BACKGROUND One of the most popular bariatric procedures is sleeve gastrectomy,and it has become significantly more common in recent *** To evaluate the research activity in sleeve gastrectomy over the last two decades,and to visualize the hot spots and emerging trends in this type of bariatric surgeryusing bibliometric *** The Scopus database was used to search for publications related to sleeve *** retrieved publications were reviewed in terms of year of publication,type of study,country of origin,institutions,journals,and citation patterns by using descriptive *** network and term cooccurrence analysis were visualized by using VOSviewer *** The search strategy yielded a total of 6508 publications on sleeve gastrectomy from 2001 to *** regards the document type,the majority were articles(n=5230;80.36%),followed by reviews(n=544;8.36%).The top three countries are the United States,with 1983 publications(30.47%),followed by France(600;9.22%)and Italy(417;6.71%).The most cited publication was published in 2012 by Schauer et al in the New England Journal of Medicine(n=1435 citations).This publication found that weight loss was greater in the sleeve gastrectomy group than in the medical therapy ***,this study demonstrated that 12 mo of medical therapy plus bariatric surgery greatly improved glycemic regulation in obese patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes compared with medical therapy *** focus of the current literature on sleeve gastrectomy was directed toward several themes such as morbidity and potential complications,the complexity of the procedure and different surgical approaches,and diabetes and body mass index in correlation to sleeve *** The number of sleeve gastrectomy publications has gradually grown over the last 20 *** bibliometric analysis could help researchers better understand the knowledge base and research frontiers surrounding sleeve

The impact of cold atmospheric pressure plasma jet on seed germination and seedlings growth of fenugreek(Trigonella foenum-graecum)

The effects of cold atmospheric-pressure plasma jet (CAPPJ) were investigated on germination and early seedling growth of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L) seeds. A two-electrode argon CAPPJ system with and without an additional grounded electrode [accelerating grounded (AG) electrode] was used at different exposure times. After 16 h of observation, the germination rates increased by 4 and 7 times, without and with using an AG electrode, respectively, for 1 min of plasma exposure. An increase in shoot fresh weight was observed, especially at 10 min exposure time. A high dry weight of root and shoot at 1 min-AG exposure time was observed. The root:shoot ratio was lower in plasma-treated seedlings, compared with the control plants. The study found that the O-radical emission line (777.4 nm) enhanced 5 times, due to the presence of an AG electrode, which increased the axial electric field and led to the formation of more streamers. The three stated effects (O-radicals, enhancement of the electric field and streamers) could be the cause for the stimulation of seed germination and seedling growth parameters when using the CAPPJ. The scanning electron microscope images showed the etching of the seed surface layers, which was more pronounced when an AG electrode was applied. The results of the current study indicate that the germination rates increased due to the increase of O-radical concentration and the etching of the seed surfaces.

INTERPARTICLE FORCES IN hIGh TEMPERATURE FLUIDIZATION OF GELDART A PARTICLES

Previous reports and current studies show that fluidization of some Geldart A particles is enhanced by increasing bed temperature. Both the averaged local particle concentration and the particle concentration in the dense phase decrease with increasing bed temperature, at constant superficial gas velocities. however, conventional models fail to predict these changes, because the role of interparticle forces is usually neglected at different bed temperatures. here, the interparticle forces are analyzed to explore the mechanism of gas-solid fluidization at high temperatures. Indeed, as the temperature increases, the interparticle attractive forces decrease while the interparticle repulsive forces increase. Consequently, fluidization behaviors of some Geldart A particles seem to increasingly shift from typical Geldart A towards B with increasing temperature.

Thrust characteristics of nano-carbon/Al/oxygenated salt nanothermites for micro-energetic applications

Combustion within small motors is key in the application-specific development of nanothermite-based micro-energetic systems. This study evaluates the performance of nanothermite mixtures in a converging-diverging nozzle and an open tube. Mixtures were prepared using nano-aluminum(n-Al),potassium perchlorate(KClO_(4)), and different carbon nanomaterials(CNMs) including graphene-oxide(GO), reduced GO, carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and nanofibers(CNFs). The mixtures were packed at different densities and ignited by laser beam. Performance was measured using thrust measurement,high-speed imaging, and computational fluid dynamics modeling, respectively. Thrust, specific impulse(ISP), volumetric impulse(ISV), as well as normalized energy were found to increase notably with CNM content. Two distinctive reaction regimes(fast and slow) were observed in combustion of low and high packing densities(20% and 55%TMD), respectively. Total impulse(IFT) and ISPwere maximized in the 5%GO/Al/KClO_4 mixture, producing 7.95 m N·s and 135.20 s respectively at 20%TMD, an improvement of 57%compared to a GO-free sample(5.05 m N·s and 85.88 s). CFD analysis of the motors over predicts the thrust generated but trends in nozzle layout and packing density agree with those observed experimentally;peak force was maximized by reducing packing density and using an open tube. The numerical force profiles fit better for the nozzle cases than the open tube scenarios due to the rapid nature of combustion. This study reveals the potential of GO in improving oxygenated salt-based nanothermites,and further demonstrates their applicability for micro-propulsion and micro-energetic applications.

