Estimated Breeding Value in Iranian Buffaloes

This study was conducted from 1992-2002 on 65,534 individual milk records and fat percentage in 473 herds, in six provinces of Khuzestan, mazndaran, W. Azerbaijan, E. Azerbaijan, Ardabil and Gilan. The data was analyzed by SAS software using GLm procedure. The heritability and breeding value of 1,195 animals were calculated by DFRmL procedure. The average milk yield per lactation, days of lactation, fat percentage and LSm of fat percentage were 1,513 kg, 202 days, 5.04 and 6.77, respectively. The estimated heritability of milk was 0.16. The LSm of average milk production in the provinces of Gilan, mazandaran, E. Azerbaijan, W. Azerbaijan, Khuzestan and Ardabil were: 1,452, 1,586, 1,382, 1,183, 2,135 and 1,189 kg, respectively. These results indicated that Khuzestan province has the highest potential in the field of milk production. The top five highest breeding value bulls have been introduced to artificial insemination’s station in the city of Uremia.

Online dynamic measurement of saturation-capillary pressure relation in sandy medium under water level fluctuation

An online dynamic method based on electrical conductivity probe, tensiometer and datataker was presented to measure saturation-capillary pressure (S-p) relation in water-light nonaqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) two-phase sandy medium under water level fluctuation. Three-electrode electrical conductivity probe (ECP) was used to measure water saturation. hydrophobic tensiometer was obtained by spraying waterproof material to the ceramic cup of commercially available hydrophilic tensiometer. A couple of hydrophilic tensiometer and hydrophobic tensiometer were used to measure pore water pressure and pore LNAPL pressure of the sandy medium, respectively. All the signals from ECP and tensiometer were collected by a data taker connected with a computer. The results show that this method can finish the measurement of S-p relation of a complete drainage or imbibition process in less than 60 min. It is much more timesaving compared with 10-40 d of traditional methods. Two cycles of water level fluctuation were produced, and four saturation-capillary pressure relations including two stable residual LNAPL saturations of the sandy medium were obtained during in 350 h. The results show that this method has a good durable performance and feasibility in the porous medium with complicated multiphase flow. Although further studies are needed on the signal stability and accuracy drift of the ECP, this online dynamic method can be used successfully in the rapid characterization of a LNAPL migration in porous media.

In continuation of research to explore the applied potential of DmF-like ionic liquid, the ionic liquid version of N,N-dimethyliminiumchloride （Vilsmier reagent） has been synthesized from DmF-like ionic liquid and tested effectively for its capacity to achieve more useful organic transformations. The results show that DmF-like ionic liquid is world＇s first task specific ionic liquid which has catalyzed numerous diverse type of reaction and is multipurpose in its application. Thus a new term for this DmF-like ionic liquid has been coined that is DmF-like ＂multipurpose＂ ionic liquid.

This paper presents the numerical simulations of two Richtmyer-meshkov （Rm） instability experiments using the conservative front-tracking method developed in （mao, D. Towards front-tracking based on conservation in two space dimensions II, tracking discontinuities in capturing fashion. J. Comput. Phys., 226, 1550-1588 （2007））. The numerical results are compared with those obtained in （holmes, R. L., Grove, J. W., and Sharp, D. h. Numerical investigation of Richtmyer-meshkov instability using front-tracking. J. Fluid mech., 301, 51-64 （1995））. The present simulations are generally in good agreement with those obtained by holmes et al., and also capture the nonlinear and compessive phenomenon, i.e., the self-interactions of the transmitted and reflected wave edges, which was pointed out by holmes et al. as the cause of the deceleration of the interfaces. however, the perturbation amplitudes and the amplitude growth rates of the interfaces obtained with the present conservative front-tracking method are a bit larger than those obtained by holmes et al.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) is increasing utilized in the setting of liver transplantation for a number of post-operative related biliary issues. Although ERCP represents an excellent technology, it is not without attendant risk including sepsis, bleeding and perforation. In this case report, the first of its kind, is described the occurrence of a migrated biliary stent induced duodenal-colic fistula formation in a liver transplantation patient who had required dual biliary stenting given post-operative biliary structuring. The placement of dual stents and their size are likely implicated in the cause of perforation. The enteric anatomy and the medical immunosuppression likely contributed to a delay in diagnosis and worse outcome.

In this study, novel nickel oxide (NiO) flowers like nanostructures were fabricated onto gold coated glass substrate by hydrothermal method using high alkaline ph medium. The structural study of nickel oxide nanostructures was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEm) and X-ray differaction (XRD) techniques. Nickel oxide nanostructures are highly dense, uniform and possess good crystalline quality. The so prepared structures were investigated for their electrochemical properties by cyclic voltammetry and amperometric techniques. The nickel oxide flower like morphology has shown good electrochemical performances for the oxidation of glucose. The presented sensing material was able to detected glucose in a wide range of concentration of 0.001 mm to 8 mm with a high sensitivity (123 μmA/mm) and regression coefficient of 0.99. moreover, the NiO nanostructures based sensor is highly reproducible, stable, exhibiting a fast response time and selective in the response. All the obtained results indicate the potential use of this material in the development of enzyme free sensors for the detection of glucose.
