Epithelial cell proliferation and glandular atrophy in lymphocytic gastritis: Effect of h pylori treatment

AIm: Lymphocytic gastritis is commonly ass ociated with helicobacter pylori infection. The presence of glandular atrophy and foveolar hyperplasia in lymphocytic gastritis suggests abnormalities in cell proliferation and differentiation,forming a potential link with the suspected association with gastric cancer. Our aim was to compare epithelial cell proliferation and morphology in h pylori associated lymphocytic gastritis and h pylori gastritis without features of lymphocytic gastritis,and to evaluate the effect of h pylori ***: We studied 14 lymphocytic gastritis patients with h pylori infection. For controls, we selected 14 matched dyspeptic patients participating in another treatment trial whose h pylori infection had successfully been *** groups were treated with a triple therapy and followed up with biopsies for 6-18 months (patients) or 3 months (controls). Blinded evaluation for histopathological features was carried out. To determine the cell proliferation index,the sections were labeled with Ki-67 ***: Before treatment, lymphocytic gastritis was characterized by foveolar hyperplasia (P=0.001) and glandular atrophy in the body (P=0.008), and increased proliferation in both the body (P=0.001) and antrum (P=0.002). Proliferation correlated with foveolar hyperplasia and inflammation activity. After eradication therapy, the number of intraepithelial lymphocytes decreased in the body (P=0.004)and antrum (P=0.065), remaining higher than in controls (P＜0.001). Simultaneously, the proliferation index decreased in the body from 0.38 to 0.15 (P=0.043), and in the antrum from 0.34 to 0.20 (P=0.069), the antral index still being higher in lymphocytic gastritis than in controls (P=0.010).Foveolar hyperplasia and glandular atrophy in the body improved (P=0.021), reaching the non-LG ***: In lymphocytic gastritis, excessive epithelial cell proliferation is predominantly present in the body, where it associates with foveola

Nitriding of aluminium alloy （***0.8） in nitrogen and nitrogen-helium mixture was carried out by using 100 hz-pulsed DC glow discharge. Samples are treated for different durations, namely 4 h, 8 h and 12 h, in nitrogen plasma as well as in a mixture of nitrogen- helium plasma for the same processing duration of 4 h. All nitriding treatments are carried out at an input power of 100 W, filling pressure of 1 mbar and substrates temperature of 250~C. X-ray diffraction （XRD） results show an expansion in lattice spacing and consequently shift of diffraction peaks towards lower angle with the addition of helium in nitrogen plasma. Surface morphology of the treated sample is investigated by scanning electron microscopy （SEm） and energy dispersive X-ray analysis （EDX）. Vickers micro-hardness testing results show increases in surface hardness with processing duration as well as with the addition of helium in nitrogen plasmas. This increase of surface hardness may be attributed to the diffusion of nitrogen content in the surface layer generating internal stresses. It is observed that the addition of helium positively affects the nitriding of samples.

The aim of this paper is two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic viscous fluid bounded by infinite sheets to examine the Dufour and Soret effects on the （mhD） steady flow of an electrically conducting An incompressible viscous fluid fills the porous space. The mathematical analysis is performed in the presence of viscous dissipation, Joule heating, and a first-order chemical reaction. With suitable transformations, the governing partial differential equations through momentum, energy, and concentration laws are transformed into ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved by the homotopy analysis method （hAm）. The convergence of the series solutions is ensured. The effects of the emerging parameters, the skin friction coefficient, the Nusselt number, and the Sherwood number are analyzed on the dimensionless velocities, temperature, and concentration fields.

