Overweight in mediating the association between depression and new-onset diabetes: A population-based research from health and Retirement Study

BACKGROUND Several studies have suggested a close link between depression,overweight,and new-onset diabetes,particularly among middle-aged and older populations;however,the causal associations remain poorly *** To investigate the role of overweight in mediating the association between depression and new-onset diabetes in middle-aged and older *** Data of 9426 individuals aged≥50 years from the 1998-2016 health and Retirement Study database were *** logistic regression was employed to obtain odds ratios(ORs)and 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs)for depression and new-onset diabetes in the middle-aged and older *** analysis and the Sobel test were used to test the mediating effects of overweight between depression and the risk of new-onset *** New-onset diabetes was identified in 23.6%of the study *** was significantly associated with new-onset diabetes(OR:1.18,95%CI:1.03-1.35,P value:0.014).Further adjustment for overweight attenuated the effect of depression on new-onset diabetes to 1.14(95%CI:1.00-1.30,P=0.053),with a significant mediating effect(P of Sobel test=0.003).The mediation analysis demonstrated that overweight accounted for 61%in depression for the risk of new-onset diabetes,with overweight having a partially mediating role in the depression-to-diabetes *** New-onset diabetes was not necessarily a direct complication of depression;rather,depression led to behaviors that increase the risk of overweight and,consequently,new-onset diabetes.

BACKGROUND In recent years,many studies have shown that proteasome 26S subunit non-ATPase 6(PSMD6)plays an important role in the occurrence and development of malignant ***,there are no reports on the evaluation of the potential role of PSMD6 in hepatocellular carcinoma(hCC).AIM To comprehensively evaluate the overexpression pattern and clinical significance of PSMD6 in hCC *** This study integrated PSMD6 mRNA expression profiles from 4672 hCC and 3667 non-hCC tissues,along with immunohistochemical scores from 383 hCC and adjacent tissues,to assess PSMD6 overexpression in *** regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats knockout technology evaluated PSMD6’s essential role in hCC cell *** enrichment analysis explored the molecular mechanism of PSMD6 abnormalities in *** sensitivity analysis and molecular docking analysed the effect of abnormal expression of PSMD6 on the drug sensitivity of hCC *** The results of 41 external and two internal datasets showed that PSMD6 mRNA(SMD=0.26,95%CI:0.09-0.42,PhCC *** integrated analysis results showed that PSMD6 had a significant overexpression pattern in hCC tissues(SMD=0.40,95%CI:0.15-0.66,Phibited hCC cell growth(chronos scoreshment implicated ribosome biogenesis and RNA *** enrichment of signalling pathways such as RNA degradation,ribosomes,and chemical carcinogenesis—reactive oxygen *** sensitivity analysis and a molecular docking model showed that high expression of PSMD6 was associated with the tolerance of hCC cells to drugs such as ML323,sepantronium bromide,and *** PSMD6 effectively distinguished hCC tissues(AUC=0.75,95%CI:0.71-0.79).CONCLUSION This study was the first to discover that PSMD6 was overexpressed in hCC ***6 is essential for the growth of hCC cell

Unlike traditional ridging, mulching broad ridges with a woven polypropylene fabric (WPF) can reduce soil evaporation during the drought season and avoid long saturation time in the root zone of pear trees during the rainy season. In this study, field experiments were conducted from 2017 to 2020 in a pear orchard in the North China Plain to investigate the effects of mulching broad ridges (0.3 m in height and 2 m in width) with WPF on soil temperature and moisture, nitrogen leaching, vegetative and reproductive growth of young pear trees(Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.‘Yuluxiang’). The experiments involved two treatments, namely, control (traditional no-ridge planting without mulching) and mulching broad ridges with WPF (RM treatment). The results showed that the RM treatment increased soil moisture and temperature and decreased nitrogen leaching, resulting in vigorous growth of the young pear trees. Moreover, the RM treatment increased the tree trunk cross-sectional area and height of the young pear trees by 37%and 8%in 2020, respectively. The nitrate nitrogen content at the soil layer depth of 0-30 cm was significantly higher in the RM than that in control. Furthermore, the RM treatment significantly increased the fruit yield due to larger tree size. In addition, compared with control, significantly higher fruit soluble solid content of RM treatment was detected in 2020. high precipitation (423 mm) occurred during fruit enlargement stage in 2020, RM treatment decreased the rainfall infiltration in the ridge and the soil moisture in root region, resulting in the improvement of fruit quality, compared with ***, mulching broad ridges with WPF can be implemented to increase soil moisture during drought season, soil temperature, and nitrate nitrogen content, thereby improving the growth and fruit yield of young pear trees. For spectrally negative Lévy process (SNLP), we find an expression, in terms of scale functions, for a potential measure involving the maximum and the last time of reaching the maximum up to a draw-down time. As applications, we obtain a potential measure for the reflected SNLP and recover a joint Laplace transform for the Wiener-hopf factorization for SNLP.

