Uncovering the hierarchical clusters in the heat-affected zone of an electron beam weldedα/βtitanium alloy joint

Using high-resolution transmission Kikuchi diffraction(TKD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEm),we examined the hierarchical clusters that form in situ in the heat-affected zone(hAZ),which are com-monly referred to as“ghost”structures,of bimodal titanium alloy Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4mo-4Cr(wt%,TC17).The ghost structures are enriched with Al elements but poor in mo and Cr compared to the surroundingβ*** results show that the ghost structure in middle-hAZ mainly consists ofα_(L)laths with a high-angle grain boundary,which exhibits the classic Burgers orientation relationship(BOR)with the host matrix,while it encircles theα_(P)grains in *** the ghost structure is evidenced to form via in-complete martensitic *** results further confirm that the ghost structure is composed ofαL and tinyβ_(L)laths with BOR,with the former being enriched with Al and poor with Cr and mo,while the latter is the ***,twoα_(L)variant clusters with a check-mark morphology are fre-quently observed viewed along[0001]_(αL)//[110]_(βL)directions,which are dominated by the crystallographic and geometrical relationships betweenαandβ*** on the microstructural characterization,it is hypothesized that the ghost structure is transformed from the initialα_(P)phase,due to the coupling ef-fect of high thermal stress(which induces the formation of a large number of dislocations)and element diffusion caused by sudden temperature increase and plunge cooling in the hAZ during the welding pro-cess.

The Connected Sensor Problem(CSP)presents a prevalent challenge in the realms of communication and Internet of Things(IoT)*** primary aim is to maximize the coverage of users while maintaining connectivity among K *** the challenge of managing a large user base alongside a finite number of candidate locations,this paper proposes an extension to the CSP:the h-hop independently submodular maximization problem characterized by curvatureα.We have developed an approximation algorithm that achieves a ratio of 1−e−α/(2h+3)α.The efficacy of this algorithm is demonstrated on the CSP,where it shows superior performance over existing algorithms,marked by an average enhancement of 8.4%.

In situ TEm investigation of electron irradiation and aging-induced high-density nanoprecipitates in an mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr alloy

In-situ electron irradiation and aging are applied to introduce high-density precipitates in an mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)alloy to improve the *** results show that the hardness of the mg alloy after irradiation for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approximately 64% higher than that of the samples before being *** is mainly attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal plane after irradiation and the high-density nanoscale β'precipitates on the prismatic plane after aging,which should be closely related to the irradiation-induced homogenous *** latter plays a key role in precipitation *** result paves a way to improve the mechanical properties of metallic materials by tailoring the precipitation through irradiation and aging.

mg-based amorphous alloys are one of the potential hydrogen storage materials but suffer from sluggish dehydrogenation/hydrogenation(de/hydrogenation)*** this work,as a new strategy,a hydrogen pump is built on the surface of amorphous alloys to solve this *** milling crystalline YFe_(2-x)Al_(x) hydrogen storage alloy with mg_(60)La_(10)Ni_(20)Cu_(10) amorphous alloy,fine crystalline particles were seeded on amorphous alloy powder to form a“strawberry”*** to the TEm observation,a metallurgical bonding boundary formed between the mg-based amorphous matrix and the Y-Fe-Al crystalline *** microstructure and de/hydrogenation kinetics investigation,the“hydrogen pump”effect of the seeded crystalline alloy was confirmed,which makes it much easier for the hydrogen to dissociate on and diffuse through the surface of the mg-based amorphous *** such effect,the h absorption rate of mg_(60)La_(10)Ni_(20)Cu_(10) amorphous alloy became almost eight times faster and it absorbs ~2.8 wt.% in 1 h at 130℃ under 4.5 mPa-h_(2).Further,fast hydrogenation can even achieve at 70℃ and the low-temperature dehydrogenation kinetics of the amorphous hydride can be also greatly *** present work proves that surface modification is of great importance for obtaining mg-based amorphous alloy with ideal hydrogen storage performance.

Effects of dietary Clostridium butyricum and rumen protected fat on meat quality,oxidative stability,and chemical composition of finishing goats

Background Clostridium butyricum(CB)is a probiotic that can regulate intestinal microbial composition and improve meat *** protected fat(RPF)has been shown to increase the dietary energy density and provide essential fatty ***,it is still unknown whether dietary supplementation with CB and RPF exerts beneficial effects on growth performance and nutritional value of goat *** study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary CB and RPF supplementation on growth performance,meat quality,oxidative stability,and meat nutritional value of finishing ***-two goats(initial body weight,20.5±0.82 kg)were used in a completely randomized block design with a 2 RPF supplementation(0 vs.30 g/d)×2 CB supplementation(0 vs.1.0 g/d)factorial treatment *** experiment included a 14-d adaptation and 70-d data and sample collection *** goats were fed a diet consisted of 400 g/kg peanut seedling and 600 g/kg corn-based concentrate(dry matter basis).Result Interaction between CB and RPF was rarely observed on the variables measured,except that shear force was reduced(Pheir combination;the increased intramuscular fat(ImF)content with adding RPF was more pronounced(Ph CB than without CB *** ph24h(P=0.009),a*values(P=0.007),total antioxidant capacity(P=0.050),glutathione peroxidase activities(P=0.006),concentrations of 18:3(Phereas the L*values(Phear force(P=0.050)and malondialdehyde content(P=0.044)were decreased by adding ***,CB supplementation increased essential amino acid(P=0.027),flavor amino acid(P=0.010)and total amino acid contents(P=0.024)as well as upregulated the expression of lipoprotein lipase(P=0.034)and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPARγ)(P=0.012),and downregulated the expression of stearoyl-CoA desaturase(SCD)(P=0.034).The RPF supplementation increased dry

Coordination-environment regulation of atomic Co-mn dual-sites for efficient oxygen reduction reaction

Precisely designing atomic metal-nitrogen-carbon(m-N-C)catalysts with asymmetric diatomic configurations and studying their structure–activity relationships for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)are important for zinc-air batteries(ZABs).herein,a dualatomic-site catalyst(DASC)with CoN_(3)S-mnN_(2)S_(2) configuration was prepared for the cathodes of *** with Co-N-C(mn-free)and Comn-N-C(S-free doping),Comn-N/S-C exhibits excellent half-wave potential(0.883 V)and turnover frequency(1.54 e·s^(−1)·site^(−1)),surpassing most of the reported state-of-the-art Pt-free ORR *** Comn-N/S-C-based ZABs achieve extremely high specific capacity(959 mAh·g^(−1))and good stability(350 h@5 mA·cm^(−2)).Density functional theory(DFT)calculation shows that the introduction of mn and S can break the electron configuration symmetry of the original Co 3d orbital,lower the dband center of the Co site,and optimize the desorption behavior of*Oh intermediate,thereby increasing the ORR activity.

Greatly enhanced corrosion/wear resistances of epoxy coating for mg alloy through a synergistic effect between functionalized graphene and insulated blocking layer

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of mg alloys seriously limit their potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a double-layer epoxy composite coating on mg alloy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assembly *** outer layer is functionalized graphene(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can be homogeneously dispersed within the epoxy matrix to fill the intrinsic defects and improve the barrier *** Ce film connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower than that of bare mg alloy,and the wear rate is decreased by~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attributed to the labyrinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the obstruction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and blocking layer exhibits great potential in realizing the improvement of multi-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the development of novel composite protection coatings of mg alloys.

Deposition of thin TiO_(2)films on fluorophlogopite particle surface by CVD in fluidized bed reactor to prepare silver pearlescent pigments
