A recurrent pandemic with.unpredictable viral nature has implied the need for a rapid diagnostic technology to facilitate timely and appropriate countermeasures against viral *** this study,conductive polymer-based nanoparticles have been developed as a tool for rapid diagnosis of influenza A(h1N1)*** distinctive property of a conductive polymer that transduces stimulus to respond,enabled immediate optical signal processing for the specific recognition of h1N1 *** poly(aniline-co-pyrrole)-encapsulated polymeric vesicles,functionalized with peptides,were fabricated for the specific recognition of h1N1 *** low solubility of conductive polymers was successfully improved by employing vesicles consisting of amphiphilic copolymers,facilitating the viral titer-dependent production of the optical *** optical response of the detection system to the binding event with h1N1,a mechanical stimulation,was extensively analyzed and provided concordant information on viral titers of h1N1 virus in 15 *** specificity toward the h1N1 virus was experimentally demonstrated via a negative optical response against the control group,***,the designed system that transduces the optical response to the target-specific binding can be a rapid tool for the diagnosis of h1N1.

We report the first recorded capture of a blue-banded sea snake（Laticauda laticaudata Linnaeus, 1758, Jobeuntti Kun Badabam in Korean） in South Korea based on one male specimen collected from Marado-ri, Seogwiposi, Jeju-do on 20 October 2016. The morphological features of the lateral nostrils, the much wider ventrals than adjacent dorsals, the horizontally undivided rostral, the two prefrontals, and the uniform black bands on the body indicate that the specimen is L. laticaudata. An analysis of the partial mitochondrial cytochrome b gene sequence indicated that the specimen fits well into the known L. laticaudata phylogenetic group, which confirms that the sea krait is L. laticaudata. Including this report, five species of sea snakes（L. laticaudata, L. semifasciata, hydrophis platurus, h. cyanocinctus, and h. melanocephalus） have now been reported in Korean waters.

We investigate the impact of Ni insertion on the structural,optical,and magnetic properties of Ba_(0.8)La_(0.2)Fe_(12-x)Ni_(x)O_(19)hexaferrites(Ni substituted La-BaM hexaferrites).Samples were prepared using the conventional co-precipitation method and sintered at 1000℃for 4 hours to assist the crystallization *** analysis of the structure of the samples was carried out using an x-ray diffraction(XRD)*** M-type hexagonal structure of all the samples was confirmed using XRD *** lattice parameters a and c were found to be in the ranges of 5.8925±0.001 nm–5.8952±0.001 nm and 23.2123±0.001 nm–23.2219±0.001 nm,*** M-type hexagonal nature of the prepared samples was also indicated by the presence of corresponding FT-IR bands and Raman modes in the FT-IR and Raman spectra,*** results confirmed the successful synthesis of the samples according to the required stoichiometric ratio.A UV-vis spectrometer was used to record the absorption spectra of the prepared samples in the wavelength range of 200 nm–1100 *** optical energy bandgap of the samples was found to be in the range of 1.21 eV–3.39 *** M–h loops of the samples were measured at room temperature at an applied magnetic field range of 0 kOe–60 kOe.A high saturation magnetization of 99.92 emu/g was recorded in the sample with x=0 at a microwave operating frequency of 22.2 *** high value of saturation magnetization is due to the substitution of La3+ions at the spin-up(12k,2a,and 2b)*** Ni substitution is proven to be a potential candidate for the tuning of the optical and magnetic parameters of M-type ***,we suggest that the prepared samples are suitable for use in magneto-optic applications.

Rapid development of vaccines and therapeutics is necessary to tackle the emergence of new pathogens and infectious *** speed up the drug discovery process,the conventional development pipeline can be retooled by introducing advanced in vitro models as alternatives to conventional infectious disease models and by employing advanced technology for the production of medicine and cell/drug delivery *** this regard,layer-by-layer construction with a 3D bioprinting system or other technologies provides a beneficial method for developing highly biomimetic and reliable in vitro models for infectious disease *** addition,the high flexibility and versatility of 3D bioprinting offer advantages in the effective production of vaccines,therapeutics,and relevant delivery ***,we discuss the potential of 3D bioprinting technologies for the control of infectious *** also suggest that 3D bioprinting in infectious disease research and drug development could be a significant platform technology for the rapid and automated production of tissue/organ models and medicines in the near future.

