The heterogeneous loss of hO_(2)radicals onto ambient aerosols plays an important role in tropospheric ***,sparse investigation of the dominating parameters controlling the hO_(2)uptake coefficients onto ambient aerosols(γhO_(2))has largely hindered the application of the measuredγhO_(2)to the global spatial *** we induced an offine method using LFP-LIF technique to measure the kinetics of hO_(2)uptake onto ambient aerosols collected in summertime and wintertime in Yokohama city,a regional urban site near Tokyo,*** controlling the dominating parameters which infuenceγhO_(2),we were able to investigate the detailed hO_(2)uptake *** characterized the chemical composition of the collected ambient aerosols,including organics,inorganics,transition metals ions,*** modeledγhO_(2)using different *** show thatγhO_(2)increased with the increase in Rh,and the aerosol states(“dry”or wet/aqueous)have large effects onγhO_(2).With fixed Rh and aerosol chemical composition,γhO_(2)was highly dependent on ph and inversely correlated with[hO_(2)]_*** combing the measuredγhO_(2)values with the modeled ones,we found that both the hO_(2)self-reaction and transition metal-catalyzed reactions should be accounted for to yield a single parameterization to predictγhO_(2),and different chemical compositions may have collective effects onγhO_(2).Results may serve for extending theγhO_(2)values measured at one observation site to different environmental conditions,which will help us to achieve more accurate modeling results concerning secondary pollutant formation(i.e.,ozone).

Microporous molecular crystals are promising materials because of their designable porosity as well as their resistance to chemical and other ***,we developed microporous molecular cocrystals by taking advantage of the specific interactions between porphyrins and fullerene ***-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that one nickel(II)porphyrin interacts with two fullerene molecules to form a two-dimensional honeycomb network with an eclipsed stacking mode,providing onedimensional void *** the pores were activated by heat treatment or mechanical grinding,the prepared cocrystal can incorporate gas and solvent molecules reversibly while maintaining its ***,it retained its single-crystallinity in the presence of water,acid−base,or high *** findings in this study expand the availability of molecular crystals based on intermolecular interactions as porous materials,which are expected to work under conditions that have not been applicable to other molecule-based porous materials.

Phototropin-and photosynthesis-dependent mitochondrial positioning in Arabidopsis thaliana mesophyll cells^FA

Mitochondria are frequently observed in the vicinity of chloroplasts in photosynthesizing cells, and this association is considered necessary for their metabolic in-teractions. We previously reported that, in leaf palisade cel s of Arabidopsis thaliana, mitochondria exhibit blue-light-dependent redistribution together with chloroplasts, which conduct accumulation and avoidance responses under the control of blue-light receptor phototropins. In this study, precise motility analyses by fluorescent micro-scopy revealed that the individual mitochondria in palisade cel s, labeled with green fluorescent protein, exhibit typical stop-and-go movement. When exposed to blue light, the velocity of moving mitochondria increased in 30 min, whereas after 4 h, the frequency of stoppage of mi-tochondrial movement markedly increased. Using different mutant plants, we concluded that the presence of both phototropin1 and phototropin2 is necessary for the early acceleration of mitochondrial movement. On the contrary, the late enhancement of stoppage of mitochondrial movement occurs only in the presence of phototropin2 and only when intact photosynthesis takes place. A plasma-membrane ghost assay suggested that the stopped mi-tochondria are firmly adhered to chloroplasts. These re-sults indicate that the physical interaction between mi-tochondria and chloroplasts is cooperatively mediated by phototropin2- and photosynthesis-dependent signals. The present study might add novel regulatory mechanism for light-dependent plant organel e interactions.

PREPARATION OF IODINE-INCLUDED CARBON USING RF PLASMA CVD

For the aim of synthesis of the carbon-iodine compound, the preparation of iodin e-included carbon using RF plasma CVD was studied. Iodine-included carbon was sy nthesized on Si substrate using ICP type RF plasma CVD apparatus. C2h5Oh and I2 dissolved C2h5Oh was used as reactant gases. As a result, surface morphologies o f Iodine included carbon films showed flat surfaces for each samples. On the str ucture of films estimated by Raman spectroscopy, amorphous carbon was recognized . And I2 peaks were observed in XPS spectra. As a result of friction test, frict ion coefficient of the sample growth with C2h5Oh showed about 0.45. On the other hand, that of the sample with I2-C2h5Oh showed about 0.3 and decrease of fricti on coefficient was recognized. Iodine inclusion for carbon materials can be achi eved by RF plasma CVD using an I2-C2h5Oh reactant. The coefficient of iodine-inc luded carbon showed lower than of without iodine

Fabrication of iron disilicide from multilayer by helicon plasma sputtering

helicon plasma sputtering of Fe/Si multilayer followed by thermal annealing in Ar atmosphere was used to fabricate β-FeSi2 films. [Fe 0.5nm/Si 1.6nm] 120 multilayer was deposited on Si（100） substrate and then the samples were annealed at 900℃ for 2h or at 9001000℃ for 10s. Annealed samples were characterized by X-ray diffractometry（XRD）, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and optical absorption measurement. （202）/（220） oriented β-FeSi2 films are fabricated from the multilayer according to XRD patterns. It is found that there is a very small redistribution of Fe and Si components in the films during the thermal annealing, so that a good stoichiometry of FeSi2 can be obtained. It is also revealed by scanning electron microscopy that multilayer technology can result in a smooth surface for β-FeSi2 films. Optical absorption spectra demonstrate that the films have a direct band gap of 0.9eV at room temperature.

