Toclarify the key technologies and institutions that support EVsas terminals for energy use, storage, and feedback, the cSEEJPES forum assembled renowned experts and scholars in relevantfields to deliver keynote reports and engage in discussions ontopics such as vehicle–grid integration technology, advancedsolid-state battery technology, high-performance electric motortechnology, and institutional innovation in the industry *** experts also provided prospects for energy storage andutilization technologies capable of decarbonizing new powersystems.

hWD-YOLO: A New Vision-Based helmet Wearing Detection Method

It is crucial to ensure workers wear safety helmets when working at a workplace with a high risk of safety accidents, such as construction sites and mine tunnels. Although existing methods can achieve helmet detection in images, their accuracy and speed still need improvements since complex, cluttered, and large-scale scenes of real workplaces cause server occlusion, illumination change, scale variation, and perspective distortion. So, a new safety helmet-wearing detection method based on deep learning is proposed. Firstly, a new multi-scale contextual aggregation module is proposed to aggregate multi-scale feature information globally and highlight the details of concerned objects in the backbone part of the deep neural network. Secondly, a new detection block combining the dilate convolution and attention mechanism is proposed and introduced into the prediction part. This block can effectively extract deep features while retaining information on fine-grained details, such as edges and small objects. Moreover, some newly emerged modules are incorporated into the proposed network to improve safety helmet-wearing detection performance further. Extensive experiments on open dataset validate the proposed method. It reaches better performance on helmet-wearing detection and even outperforms the state-of-the-art method. To be more specific, the mAP increases by 3.4%, and the speed increases from 17 to 33 fps in comparison with the baseline, You Only Look Once (YOLO) version 5X, and the mean average precision increases by 1.0% and the speed increases by 7 fps in comparison with the YOLO version 7. The generalization ability and portability experiment results show that the proposed improvements could serve as a springboard for deep neural network design to improve object detection performance in complex scenarios. copyright © 2024 The Authors. The generation of ultrashort high-power light sources in the mid-infrared(mid-IR)to terahertz(Thz)range is of interest for applications in a number of fields,from fundamental research to biology and *** conventional laser technology,photon deceleration in plasma wakes provides an alternative approach to the generation of ultrashort mid-IR or Thz ***,we present a photon deceleration scheme for the efficient generation of ultrashort mid-IR or Thz pulses by using an intense driver laser pulse with a relatively short wavelength and a signal laser pulse with a relatively long *** signal pulse trails the driver pulse with an appropriate time delay such that it sits at the front of the second wake bubble that is driven by the driver *** to its relatively long wavelength,the signal pulse will be subjected to a large gradient of the refractive index in the plasma wake ***,the photon deceleration in the plasma wake becomes faster and more efficient for signal pulses with longer *** greatly enhances the capacity and efficiency of photon deceleration in the generation of ultrashort high-power light sources in the long-wavelength IR and Thz spectral ranges.

Towards an ultrafast 3D imaging scanning liDAR system: a review

light detection and ranging (liDAR), as a hot imaging technology in both industry and academia, has undergone rapid innovation and evolution. The current mainstream direction is towards system miniaturization and integration. There are many metrics that can be used to evaluate the performance of a liDAR system, such as lateral resolution, ranging accuracy, stability, size, and price. Until recently, with the continuous enrichment of liDAR application scenarios, the pursuit of imaging speed has attracted tremendous research interest. Particularly, for autonomous vehicles running on motorways or industrial automation applications, the imaging speed of liDAR systems is a critical bottleneck. In this review, we will focus on discussing the upper speed limit of the liDAR system. Based on the working mechanism, the limitation of optical parts on the maximum imaging speed is analyzed. The beam scanner has the greatest impact on imaging speed. We provide the working principle of current popular beam scanners used in liDAR systems and summarize the main constraints on the scanning speed. Especially, we highlight the spectral scanning liDAR as a new paradigm of ultrafast ***, to further improve the imaging speed, we then review the parallel detection methods, which include multiple-detector schemes and multiplexing technologies. Furthermore, we summarize the liDAR systems with the fastest point acquisition rate reported nowadays. In the outlook, we address the current technical challenges for ultrafast liDAR systems from different aspects and give a brief analysis of the feasibility of different approaches.

Spatial distributions of soil nutrients affected by land use,topography and their interactions,in the Loess Plateau of china

Soil nutrient availability and their spatial distributions are strongly related to land use and landscape *** study aims to address the knowledge gap regarding the interaction between these factors and the underlying *** selected five land uses(grassland with Artemisia gmelinii,woodland with Robinia pseudoacacia,shrubland with caragana korshinskii and hippophae rhamnoides,and apple orchard with Malus pumila)and nine slope positions across hillslopes in the Loess Plateau,china,to investigate their combined effects on the contents and stocks of soil organic carbon(SOc),total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP).Parametric and non-parametric statistical tests were conducted to determine the significant differences in the means or the medians of the soil nutrient *** showed that the SOc and TN contents of shrubland with caragana korshinskii were statistically significantly greater than those of the grassland(pc and TN contents generally decreased from the upper slope to the middle slope,and to the foot slope for the grassland,woodland and shrublands,and on the contrary,an increasing trend from the upper slope,to the middle slope,and to the foot slope was identified for the apple *** study highlights that land use,slope position and their interaction have significant effects on the spatial distributions of soil *** provides essential empirical evidence for the identification of the optimal vegetation type and slope positions in land management and vegetation restoration activities.

Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous hall effect and the quantum spin hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.