Developing efficient separation materials for recovering metal resources from aqueous environments is crucial for the sustainable water–food–energy nexus,which addresses the interdependence between energy production,water production,and energy *** material-based separation processes have demonstrated outstanding ***,electric energy and chemicals are used to frequently replace the separation materials used in such processes owing to their short life *** study presents a methodology for designing the self-regenerable fiber(SRF)according to the types of metals through a self-regeneration *** SRF can semi-permanently recover the metal resources from water through a repetitive adsorption–crystallization–detachment process of metal ions on its *** ionic metal resources are adsorbed and crystallized with the counter-anions on the SRF ***,the metal crystals are self-detached from the SRF surface by the collision between the crystals and curvature and non-sticky surface of the ***,a module containing the SRF maintains its metal recovery capability even during continuous injection of the metal solution without its *** findings highlight the significance of interfacial engineering and further guide the rational design of energy/environmentally friendly resource recovery modules.

BACKGROunD The infusion of triolein emulsion(TE)induced increased vascular permeability and a negligible and temporary decrease in liver function without specific histopathological *** To assess changes in doxorubicin concentration according to the percentage of TE infused via a hepatic artery to study the vascular permeability in the rabbit *** Thirty-nine healthy rabbits were divided into five groups according to the concentration of emulsified triolein infused into the hepatic arteries:Group 0,saline infusion(control group,n=5);group 1,0.3%TE(n=13);group 2,0.6%TE(n=6);group 3,0.9%TE(n=8);and group 4,1.5%TE(n=6).Doxorubicin(2.4 mg/kg)was infused immediately after TE injection via the hepatic *** 2 h,the livers were harvested,and doxorubicin concentrations were calculated *** doxorubicin concentrations were compared between TE groups and the control group,and the optimal concentrations within the TE groups were *** analysis was performed using the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test.Phe liver,doxorubicin concentrations were 2.06,2.07,2.16 and 1.66 times higher in groups 1 through 4,respectively,and significantly higher in the TE groups than in the control group(all Phowever,there were no significant differences in the mean doxorubicin concentrations between the four TE groups(P=0.642).In the lungs,the mean doxorubicin concentrations were not significantly different between the control and TE groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION TE infusion into the hepatic arteries significantly increased the doxorubicin concentration approximately twofold but was not different between the TE *** findings suggest that TE infusion might be a useful adjuvant treatment of liver cancers.

Objective： To investigate whether the methanol extract of Berberis amurensis Rupr. （BAR） augments penile erection using in vitro and in vivo experiments. Methods： The ex vivo study used corpus cavemosum strips prepared from adult male New Zealand White rabbits. In in vivo studies for intracavernous pressure （ICP）, blood pressure, mean arterial pressure （MAP）, and increase of peak ICP were continuously monitored during electrical stimulation of Sprague-Dawley rats. Results： Preconstricted with phenylephrine （PE） in isolated endothelium- intact rabbit corus cavernosum, BAR relaxed penile smooth muscle in a dose-dependent manner, which was inhibited by pretreatment with NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester （L-NAME）, a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, and 1h-[1,2,4]-oxadiazole-[4,3-α]-quinoxalin-l-one, a soluble guanylyl cclase inhibitor. BAR significantly relaxed penile smooth muscles dose-dependently in ex vivo, and this was inhibited by pretreatment with L-NAME 1h-[1,2,4]- oxadiazole-[4,3-α ]-quinoxalin-l-one. BAR-induced relaxation was significantly attenuated by pretreatment with tetraethylammonium （TEA, P〈0.01）, a nonselective K＋ channel blocker, 4-aminopyridine （4-AP, P〈0.01）, a voltage-dependent K＋ channel blocker, and charybdotoxin （P〈0.01）, a large and intermediate conductance Ca2. sensitive-K＋ channel blocker, respectively. BAR induced an increase in peak ICP, ICP/MAP ratio and area under the curve dose dependently. Conclusion： BAR augments penile erection via the nitric oxide/cyclic guanosine monophosphate system and Ca2. sensitive-K＋（BK＋ and IK＋） channels in the corpus cavemosum.

