Comparison of the effects of acute and chronic psychological stress on metabolic features in rats

This study was aimed to compare the effects of acute and chronic psychological stress on metabolic factors. Forty-two male Wistar rats were divided into control and stressed groups. Stress was applied by a communication box acutely (1 d) and chronically (15 and 30 d). Blood sampling was carried out by retro-orbital-puncture method. The plasma levels of glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, insulin, and corticosterone were measured. in addition, feed and water intake, latency to eat and drink, adrenal and body weights were determined. Acute and chronic psychological stress did not significantly change basal plasma corticosterone levels. however, immediately (1 min) after acute exposure to stress, plasma corticosterone level increased compared to that before stress exposure. Acute stress increased plasma insulin levels significantly. Fifteen days of stress exposure resulted in plasma glucose increase. Chronic stress significantly increased feed intake, latency to eat, and adrenal weight compared to acute stress. The body weights of both control and stressed groups increased markedly during the experiment. homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (hOMA-iR) index did not change significantly in the stressed group. in conclusion, application of acute and chronic psychological stress leads to different metabolic and/or behavioral changes but the metabolic changes resulting from acute exposure to stress seem to be more pronounced.

Automatic Speaker identification(ASi)involves the process of distinguishing an audio stream associated with numerous speakers’*** common aspects,such as the framework difference,overlapping of different sound events,and the presence of various sound sources during recording,make the ASi task much more complicated and *** research proposes a deep learning model to improve the accuracy of the ASi system and reduce the model training time under limited computation *** this research,the performance of the transformer model is *** audio features,chromagram,Mel-spectrogram,tonnetz,Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients(MFCCs),delta MFCCs,delta-delta MFCCs and spectral contrast,are extracted from the ELSDSR,CSTRVCTK,and Ar-DAD,*** evaluation of various experiments demonstrates that the best performance was achieved by the proposed transformer model using seven audio features on all *** ELSDSR,CSTRVCTK,and Ar-DAD,the highest attained accuracies are 0.99,0.97,and 0.99,*** experimental results reveal that the proposed technique can achieve the best performance for ASi problems.

The wave-operator nonlinear Schrödinger equation was introduced in the ***,nonlocal space-time reverse complex field equations were also recently *** in this area were focused on employing the inverse scattering method and Darboux ***,we present an approach to find the solutions of the wave-operator nonlinear Schrödinger equation with space and time reverse(W-O-NLSE-STR).it is based on implementing the unified method together with introducing a conventional formulation of the ***,a field and a reverse field may be ***,for deriving the solutions of W-O-NLSE-STR,it is evident to distinguish two cases(when the field and its reverse are interactive or not-interactive).in the non-interactive and interactive cases,exact and approximate solutions are *** both cases,the solutions are evaluated numerically and they are displayed *** is observed that the field exhibits solitons propagating essentially(or mainly)on the negative space variable,while those of the reverse field propagate on the other side(or vice versa).These results are completely novel,and we think that it is an essential behavior that characterizes a complex field system with *** the other hand,they may exhibit right and left cable patterns(or vice versa).it is found that the solutions of the field and its reverse exhibit self-phase modulation by solitary *** the interactive case,the pulses of the field and its reverse propagate in the whole *** analysis of modulation stability shows that,when the field is stable,its reverse is unstable or both are *** holds whenever the polarization of the medium is selfdefocusing.

The topological characteristics of an iEEE 802.16 mesh network including the tree’s depth and degree of its nodes affect the delay and throughput of the *** reach the desired trade-off between delay and throughput,all potential trees should be explored to obtain a tree with the proper *** the number of extractable tree topologies from a given network graph is enormous,we use a genetic algorithm(GA) to explore the search space and find a good enough trade-off between per-node,as well as network-wide delay and *** the proposed GA approach,we use the Pruefer code tree representation followed by novel genetic ***,for each individual tree topology,we obtain expressions analytically for per-node delay and *** on the required quality of service,the obtained expressions are invoked in the computation of fitness functions for the genetic *** a proper fitness function,the proposed algorithm is able to find the intended trees while different constraints on delay and throughput of each node are *** a GA approach leads to the exploration of this extremely wide search space in a reasonably short time,which results in overall scalability and accuracy of the proposed tree exploration algorithm.

Effect of Maternal Food Restriction on the Uterus of Female Rats from the First and Second Generation

Postnatal life is affected by changes in fetal development due to adverse events. The present study examined the effect of maternal food restriction on uterine structure and capacity in female rats from the first and second generations (FR1 and FR2) before and after puberty. Pregnant rats were fed ad libitum (Control, C) or maintained under food-restriction conditions (50%FR) during pregnancy. After delivery, all groups were given free access to food. Females from the first generation (FR1) were divided into two subgroups for either uterine dissection or to produce the next generation (FR2). Similar to FR1, FR2 females were exposed to maternal food restriction following the same procedure. FR2 females were also assigned into two subgroups for either uterine dissection or for mating to examine pregnancy outcomes. Uteri from the C, FR1 and FR2 groups were dissected at 4 weeks of age (before puberty) or at 8 weeks of age (after puberty) to evaluate uterine weight and uterine horn length. Tissues were stained with eosin and haematoxylin for examination vialight microscopy. The results showed that food restriction did not affect uterine weight or uterine horn length in FR1 and FR2 females before puberty. however, there were effects of maternal food restriction on uterine weight and length at 8 weeks of age. Uterine weight and uterine horn length were significantly reduced in the FR1 and FR2 groups compared with the values of the controls. This was associated with changes in pregnancy outcomes. Litter size was not affected in the FR1 group;however, litter weight was significantly reduced, leading to an 18% reduction in pup weight at birth. Unlike with FR1 litters, the size of FR2 litters was significantly reduced, leading to a lower degree of pup body weight reduction at birth (only 7%). Observations of the second solar spectrum(SSS) revealed the existence of prominent linear polarization signals due to lines of the C2 *** of the SSS is the only tool to obtain the weak and turbulent magnetic field which is widespread in the Quiet ***,this interpretation is conditioned by the determination of accurate collisional *** this context,we present a formulation of the problem of the calculation of the polarization transfer rates by collisions of polarized C2 states with *** obtained formulae are applied to determine,for the first time,the polarization transfer rates between the C2 states of the Swan band electronic system(a 3Πu d 3Πq) and electrons for temperatures going up from 1000 to 10000 ***,due to the closeness of the electronic states of the C2 molecule,the two electronic d 3Πg and a 3Πu cannot be disconnected from the other electronic levels and,thus,a model based on only two states is not sufficient to describe the formation of the lines in the Swan ***,we also calculated the collisional polarization transfer rates in the case where the first eight electronic states of C2 are taken into *** rates are given as functions of the temperature by power *** results should be useful for future solar applications.
