Evaluation of Serum Soluble CD27 and CXCL10 Levels in Patients With Vitiligo:A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective:Vitiligo is a relatively common skin disfiguring disorder that exhibits a fluctuating course between activity and stability,making monitoring and management *** plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of *** autoimmune disorders have been associated with both CD27 and chemokine(C-X-C motif)ligand 10(CXCL10).however,trials evaluating their role in vitiligo are lacking in the Egyptian *** evaluated the circulating levels of these 2 biomarkers in patients with vitiligo and the possible correlation between their levels and disease ***:This cross-sectional study included 70 patients with vitiligo and 20 healthy *** patients were clinically assessed and then divided into active and stable groups according to clinical signs of activity and Vitiligo Disease Activity *** levels of CD27 and CXCL10 in the serum were assessed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in both the patients and the controls,then the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to analyze the difference between the ***:Active and stable vitiligo patients have significantly higher median serum CXCL10(385.9 and 245.2 pg/mL)and CD27(61.6 and 66.5 ng/mL)levels compared to the controls(193 pg/mL and 52.5 ng/mL,respectively,all Phough CXCL10 levels significantly increased with disease activity(Phe 2 subgroups(P=0.953).CXCL10 positively correlated with disease activity(r=0.887,Phad a higher sensitivity and a lower specificity(95.7%and 60.0%,respectively)compared to CD27(71.4%and 75%,respectively)for differentiating cases from ***:There is a possibility that CXCL10 and CD27 are involved in the development and course of vitiligo.

Deep learning(DL),which includes deep reinforcement learning(DRL),holds great promise for carrying out real-world tasks that human minds seem to cope with quite *** promise is already delivering extremely impressive results in a variety of ***,while DL-enabled systems achieve excellent performance,they are far from *** has been demonstrated,in several domains,that DL systems can err when they encounter cases they had not hitherto ***,the opacity of the produced agents makes it difficult to explain their behavior and ensure that they adhere to various requirements posed by human *** the other end of the software development spectrum of methods,behavioral programming(BP) facilitates orderly system development using self-standing executable modules aligned with how humans intuitively describe desired system *** this paper,we elaborate on different approaches for combining DRL with BP and,more generally,machine learning(ML) with executable specifications(ES).We begin by defining a framework for studying the various approaches,which can also be used to study new emerging approaches not covered *** then briefly review state-of-the-art approaches to integrating ML with ES,continue with a focus on DRL,and then present the merits of integrating ML with *** conclude with guidelines on how this categorization can be used in decision making in system development,and outline future research challenges.

Mixtures of active self-propelled and passive colloidal particles promise rich assembly and dynamic states that are beyond reach via equilibrium ***,controllable transition between different dynamic states remains ***,we reveal a plethora of dynamic behaviors emerging in assemblies of chemically propelled snowman-like active colloids and passive spherical particles as the particle shape,size,and composition are *** example,assembles of one or more active colloids with one passive particle exhibit distinct translating or orbiting states while those composed of one active colloid with 2 passive particles display persistent“8”-like cyclic motion or hopping between circling states around one passive particle in the plane and around the waist of 2 passive ones out of the plane,controlled by the shape of the active colloid and the size of the passive particles,*** morphology-tailored dynamic transitions are in excellent agreement with state diagrams predicted by mesoscale dynamics *** work discloses new dynamic states and corresponding transition strategies,which promise new applications of active systems such as micromachines with functions that are otherwise impossible.

Data-Driven Direct Adaptive Risk-Sensitive Control of Stochastic Systems

The authors propose a data-driven direct adaptive control law based on the adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) algorithm for continuous-time stochastic linear systems with partially unknown system dynamics and infinite horizon quadratic risk-sensitive *** authors use online data of the system to iteratively solve the generalized algebraic Riccati equation(GARE) and to learn the optimal control law *** the case with measurable system noises,the authors show that the adaptive control law approximates the optimal control law as time goes *** the case with unmeasurable system noises,the authors use the least-square solution calculated only from the measurable data instead of the real solution of the regression equation to iteratively solve the *** authors also study the influences of the intensity of the system noises,the intensity of the exploration noises,the initial iterative matrix,and the sampling period on the convergence of the ADP ***,the authors present two numerical simulation examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Realgar-indigo naturalis formula for the treatment of patients with relapsed and arsenic trioxide-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia:A case series