研究树木种群的空间分布和关联,对了解森林群落的动态形成过程具有重要意义。红松(Pinus koraiensis)是阔叶红松林的建群种。然而,对于红松与群落水平上的针叶树种(ND)和落叶树种(BD)不同发育阶段的木本植物种群的空间点格局和关联性,仍知之甚少。因此,了解红松的种群结构及其与其它树种的空间关系,对于恢复红松和维护中国东北阔叶红松混交林的重要生态功能至关重要。本研究以沿纬度梯度分布的东北地区5个阔叶红松林大样地(长白山、穆棱、凉水、丰林和胜山国家自然保护区)为研究对象,分析了红松种群结构和红松空间格局、红松种群间以及与其它树种间在群落水平上的空间关联差异。根据可达到的最大高度,将树种划分为不同的生活型:林冠层(h≥20 m)、中间层(h≥5 m)和灌木层(h≤5 m)。同样,每种生活型根据胸径(DBh)大小分为不同的生活史阶段。应用单变量、双变量成对相关函数和标记相关函数,利用完全空间随机零模型、异质性零模型和先决条件零模型分析了空间分布格局和空间关联性。东北地区红松的胸径直方图显示,长白山样地的红松种群呈单峰和钟形分布,在成熟阶段达到峰值,穆棱和胜山的红松种群呈指数下降趋势,而凉水和丰林的红松种群呈双峰分布,在幼树和成熟树阶段有两个最高峰。在长白山样地只有3株红松幼树(7.5cm≥DBh),表明长白山样地红松种群的更新差,而其它4个样地则表现出中等或扩大的种群结构。红松种群的空间分布格局分析显示,在完全空间随机零模型下,红松不同生命阶段在0～40 m尺度上有显著聚集分布,在异质性泊阿松零模型下,大部分的聚集尺度减小到10 m。此外,聚集程度随着生命阶段的增加而减小。红松种群的种内空间关联性分析显示,不同样地红松不同生命阶段之间存在正相关或负相关的空间关联。红松在不同生命阶段的种间空间关联表明,在0～40 m尺度上,幼树与未成年树(15 cm≥DBh≥7.5 cm)呈正相关关系,幼树与成熟树(70 cm≥DBh≥15 cm)呈现无相关或负相关关系,成熟树与老龄树(DBh≥70 cm)呈现负相关或无相关关系。虽然红松在不同尺度上有显著的聚群分布,但是标记相关函数的结果表示标记(DBh)和距离之间呈现负相关,显示有相互抑制关系。在五个大样地中,红松与其它树种在群落水平上的空间关联性表现出相似的趋势。针叶树种不同生活史各阶段在0～10 m范围内与红松幼树和未成年树呈现空间正相关,而在较大尺度上与较大的红松树呈现出空间独立或负相关。所有阔叶树种组,分为林冠层(BD1)、中间层(BD2)和灌木层(BD3)在小尺度上与红松均表现出轻微的正相关,并且在大多数尺度上呈显著的负相关。由于不同样地的物种组成、种群结构和土地利用历史以及环境因素各不相同,空间点格局特征与纬度之间没有任何趋势和相关性。研究结果表明,林分异质性(林隙、地形、土壤等等)、种子传播限制和种间竞争是红松阔叶混交林空间格局的主要特征。红松与阔叶树的所有生活史阶段间存在强烈的种间竞争,这可能会限制红松的生长和存活。本研究为红松阔叶混交林的管理和恢复提供了理论依据。