AIm To review impacts of interventions involving self-management education, health coaching, and motivational interviewing for type 2 diabetes. mEThODS A thorough review of the scientific literature on diabetes care and management was executed by a research team. RESULTS This article summarizes important findings in regard to the validity of developing a comprehensive behavioral system as a framework for empirical investigation. The behavioral system framework consists of patients' knowledge(K), motivation(m), attitude(A), and practice(P) as predictor variables for diabetes care outcomes(O). Care management strategies or health education programs serve as the intervention variable that directly influences K, m, A, and P and then indirectly affects the variability in patient care outcomes of patients with type 2 diabetes. CONCLUSION This review contributes to the understanding of the KmAP-O framework and how it can guide the care management of patients with type 2 diabetes. It will allow the tailoring of interventions to be more effective through knowledge enhancement, increased motivation, attitudinal changes, and improved preventive practice to reduce the progression of type 2 diabetes and comorbidities. Furthermore, the use of health information technology for enhancing changes in KmAP and communications is advocated in health promotion and development.

Turbulence kinetic energies in confined vortex flows have been studied. The studies were based on the experiments performed in a vortex chamber. In the experiments, a Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) was used to perform flow measurements inside the vortex chamber, which provided the data for the kinetic energy analysis. The studies concentrated on the influences of the contraction ratio and the inlet air flow rate on the kinetic energy, and analyzed the characteristics of the kinetic energy in the confined vortex flows, including the distributions of the tangential component, radial component and total turbulence kinetic energy. In the paper, both the experimental techniques and the experimental results were presented. Based on a similarity analysis and the experimental data, an empirical scaling formula was proposed so that the tangential component of the turbulence kinetic energy was dependent only on the parameter of the contraction ratio.

Purpose: The incidence of both symptomatic thoraco-lumbar junction disc herniation (TLJDh) and tight filum (TF) may be underestimated. Both conditions have a complex clinical presentation that may involve the distal spinal cord, conus medullaris, and/or cauda equina, including upper and/or lower motor neuron impairment, sensory impairment, urological and sexual dysfunction. The coexistence of both conditions has not been previously reported and may be a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. methods: We report three teenage girls, a 24-year-old woman, and two middle-aged women who were diagnosed with both conditions and treated at our institution. Results: Disc herniation level was T11-T12 in 2, T12-L1 in 3, and L1-L2 in one. All patients had a fatty filum (n = 5) and/or a low-lying Cm (at or above L1-L2 in 2, at or below L2-L3 in 4), and were treated with filum sectioning first. All patients noted marked improvement of preoperative complaints including back pain (n = 5), leg pain and fatigue (n = 4), urological complaints (n = 4), and toe gait (n = 1). One 16-year-old girl successfully underwent a thoracoscopic microdiscectomy for persisting pain at the thoraco-lumbar junction two years after filum sectioning. Conclusions: Thoraco-lumbar junction disc herniation and tight filum both act on the distal spinal cord close to the transition to the cauda equina. Both conditions may coincide and may even act synergistically, the disc herniation acting as a fulcrum, aggravating the deleterious effect of the tethering force (and vice versa). This might explain why both conditions combined may present at a younger age. We suggest filum sectioning as the primary treatment option in all patients, however, more cases and a longer follow-up are needed to better understand their unique combination and interaction. This study deals with the seismic fragility of elastic structural systems equipped with single concave sliding（friction pendulum system（FPS）） isolators considering different soil conditions. The behavior of these systems is analyzed by employing a two-degree-of-freedom model, whereas the FPS response is described by means of a velocity-dependent model. The uncertainty in the seismic inputs is taken into account by considering artificial seismic excitations modelled as timemodulated filtered Gaussian white noise random processes of different intensity within the power spectral density method. In particular, the filter parameters, which control the frequency content of the random excitations, are calibrated to describe stiff, medium and soft soil conditions. The sliding friction coefficient at large velocity is also considered as a random variable modelled through a uniform probability density function. Incremental dynamic analyses are developed in order to evaluate the probabilities of exceeding different limit states related to both the reinforced concrete（RC） superstructure and isolation level, defining the seismic fragility curves within an extensive parametric study carried out for different structural system properties and soil conditions. The abovementioned seismic fragility curves are useful to evaluate the seismic reliability of base-isolated elastic systems equipped with FPS and located in any site for any soil condition.
