Traumatic mitral chordae rupture is a rare and known cause of acute mitral valve regurgitation and de novo heart *** pathologies in a trauma patient may mask the findings of de novo heart failure due to mitral chordae *** patients may also have other potential pre-diagnoses that could explain symptoms related to heart failure,such as tachycardia,circulatory shock,and acute *** possibility of traumatic chordae tendinea rupture being a preventable cause of mortality should be carefully evaluated.

Advances in laser spectroscopy have enabled many scientific breakthroughs in physics,chemistry,biology,and *** frequency combs pushed measurement limits with ultrahigh-frequency accuracy and fast-measurement speed,while tunable-diode-laser spectroscopy is used in scenarios that require high power and continuous spectral *** these advantages of tunable-diode-laser spectroscopy,it is challenging to precisely determine the instantaneous laser frequency because of fluctuations in the scan ***,we demonstrate a simple spectroscopy scheme with a frequencymodulated diode laser that references the laser on-the-fly to a fiber *** fiber cavity's free spectral range is on-the-fly calibrated with sub-10-hz frequency *** achieve a relative precision of the laser frequency of 2×10^(-8)for an 11-Thz frequency range at a measurement speed of 1 Thz∕*** is an improvement of more than 2 orders of magnitude compared to existing diode-laser-spectroscopy *** scheme provides precise frequency calibration markers,while simultaneously tracking the instantaneous scan speed of the *** demonstrate the versatility of our method through various applications,including dispersion measurement of a fiber,ultrahigh-Q microresonators,and spectroscopy of a hydrogen fluoride gas *** simplicity,robustness,and low cost of this spectroscopy scheme are valuable for out-of-the-lab applications like lidar and environmental monitoring.

A scalable strategy for the convenient and rapid preparation of nitrogen-doped carbon-coated iron-based alloy catalysts was *** controlling the type and amount of metal salts in the precursor,various types of nitrogen-doped carbon-coated alloy catalysts can be prepared in a targeted ***_(2)Ni2@CN materials with small particle sizes and relatively homogeneous basic sites showed promising results in the N-alkylation reaction of benzyl alcohol with aniline(optimum yield:99%).It is worth noting that the catalyst can also be magnetically separated and recovered after the reaction,and its performance can be regenerated through simple ***,it was confirmed by kinetic experiments that the activation of C–h at the benzyl alcohol benzylic position is the rate-determining step(RDS).According to density flooding theory calculations,Fe_(2)Ni2@CN catalysts require less energy than other materials(Fe@CN and Ni@CN)for the RDS(dehydrogenation reaction)*** N-alkylation reactions are more easily carried out on Fe_(2)Ni2@CN catalysts,which may be the reason for the best catalytic activity of Fe-Ni alloy *** carbon-coated alloy materials will show great potential in more types of heterogeneous catalysis.

Manipulating Nb-doped SrFeO_(3−δ)with excellent performance for proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells

Nb-doped SrFeO_(3−δ)(SFO)is used as a cathode in proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells(h-SOFCs).First-principles calculations show that the SrFe0.9Nb0.1O_(3−δ)(SFNO)cathode has a lower energy barrier in the cathode reaction for h-SOFCs than the Nb-free SrFeO_(3−δ)*** experimental studies show that Nb doping substantially enhances the performance of the SrFeO_(3−δ)***,oxygen vacancies(VO)were introduced into SFNO using the microwave sintering method,further improving the performance of the SFNO *** mechanism behind the performance improvement owing to VO was revealed using first-principles calculations,with further optimization of the SFNO cathode achieved by developing a suitable wet chemical synthesis route to prepare nanosized SFNO *** method significantly reduces the grain size of SFNO compared with the conventional solid-state reaction method,although the solid-state reaction method is generally used for preparing Nb-containing *** a result of defect engineering and synthesis approaches,the SFNO cathode achieved an attractive fuel cell performance,attaining an output of 1764 mW·cm−2 at 700℃ and operating for more than 200 *** manipulation of Nb-doped SrFeO_(3−δ)can be seen as a“one stone,two birds”strategy,enhancing cathode performance while retaining good stability,thus providing an interesting approach for constructing high-performance cathodes for h-SOFCs.

The interactions between lignin oligomers and solvents determine the behaviors of lignin oligomers self-assembling into uniform lignin nanoparticles(LNPs).herein,several alcohol solvents,which readily interact with the lignin oligomers,were adopted to study their effects during solvent shifting process for LNPs’*** lignin oligomers with widely distributed molecular weight and abundant guaiacyl units were extracted from wood waste(mainly consists of pine wood),exerting outstanding self-assembly *** and spherical LNPs were generated in h_(2)O-n-propanol cosolvent,whereas irregular LNPs were obtained in h_(2)O-methanol *** unsatisfactory self-assembly performance of the lignin oligomers in h_(2)O-methanol cosolvent could be attributed to two *** one hand,for the initial dissolution state,the distinguishing hansen solubility parameter and polarity between methanol solvent and lignin oligomers resulted in the poor dispersion of the lignin *** the other hand,strong hydrogen bonds between methanol solvent and lignin oligomers during solvent shifting process,hindered the interactions among the lignin oligomers for self-assembly.

Mediated electron transfer process in α-MnO_(2)catalyzed Fenton-like reaction for oxytetracycline degradation

In Fenton-like oxidation,the catalyst directly influences the reaction mechanism for the degradation of pollutants from ***,a α-MnO_(2)catalyst(OAm-1)was synthesized via a self-assembly method with the assistance of a ***-1 possessed a large specific surface area of_(2)21 m2/g,abundant mesoporous structures and a large proportion of Mn(III).Further characterization exhibited that OAm-1 had abundant oxygen vacancies and excellent reducibility and *** adsorption and catalytic ability of OAm-1 were studied in the degradation of oxytetracycline(OTC)via the activation of hydrogen peroxide(h_(2)O_(2)).Through the radical quenching experiments,electron resonance spectroscopy(EPR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)analysis,Mn(III)of OAm-1 was proved to be the active sites for the chemisorption of *** electrochemical ex-periments and analysis have shown that a process of electron transfer mediated by OAm-1 occurred be-tween the pollutant and h_(2)O_(2)during a Fenton-like *** work experimentally verifies the elec-tron transfer process dominated nonradical mechanism overα-MnO_(2),which is helpful for understanding the catalytic mechanism of the Fenton-like oxidation.