Ground characterization and roof mapping: Online sensor signal-based change detection

Measurement while drilling systems are becoming an important part of excavation operations for rock characterization and ground support design that require reliable information on rock strength and location ＆ frequency of joints or voids. This paper focuses on improving rock characterization algorithms for instrumented roof-boRer systems. For this purpose, an improved void detection algorithm is proposed, where the underlying theory is built upon the concept of mean change detection based on the feed pressure signals. In addition, the application of acoustic sensing for void detection is examined and it is shown that the variance of the filtered acoustic signal is correlated to the strength of the material being drilled. The proposed algorithm has been validated on the data collected from full-scale drilling tests in various concrete and rock samples at the J. h. Fletcher facility.

Phenol contaminated municipal wastewater treatment using date palm frond biochar:Optimization using response surface methodology

Phenol is classified as an emerging contaminant which can be very toxic even at low concentrations and should be removed from wastewaters before reaching the *** this study date palm frond and leaf were pyrolyzed at different temperatures to identify the best adsorbent(feedstock)and pyrolysis temperature to remove phenol from aqueous *** palm frond pyrolyzed at 600℃,termed DPF600,achieved the highest phenol removal rates of 64%and adsorption capacity of 15.93 mg/*** surface methodology approach using Box-Behnken design was implemented to obtain the optimal ph(6),contact time(20 h)and dosage(0.1 g)for the maximum phenol adsorption.A predicted adsorption capacity was found as 16.62 mg/g which was in close agreement with the experimental adsorption capacity of 17.38 mg/*** and kinetic models in both linear and non-linear forms indicated that Freundlich model(R^(2)=0.99,χ^(2)=0.02,RMSE=1.09)and pseudo-second order model(R^(2)=0.99,χ^(2)=0.85,RMSE=5.41)fit best the obtained experimental *** calculations affirmed that the adsorption of phenol onto DPF600 biochar was endothermic and *** point of zero charge was found to be at 6.5 for DPF600 *** electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction confirmed adsorption of phenol onto DPF600 *** of DPF600 biochar to remove phenol from synthetic primary and secondary treated wastewater samples achieved 60 and 85%removal rates and 241 mg/g and 22.28 mg/g adsorption capacities,*** studies showed promising adsorption capacities indicating the efficacy of DPF600 for the removal of phenol from wastewater.

Synthesis, Structure and Quantum Mechanical Calculations of Methyl 2-(5-((Quinolin-8-yloxy)-methyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-ylthio)-acetate

The title compound was synthesized by the base catalyzed reaction of 5-（（quinolin- 8-yloxy）methyl）-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2（3h）-thione with methyl chloroacetate. The structure was supported by the spectroscopic data and unambiguously confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. It crystallizes from a methanol solution in the triclinic space group Pi with unit cell dimensions a = 7.4509（9）, b = 10.2389（12）, c = 12.2299（15）A, a = 74.771（2）, β = 77.956（2）, 7 = 69.263（2）°, V = 834.98（17） A3 and Z = 2. In order to gain some valuable insights into the molecular structure, the quantum mechanical calculations were performed using both.h. and time-dependent density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G（d,p） level. The molecular geometry from X-ray determination of the title compound in the ground state has been compared using the hartree-Fock （hF） and density functional theory （DFT） with the 6-31G（d） basis set. The calculated results show that the DFT and hF can well reproduce the structure of the title compound. The energetic behavior of the title compound was examined using the B3LYP method with the 6-31G（d） basis set. The harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated have been compared with the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra. The restricted hartree-Fock and density functional theory-based nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） calculation procedure was also performed, and it was used for assigning the 13C and 1h NMR chemical shifts of the title compound. Moreover, molecular electrostatic potential and thermodynamic parameters of the title compound were investigated by theoretical calculations.

Rock characterization while drilling and application of roof bolter drilling data for evaluation of ground conditions

Despite recent advances in mine health and safety, roof collapse and instabilities are still the leading causes of injury and fatality in underground mining operations. Improving safety and optimum design of ground support requires good and reliable ground characterization. While many geophysical methods have been developed for ground characterizations, their accuracy is insufficient for customized ground support design of underground workings. The actual measurements on the samples of the roof and wall strata from the exploration boring are reliable but the related holes are far apart, thus unsuitable for design purposes. The best source of information could be the geological back mapping of the roof and walls, but this is disruptive to mining operations, and provided information is only from rock *** of the data obtained from roof bolt drilling can offer a good and reliable source of information that can be used for ground characterization and ground support design and evaluations. This paper offers a brief review of the mine roof characterization methods, followed by introduction and discussion of the roof characterization methods by instrumented roof bolters. A brief overview of the results of the preliminary study and initial testing on an instrumented drill and summary of the suggested improvements are also discussed.