An envelope domain multislice behavioral modeling is introduced. The tradition AM-AM and AM- PM characteristics of power amplifiers axe extended to envelope domain and base-band filter is applied to distortion complex envelope signal for description of the envelope memory effect. Using traditional one and two-tone tests, the coefficients of nonlinear model and the FIR filter can be extracted. At last the model has been applied to a 10 W WCDMA Power amplifier to predict its output signal. And simulation results show that the model output conforms very well to the traditional transistor level simulation results.

Audio mixing is a crucial part of music *** analyzing or recreating audio mixing,it is of great importance to conduct research on estimating mixing parameters used to create mixdowns from music recordings,i.e.,audio mixing ***,approaches of audio mixing inversion are rarely explored.A method of estimating mixing parameters from raw tracks and a stereo mixdown via embodied self-supervised learning is *** this work,several commonly used audio effects including gain,pan,equalization,reverb,and compression,are taken into *** method is able to learn an inference neural network that takes a stereo mixdown and the raw audio sources as input and estimate mixing parameters used to create the mixdown by iteratively sampling and *** the sampling step,the inference network predicts a set of mixing parameters,which is sampled and fed to an audio-processing framework to generate audio data for the training *** the training step,the same network used in the sampling step is optimized with the sampled data generated from the sampling *** method is able to explicitly model the mixing process in an interpretable way instead of using a black-box neural network model.A set of objective measures are used for *** experimental results show that this method has better performance than current state-of-the-art methods.

Osmotic water alters the physicochemical properties and internal structures of *** issue is particularly critical in tunnel construction across mountainous regions with aquifers,where pressurized groundwater can destabilize the limestone-based surrounding ***,systematic research into the physicochemical properties and pore structure changes in the limestone under pressurized water is ***,it is essential to develop an interpretable mathematical model to accurately depict how pressurized osmotic water weakens *** this research,a specialized device was designed to simulate the process of osmotic laminar flow within ***,four main tests were conducted:mass loss,acoustic emission(AE),mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP),and fluorescence *** results gained from tests led to the development of a“Particle-pore throat-water film”*** model explains water-induced physicochemical and pore changes in limestone under osmotic pressure and reveals evolutionary mechanisms as pressure *** on experimental results and model,we found that osmotic pressure not only alters limestone composition but also affects pore throats larger than 0.1μ***,osmotic pressure expands pore throats,enhancing pore structure uniformity,interconnectivity,and *** effects are observed at a threshold of 7.5 MPa,where cohesive forces within the mineral lattice are surpassed,leading to the breakdown of erosion-resistant layer and a significant increase in hydrochemical erosion.

Understanding the effectiveness of cabin air filters is important for assessing human exposure to ultra- fine particles （UFPs） of vehicular origin. The filtration efficiency of vehicular UFPs with electric charges was investigated for different electric charge characteristics （charge state, charge polarity）. The average filtration efficiency increased ~10% as the electric charge state on the particles changed in distribution from lightly charged to highly charged. The enhancement of filtration efficiency due to electric charge was different at various filter-face air velocities. As electric charges increased, the filtration efficiency increased 12% and 9% at low air velocity （0.1 m/s） and high air velocity （0.S m/s）, respectively. The filter fiber material poses somewhat effect on the filtration efficiency change due to the electric charge. The effects of filter usage and charge polarity on filtration efficiency due to the electric charge were negligi- ble. A coefficient was empirically derived and successfully accounts for the electric charge effect on UFP filtratinn efficiency.
