications between January 1993 and July 1999. Eight hundred and sixty four patients were selected to include only those that had both a reported bimanual assessment of preoperative uterine size and an ultrasonography report with all 3 estimated uterine dimensions. Reported uterine sizes on bimanual examination were converted to clinical weight (CWT). Two different calculations were used to estimate uterine weight from ultrasound measurements (UWT 1 and 2). Actual uterine weights (AWT) in pathology reports were then compared with the findings of bimanual assessment and the calculated weights to determine which method is the best predictor of AWT. simple linear regression analysis was used to measure and compare how closely the estimated weights predicted the actual weight. Predictive residuals sum of squares (PREss) was then used to determine the best predictor of actual weight. Results: After exploring the data using linear modeling, all 3 estimated weights were significantly correlated to the actual weight when compared, but PREss scores showed that the clinical weight estimate was superior by far compared with the other 2. Conclusion: In this study, bimanual assessment was shown to be the most accurate method of preoperative uterine weight estimation. Ultrasound examination may not be routinely needed when deciding the route of hysterectomy based on estimated weight.

Background &Aims: Imatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor of BCR-ABL, KIT, and platelet-derived growth factor receptor, is used in patients with chronic myel ogenous leukemia (CML)and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIsT). Primary and ac quired resistance to the drug can occur in both diseases. Molecular mechanisms h ave been reported in CML and GIsT for primary resistance, whereas extensive stud ies on the mechanisms responsible for secondary resistance have been almost excl usively reported for CML. Methods: In a patient with advanced GIsT undergoing im atinib therapy,an isolated progressing peritoneal mass was excised, along with 2 still-responding lesions. Complementary DNA and genomic DNA were analyzed by s equencing for c-Kit gene mutations. KIT receptor expression and phosphorylation status were assessed by immunoprecipitation and Western blot. Transient-transf ection experiments were performed with mutagenized KIT constructs, and their act ivation status was assessed. Results: In addition to an exon11 mutation, shared among all of the analyzed lesions, a novel point mutation in c-Kit exon 14 resu lting in T670I substitution was found only in the progressing lesion, which harb ored aphosphorylated receptor, as opposed to the finding of an inactive receptor in responding lesions. Functional analyses showed that KIT/T670I is insensitive to imatinib and that T670I mutation,introduced in a receptor responding to imat inib, subverted its sensitivity to the drug. Conclusions: This new mutation was confined to the progressing lesion; the resulting amino acidic substitution, T67 0I, affecting the ATP/imatinib pocket of KIT,makes it insensitive to the drug. I nterestingly, this substitution is a homologue to the T315I mutation already rep orted in CML,where it is responsible for acquired resistance to imatinib.
