Bimetal tube extrusion process through rotating conical dies was studied analytically and numerically. A kinematically admissible velocity field was developed to evaluate the internal power and the power dissipated on frictional and velocity discontinuity surfaces. By balancing the moment applied by the rotary die with the moments caused by the circumferential frictions in the container and on the mandrel, the twisting length of the material in the container was determined. By equating the total power with the required external power, the extrusion pressure was determined by optimizing with respect to the slippage parameter between the die and the outer material. It is shown that the extrusion pressure is decreased by about 20% by the die rotation. The bimetal tube extrusion process through rotating die was also simulated using the finite element code, ABAQUS. Analytical results were compared with the results given by the finite element method. These comparisons show a good agreement.

Infectious diseases(e.g.,coronavirus disease 2019)dramatically impact human life,economy and social *** the low-cost and energy-saving approaches is essential in removing infectious virus particles from indoors,such as in *** application of air purification devices,such as negative ion generators(ionizers),gains popularity because of the favorable removal capacity for particles and the low operation ***,small and portable ionizers have potential disadvantages in the removal efficiency owing to the limited horizontal diffusion of negative *** study aims to investigate the layout strategy(number and location)of ionizers based on the energy-efficient natural ventilation in the classroom to improve removal efficiency(negative ions to particles)and decrease infection *** infected students were considered in the *** simulations of negative ion and particle concentrations were performed and validated by the *** showed that as the number of ionizers was 4 and 5,the removal performance was largely improved by combining ionizer with natural *** with the scenario without an ionizer,the scenario with 5 ionizers largely increased the average removal efficiency from around 20%to 85%and decreased the average infection risk by 23%.The setup with 5 ionizers placed upstream of the classroom was determined as the optimal layout strategy,particularly when the location and number of the infected students were *** work can provide a guideline for applying ionizers to public buildings when natural ventilation is used.

The rapid urban development has caused serious problems such as high energy consumption and carbon emissions,especially under the context of climate *** are particularly energy-intensive,generating about one third of global energyrelated carbon *** with active solutions(like mechanical systems),passive solutions offer the potential to balance energy consumption,thermal comfort,and ecological *** potential solution is the integration of green glass space(GGS)into passive building *** is a transitional building space with glass curtain walls that exhibit excellent insulation performance during ***,GGS is susceptible to overheating during summer,which limits its ***,this work proposes a strategy of integrating vertical greenery into GGS,leveraging the nature-based solution of greenery(i.e.,flourishes in summer and withers in winter)to address this seasonal challenge of *** results demonstrated that the strategic application of vertical greenery can effectively mitigate the overheating in GGS and improve comprehensive *** using full coverage of vertical greenery in a linear layout,the air temperature of GGS and cooling energy consumption were largely reduced by 8.02℃and 12.2%,respectively,while the carbon abatement was enhanced by up to 101.11 *** on a comprehensive evaluation of energy,economy,and environmental benefits,it is recommended to use a greenery configuration with 50%coverage in a vertical linear layout for *** integration of greenery into building design can mitigate adverse environmental impacts,reduce energy consumption,and contribute to the sustainable development of low-carbon cities.

This review paper critically analyzes the most recent literature(64% published after 2015) on the experimentation and mathematical modeling of latent heat thermal energy storage(LhTES) systems in buildings. Commercial software and in-built codes used for mathematical modeling of LhTES systems are consolidated and reviewed to provide details on the selection of appropriate tools. Insights on software’s computing speed, model simplicity, accuracy(by considering the convective term in the melting process), and application of artificial neural networks are reviewed in detail. Moreover, the overall research status of the experiments conducted on the phase change material-based LhTES systems with different experiment configurations is reviewed. The analysis shows that ANSYS Fluent is the most widely used software for specific heat transfer phenomenon in storage tanks, while self-developed models with simplified terms are evaluated as more flexible and easier to apply. For hybrid systems, self-developed MATLAB, mature parts in ESP-r, TRNSYS, and EnergyPlus are compatible. Further, most of the experimental investigations are conducted on the laboratory scale, providing data for model validation. To provide a clear guidance for the future market application, the scope for future works is presented. With this review, it would be easier to develop a unified, simplified, visual, and accurate simulation platform for the PCM-based thermal energy storage in buildings.

Organisms causing spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in children with liver disease and ascites in Southern Iran

AIM： To determine the causative agents of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis （SBP） in children with liver disease and ascites in our center. METhODS： During a 2.5 year period, from September 2003 to March 2006, 12 patients with 13 episodes of SBP were studied. In all cases at the time of admission serum albumin and glucose, urinalysis and urine culture was performed. Analysis [white blood cell （WBC） count with differential, albumin, glucose], gram stain, culture by BACTEC method and antibiogram was done on ascitic fluids. Abdominal paracentesis was repeated after 48 h of antibiotic therapy for bacteriologic assay. The patients were followed for at least three months in a gastroenterology clinic. RESULTS： There were 7 girls （58%） and 5 boys （42%） with a median age of 5.2 years （range, 6 mo to 16 years）. All cases had positive ascitic fluid culture. Gram stain was positive in 5 （38.5%） of them. The isolated organisms were S. pneumoniae in 5 （38.5%）, E. coli in 2 （15.3%）, S. viridans in 2 （15.3%）, and K. pneumoniae, h. influenza, Enterococci, and nontypable Streptococcus each in one （7.7%）. All of them except Enterococci were sensitive to ciprofloxacin and ceftriaxone. All ascitic fluid cultures were negative after 48 h of antibiotic therapy. CONCLUSION： S. pneumoniae is the most common cause of SBP in the pediatric age group and we recommend a third generation cephalosporine （e.g., Ceftriaxlone or Cefotaxime） for empirical therapy in children with SBP.

An oxime-derived palladacycle was synthesized using 4-bromobenzoxime and pyridine in ChCl3, and characterized by FT-IR and 1h NMR spectroscopy. This Pd complex was supported on Fe3O4/oleic acid and shown to be an efficient catalyst for the copper-free Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction of various aryl halides with phenylacetylene in air and in ethanol or mixed aqueous medium. The oxime- derived palladacycle gave highly active palladium nanoparticles for the organic synthesis. The coupling products were obtained in high yields with low Pd loading and the heterogeneous catalyst can be separated by an external magnet and reused six times without loss of its activity. The characterization of the catalyst was carried out by XRD, SEM and TEM. Both TEM and XRD revealed that the palladium nanoparticles were well dispersed with diameters from 5 to 10 nm and average size 9.97 nm.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.