Combined preoperative platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio and serum carbohydrate antigen 19–9 level as a prognostic factor in patients with resected pancreatic cancer

Background: Carbohydrate antigen 19–9(CA19-9) is the most frequently used tumor marker and serves as a prognostic indicator in patients with pancreatic cancer(PC). The platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR) is thought to be an inflammation-related serum marker. An elevated PLR represents increased inflammatory status and is associated with poor prognosis in patients with various cancers including PC. Methods: This study involved 103 patients with a histopathological diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who underwent pancreatectomy. The patients were assessed to determine the prognostic significance of the combination of the PLR and CA19-9 level. Results: Based on the receiver operating characteristic analysis results, the patients were divided into PLR h igh(PLR ≥ 129.1) andPLRLow(PLR high(CA19-9 ≥ 74.0 U/mL) and CA19-9Low(CA19-9 he cumulative 5-year overall survival(OS) and disease-specific survival(DSS) rates significantly differed by both the PLR(PLR h igh group: 19.5% and 22.9%;PLRLow group: 39.1% and 45.9%) and CA19-9(CA19-9 h igh group: 19.1% and 25.6%;CA19-9Low group: 41.0% and 41.0%). We then divided the patients into Groups A(PLR L ow/CA19-9Low), B(PLR Low/CA19-9high or PLRhigh/CA19-9Low), and C(PLR h igh/CA19-9high). The cumulative 5-year OS rates in Groups A, B, and C were 44.0%, 31.9%, and 11.9%, respectively( P = 0.002). The cumulative 5-year DSS rates in Groups A, B, and C were 47.7%, 36.4%, and 16.8%, respectively( P = 0.002). Multivariate analysis revealed that the combination of the PLR and CA19-9 was an independent prognostic factor in patients with resected PC. Conclusions: The combination of the PLR and CA19-9 is useful for predicting the prognosis of patients with resected PC.

Phenomenological aspects of possible vacua of a neutrino flavor model

We discuss a supersymmetric model with discrete flavor symmetry A4×Z3. The additional scalar fields which contribute masses of leptons in the Yukawa terms are introduced in this model. We analyze their scalar potential and find that they have various vacuum structures. We show the relations among 24 different vacua and classify them into two types. We derive expressions of the lepton mixing angles, Dirac CP violating phase and Majorana phases for the two types. The model parameters which are allowed by the experimental data of the lepton mixing angles are different for each type. We also study the constraints on the model parameters which are related to Majorana phases. The different allowed regions of the model parameters for the two types are shown numerically for a given region of two combinations of the CP violating phases.

Magnetic Sensorless Control of Plasma Position and Shape in a Tokamak

Magnetic sensorless sensing and control experiments with the plasma horizontal position have been carried out in the superconducting tokamak hT-7. The sensing is made to focus on the ripple frequency component of the power supply with thyristor and directly from them without time integration. There is no drift problem with the integrator of wagnetic sensors. Two kinds of control experiments have been carried out： to keep the position constant and swing the position in a triangular waveform, And magnetic sensorless sensing of plasma shape is discussed.

Knowledge,attitudes and practices towards avian influenza A(h5N1) among Cambodian women:A cross-sectional study

Objective:To measure highly pathogenic avian influenza(hPAI)-related knowledge,attitudes, and practices(KAPs) among Cambodian ***:This cross-sectional study selected 246 married women aged between 18-55 years who had backyard poultry and lived at least one year in the areas of the survey through multi-stage cluster *** average score of correct answers was generated to evaluate respondents’ knowledge(Good/Poor).attitudes(Positive/ Negative),and practices(Good/Bad).Results:We reported that about half of the respondents had good knowledge and good practices and four-fifth of them had positive attitudes towards *** ratios(ORs) and 95%confidence intervals(CIs) were estimated through a logistic regression model to explore contributing factors that raise their KAP *** of the sources were significant in increasing knowledge of the respondent,like television(OR=l.6.95%CI=1.0- 2.7),radio(OR=2.5.95%CI=l.3-4.9).leaflets/booklets(OR=2.1,95%CI=1.2-3.9),school students (OR=18.4.95%CI=2.4-142.9).village health volunteers(OR=4.5.95%CI=2.2-10.9) *** such as television(OR=3.7.95%CI=2.1-6.4).leaflets/booklets(OR=2.6,95%CI7=1.4-5.1).and public health staff(OR=2.2,95%CI=1.2-4.1) had similar influence on ***,we found similar effect on raising the attitudes of the responded,it was not ***: We report a satisfactory level of positive attitudes,and moderate level of knowledge and practices related to hPAI among Cambodian *** KAPs through television,radio and other medias may be more efficient than using usual information,education and communication materials to prevent hPAI.

Pharmacokinetic study of paclitaxel in malignant ascites from advanced gastric cancer patients

AIM： To examine the paclitaxel concentrations in plasma and ascites after its intravenous administration in patients with ascites due to peritonitis carcinomatosa resulting from advanced gastric cancer. METhODS： Two patients with ascites due to peritonitis carcinomatosa resulting from gastric cancer were included in this study. The paclitaxel concentrations in plasma and ascites were investigated for 72 h in case 1 and 168 h in case 2 after intravenous administration. RESULTS： The paclitaxel concentration in plasma peaked immediately after administration, followed by rapid decrease below the threshold value of 0.1 μmol （85 ng/mL） within 24 h. In contrast, the paclitaxel concentration in ascites increased gradually for 24 h after administration to a level consistent with the level found in plasma. After 24 h the level of paclitaxel in ascites and plasma became similar, with the optimal level being maintained up to 72 h following administration. CONCLUSION： The concentration of paclitaxel in ascites is maintained within the optimal level for the treatment of cancer cells for up to 72 h after intravenous administration. Paclitaxel is a promising drug for the treatment of malignant ascites of gastric cancer.
