Brominated-chlorinated paraffins(Br-CPs)are a comparably new compound class that features both Cl and Br atoms on one or several alkane *** to legal restrictions in the use of conventional chlorinated paraffins(CPs),Br-CPs have the potential to become emerging ***,their determination is hampered by the lack of suitable reference ***,we present a simple synthesis procedure with single chain alkanes that leads to Br-CPs with∼4–8 chlorine and 1 to 4 bromine substituents according to gas chromatography with electron capture negative ion mass spectrometry(GC/ECNI-MS).The single-chain Br-CP mixtures were obtained by the shared chlorination and bromination of eight single-chain alkanes(C10 to C17)at two reaction times,*** carbon content of the 16 single-chain Br-CP products,determined by elemental analysis(EA),ranged from 30.8 to 43.8%.The typical hump peak known from CPs was detected with GC with flame ionization detection(GC/FID),electron capture detection(GC/ECD)and GC/*** complexity indicated that low-resolution mass spectrometry is not sufficient for an adequate analysis of Br-CPs.A mathematical formula was developed which allows to calculate all possible combinations of Br and Cl that are in line with the carbon *** proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1h NMR)spectra showed similarities to the ones of CPs with one chemical shift range for protons on nonhalogenated carbons and one for protons with one halogen on the same carbon.

The Sb^(3+) doping strategy has been proven to be an effective way to regulate the band gap and improve the photophysical properties of organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides(OIhMhs).however,the emission of Sb^(3+) ions in OIhMhs is primarily confined to the low energy region,resulting in yellow or red *** date,there are few reports about green emission of Sb^(3+)-doped ***,we present a novel approach for regulating the luminescence of Sb^(3+) ions in 0D C_(10)h_(2)_(2)N_(6)InCl_(7)·h_(2)O via hydrogen bond network,in which water molecules act as agents for hydrogen ***^(3+)-doped C_(10)h_(2)2N_(6)InCl_(7)·h_(2)O shows a broadband green emission peaking at 540 nm and a high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 80%.It is found that the intense green emission stems from the radiative recombination of the self-trapped excitons(STEs).Upon removal of water molecules with heat,C_(10)h_(2)_(2)N_(6)In_(1-x)Sb_(x)Cl_(7) generates yellow emis-sion,attributed to the breaking of the hydrogen bond network and large structural distortions of excited *** water molecules are adsorbed by C_(10)h_(2)_(2)N_(6)In_(1-x)Sb_(x)Cl_(7),it can subsequently emit green *** water-induced reversible emission switching is successfully used for optical security and information *** findings expand the under-standing of how the local coordination structure influences the photophysical mechanism in Sb^(3+)-doped metal halides and provide a novel method to control the STEs emission.

Light-driven nitrogen fixation to produce ammonia is a green and economical technology of nitrogen reduction but is still quite challenging, especially in an air atmosphere without any sacrificial ***, we demonstrate efficient photocatalytic nitrogen fixation using water and air directly by loading lanthanide–transition metal(4f–3d) cluster NdCo_(3) on two-dimensional P-doped graphitic carbon nitrides(PCN) material surface. Benefiting from the increase in the number of nitrogen vacancies(NVs) and highly matched band gap structure and excellent hole trapping ability of clusters, the NdCo_(3)/PCN photocatalyst exhibits efficient nitrogen reduction activity with 371(in air) and 825 μmol h^(-1)g^(-1)(in pure nitrogen)without any sacrificial reagents. The introduction of potassium sulfate inhibits hydrogen production and promotes nitrogen reduction activation. This work suggests that anchoring precisely structured clusters on 2D materials may enhance photocatalytic nitrogen reduction under normal temperature and pressure.

A novel diurnal and seasonal variation analysis of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

In the urban atmosphere of Bengaluru, various volatile organic compounds(VOCs), particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have shown an increasing trend in concentration. The present research was conducted during summer and monsoon seasons, focusing on Kadubeesanahalli, a high-traffic area within the Bengaluru Metropolitan City. hourly sample data was collected using a BTEX analyzer(Model GC955-600) and subsequently transformed into daily, monthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in benzene concentrations. Benzene levels were lowest during the early morning hours, specifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations then increased from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. however, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal variations in benzene concentration are influenced by meteorological parameters. Comparing the two seasons, higher concentrations of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and MP-xylene were observed during the summer season. This increase is attributed to the elevated temperatures during summer, which promote the vaporization of BTEX compounds. Conversely, lower BTEX concentrations were recorded during the monsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The observed positive correlation(r > 0.5) among BTEX parameters strongly suggests a common source, most likely originating from vehicular emissions.

Groundwater vulnerability assessment is a crucial step in the efficient management of groundwater resources,especially in areas with intensive anthropogenic activities and groundwater *** the present study,the DRASTIC method was applied using Geographic Information System(GIS)to delineate groundwater vulnerability zones in the Erbil Dumpsite area,Central Erbil Basin,North *** showed that the area was classified into four vulnerability classes:Very low(16.97%),low(27.67%),moderate(36.55%)and high(18.81%).The southern,south-eastern and northern parts of the study area exhibited the highest vulnerability potential,while the central-northern,northern and north-western regions displayed the lowest vulnerability ***,results of the single-parameter sensitivity analysis indicated that amongst the seven DRASTIC parameters,the unsaturated zone and the aquifer media were the most influencing *** conclustion,the correlation of 25 nitrate concentration values with the final vulnerability map,assessed using the Pearson correlation coefficient,yielded a satisfactory result of R=0.72.