Introduction: There is currently no standard treatment for relapsed and arsenic trioxide(ATO)-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL). here, we report a case series of realgar-indigo naturalis formula(RIF) for the successful treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant *** presentation: Two patients in the first relapse and one in the second relapse failed to achieve hematologic complete remission(hCR) when reinduced by ATO; the other five patients progressed to relapse during ATO-based regimens for post-remission therapy. These eight patients received RIF in three doses per day totaling 130 mg/kg(≤ 30 pills) as induction therapy and achieved hCR at a median time of46.5 days. They received 5 years of post-remission therapy, which consisted of combined chemotherapy followed by RIF. During this period, the patients did not experience renal dysfunction or QT interval prolongation. At the last follow-up, three patients survived without relapse, two patients survived with a second or third relapse and third or fourth remission, and the other three patients relapsed for a third or fourth time and died. The 5-year overall survival and event-free survival rates were 75.0%(95% confidence interval [CI]: 31.5–93.1) and 37.5%(95% CI: 5.6–71.7), ***: RIF for induction therapy and RIF combined with chemotherapy for post-remission therapy may represent an effective and safe protocol for the treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant APL.

The present work investigates higher order stress,strain and deformation analyses of a shear deformable doubly curved shell manufactures by a Copper(Cu)core reinforced with graphene origami auxetic metamaterial subjected to mechanical and thermal *** effective material properties of the graphene origami auxetic reinforced Cu matrix are developed using micromechanical models cooperate both material properties of graphene and Cu in terms of temperature,volume fraction and folding *** principle of virtual work is used to derive governing equations with accounting thermal *** numerical results are analytically obtained using Navier's technique to investigate impact of significant parameters such as thermal loading,graphene amount,folding degree and directional coordinate on the stress,strain and deformation responses of the *** graphene origami materials may be used in aerospace vehicles and structures and defence technology because of their low weight and high stiffness.A verification study is presented for approving the formulation,solution methodology and numerical results.

An indicator model for assessing community resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic and its validation: A case study in hong Kong

The COVID-19 outbreak had a significant negative impact on the world,and the fifth wave of COVID-19 in hong Kong brought a considerable shock to Chinese *** is a growing call for more resilient ***,empirical evidence and validation of modeling studies of resilience indicators for urban community responses to the COVID-19 pandemic still need to be *** this study,a resilience assessment indicator model comprising 4 subsystems,7 indicators,and 12 variables was developed to assess the resilience of hong Kong communities in response to COVID-19(i.e.,Resilience Index).Furthermore,this study utilized regression models such as geographically weighted regression(GWR)and multiscale GWR(MGWR)to validate the resilience model proposed in this study at the model and variable *** the regression model,the Resilience Index and the individual variables in the resilience model are explanatory variables,and the outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic(confirmed cases,confirmation rate,discharged cases,discharge rate)are dependent *** results showed that:(i)the resilience of hong Kong communities to the COvID-19 pandemic was not strong in general and showed some clustered spatial distribution characteristics;(i)the validation results at the model level showed that the Resilience Index did not explain the consequences of the COvID-19 pandemic to a high degree;(ii)the validation results at the variable level showed that the MGWR model was the best at identifying the relationships between explanatory variables and the dependent variable;and(iv)compared with the model-level assessment results,the variable-level assessment explained the consequences of the COvID-19 pandemic better than the model level assessment *** above analysis and the spatial distribution maps of the resilience variables can provide empirically based and targeted insights for policymakers.

Tailoring microenvironment for efficient CO_(2)electroreduction through.nanoconfinement strategy

The electrocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)to produce fuels and chemicals holds great promise,not only to provide an alternative to fossil feedstocks,but also to use renewable electricity to convert and recycle the greenhouse gas CO_(2)to mitigate climate ***,the selectivity and reaction rates for the conversion of CO_(2)into desirable carbon-based products,especially multicarbon products with high added value,are still insufficient for commercial applications,which is attributed to insufficiently favourable microenvironmental conditions in the vicinity of the *** construction of catalysts/electrodes with confined structures can effectively improve the reaction microenvironment in the vicinity of the electrodes and thus effectively direct the reaction towards the desired *** this review,we firstly introduce the effects of the microenvironment at the electrode-electrolyte interface including local ph,local intermediate concentration,and local cation concentration on CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)as well as the mechanism of action,and then shed light on the microenvironmental modulation within the confined space,and finally and most importantly,introduce the design strategy of CO_(2)RR catalyst/electrode based on the confinement effect.
