PagMYB128 regulates secondary cell wall formation by direct activation of cell wall biosynthetic genes during wood formation in poplar

Hydrological Modelling of the Casamance River in Its Upstream Section (Basin at Kolda Level) to Predict Its Future States as a Function of Different Stresses

Flow records for stations in the Casamance basin are incomplete. Several gaps were noted over the 1980-2021 study period, making this study tedious. The aim of this study is to assess the potential impact of climate change on the flow of the Casamance watershed at Kolda. To this end, hydrological series are simulated and then extended using the GR2M rainfall-runoff model, with a monthly time step. Projected climate data are derived from a multi-model ensemble under scenarios SSP2-4.5 (scenario with additional radiative forcing of 4.5 W/m2 by 2099) and SSP5-8.5 (scenario with additional radiative forcing of 8.5 W/m2 by 2099). An analysis of the homogeneity of the rainfall data series from the Kolda station was carried out using KhronoStat software. The Casamance watershed was then delimited using ArcGIS to determine the morphometric parameters of the basin, which will be decisive for the rest of the work. Next, monthly evapotranspiration was calculated using the formula proposed by Oudin et al. This, together with rainfall and runoff, forms the input data for the model. The GR2M model was then calibrated and cross-validated using various simulations to assess its performance and robustness in the Casamance watershed. The version of the model with the calibrated parameters will make it possible to extend Casamance river flows to 2099. This simulation of future flows with GR2M shows a decrease in the flow of the Casamance at Kolda with the two scenarios SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 during the rainy period, and almost zero flows during the dry season from the period 2040-2059.

The discovery of efficient,selective,and stable electrocatalysts can be a key point to produce the largescale chemical fuels via electrochemical CO_(2) reduction(eCR).In this study,an earth-abundant and nontoxic ZnO-based electrocatalyst was developed for use in gas-diffusion electrodes(GDe),and the effect of nitrogen(N)doping on the eCR activity of ZnO electrocatalysts was ***,a ZnO nanosheet was prepared via the hydrothermal method,and nitridation was performed at different times to control the N-doping *** an increase in the N-doping content,the morphological properties of the nanosheet changed significantly,namely,the 2D nanosheets transformed into irregularly shaped ***,the eCR performance of Zn O electrocatalysts with different N-doping content was assessed in 1.0 M KHCO_(3) electrolyte using a gas-diffusion electrode-based eCR *** the eCR activity increased after a small amount of N doping,it decreased for higher N doping *** them,the N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalysts showed the best CO selectivity,with a faradaic efficiency(Fe_(CO))of 92.7%at-0.73 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHe),which was greater than that of an undoped Zn O electrocatalyst(Fe_(CO)of 63.4%at-0.78 V_(RHe)).Also,the N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst exhibited outstanding durability for 16 h,with a partial current density of-92.1 mA cm^(-2).This improvement of N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst can be explained by density functional theory calculations,demonstrating that this improvement of N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst comes from(ⅰ)the optimized active sites lowering the free energy barrier for the rate-determining step(RDS),and(ⅱ)the modification of electronic structure enhancing the electron transfer rate by N doping.

salmonella grows better under aerobic conditions as a facultative anaerobic foodborne pathogenic bacteria. The oxygen-scavenging activity of Lactococcus lactis in the intestinal tract is a promising strategy for preventing salmonella infection. In this study， the aerobic respiration requirement and preventive mechanism of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis (L. lactis) KLDS 4.0325 in murine models infected by salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium (S. Typhimurium) SL1344 were investigated. Results indicate that L. lactis KLDS 4.0325 is capable of aerobic respiratory metabolism in the host intestine when exogenous heme exists， and decrease intestinal oxygen concentration， which in turn trigger autophagy of intestinal cells to reduce S. Typhimurium load， improve gut microbiota composition， alleviate intestinal barrier injury and inflammation response. These results suggest that aerobic respiration L. lactis KLDS 4.0325 can prevent S. Typhimurium infection in a new way in which by restoring intestinal cell hypoxia， maintaining immune balance and regulating intestinal flora.

Supertetragonal BaZrS: A promising perovskite sulphide with giant ferroelectricity and low band gap

Over the past century, ferroelectricity has offered exciting opportunities for fundamental research and device ***, most of the discovered excellent ferroelectrics are oxide materials with large band gaps, limiting their potential for optoelectronics applications. Here using first-principles calculations we identify a new narrow-gap ferroelectric beyond oxides,i.e., ferroelectric perovskite sulphide BaZrS3. Under large compressive strains, BaZrS3can be stabilized into a unique supertetragonal phase with an extraordinary polarization of 67.16 μC/cm2, which is even stronger than that of conventional oxide ferroelectrics. excitingly, the supertetragonal BaZrS3exhibits a direct narrow band gap of 1.2 eV and excellent electronic properties. Based on the chemical bonding analysis, we attribute the formation of supertetragonal phase to charge re-ordering in which the π bond overlap along the long ?Zr-S? bond completely vanishes and the antibonding states of the σ bond appear below the Fermi level. Our work provides a conceptual strategy for designing new ferroelectrics for electronic and photovoltaic applications.
