Recently, the high-tech industry has become a key industry for economic development in many countries. however, vibration sensitive equipment located in these industrial buildings is vulnerable during earthquakes, wh.c. may cause huge economic loss. In this study, an innovative isolator for safeguarding the vibration sensitive equipment, namely, the static dynamics interchangeable^all pendulum system （SDI-BPS） is proposed and investigated to examine its protective capability for the vibration sensitive equipment during earthquakes through a series of tri-directional shaking table tests. The experimental results illustrate that the SDI-BPS isolator can provide significant damping to rolling types of base isolation systems for reducing the bearing displacement and size, and avoid the stress concentration, wh.c. can cause damage or scratches on the rolling surface of the isolator, to prolong its life span of service. The SDI-BPS isolator also provides excellent capability in protecting the vibration sensitive equipment and exhibits a stable behavior under long terms of service loadings and earthquakes.

Elucidating the complex dynamic cellular organization in the hypothalamus is critical for understanding its role in coordinating fundamental body functions. Over the past decade, single-cell and spatial omics technologies have significantly evolved, overcoming initial technical challenges in capturing and analyzing individual cells. These high-throughput omics technologies now offer a remarkable opportunity to comprehend the complex spatiotemporal patterns of transcriptional diversity and cell-type characteristics across the entire hypothalamus. current single-cell and single-nucleus RNA sequencing methods comprehensively quantify gene expression by exploring distinct phenotypes across various subregions of the hypothalamus. however, single-cell/single-nucleus RNA sequencing requires isolating the cell/nuclei from the tissue, potentially resulting in the loss of spatial information concerning neuronal networks. Spatial transcriptomics methods, by bypassing the cell dissociation, can elucidate the intricate spatial organization of neural networks through their imaging and sequencing technologies. In this review, we highlight the applicative value of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics in exploring the complex molecular-genetic diversity of hypothalamic cell types, driven by recent high-throughput achievements.

Multi-agent technology has been applied extensively to many areas, including Decision support Systems （DSS）. however, the applications of multi-agent technology in DSS are still very preliminary. Most of the current agent frameworks, such as middle-agent-based or agent-facilitator-based frameworks, are basically agent-to-agent model. These agent-based frameworks often neglect the living environment for agents and they suffer from：（i） inability to adapt to the environment, （ii） inability to self-upgrade, and （iii） inefficiency in information acquisition. here, we introduce a recently proposed multi-agent framework, namely Agent-based Open connectivity for Decision support Systems （AOcD）. In this new framework, the communication and cooperation between agents are through a key component, the Matrix, wh.c. provides a virtual platform for agents. We use a unified Matrices framework to solve the bottleneck problem in the AOcD framework. Our experimental results based on different agent network topologies indicate that the hybrid topology presents superior performance compared with the centralised and decentralised topologies.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） exhibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction （hER）,and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite （MMT） layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high.c.cling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory（DFT） calculations and water contact angle （cA） tests prove that MMT@Zn anode exhibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn2+and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving excellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm-2and 0.125 m A h.c.-2,even exceeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh.c.nditions of 5 m A cm-2and 1.25 m A h *** MMT@Zn||V2O5full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g-1with excellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.

This study examines the roles of soil-structure interaction （SSI）, higher modes, and damping in a base-isolated structure built on multiple layers of soil overlying a half space. closed-form solutions for the entire system, including a superstructure, seismic isolator, and numerous soil layers overlying a half-space, were obtained. The formulations obtained in this study simply in terms of well-known frequencies and mechanical impedance ratios can explicitly interpret the dynamic behavior of a base-isolated structure interacting with multiple soil layers overlying a half-space. The key factors influencing the performance of the isolation system are the damping ratio of the isolator and the ratio of the natural frequency of the fixed-base structure to that of the isolated structure by assuming that the superstructure moves as a rigid body. This study reveals that higher damping in the base isolator is unfavorable to higher mode responses that usually dominate the responses of the superstructure and that the damping mechanism plays an important role in transmitting energy in addition to absorbing energy. It is also concluded that it is possible to design a soft soil layer as an isolation system for isolating vibration energy.

current structural analysis software programs offer few if any applicable device-specifi c hysteresis rules or nonlinear elements to simulate the precise mechanical behavior of a multiple friction pendulum system(MFPS) with numerous sliding *** on the concept of subsystems,an equivalent series system that adopts existing nonlinear elements with parameters systematically calculated and mathematically proven through rigorous derivations is *** aim is to simulate the characteristics of sliding motions for an MFPS isolation system with numerous concave sliding interfaces without prior knowledge of detailed information on the mobilized forces at various sliding *** MFPS with numerous concave sliding interfaces and one articulated or rigid slider located between these interfaces is divided into two subsystems: the fi rst represents the concave sliding interfaces above the slider,and the second represents those below the *** equivalent series system for the entire system is then obtained by connecting those for each subsystem in *** equivalent series system is validated by comparing numerical results for an MFPS with four sliding interfaces obtained from the proposed method with those from a previous study by Fenz and ***,these numerical results demonstrate that an MFPS isolator with numerous concave sliding interfaces,wh.c. may have any number of sliding interfaces,is a good isolation device to protect structures from earthquake damage through appropriate designs with.c.ntrollable mechanisms.

A model GM （grey model）（1,1） for forecasting the rate of copper extraction during the bioleaching of primary sulphide ore was established on the basis of the mathematical theory and the modeling process of grey system theory. It was used for forecasting the rate of copper extraction from the primary sulfide ore during a laboratory microbial column leaching experiment. The precision of the forecasted results were examined and modified via ＂posterior variance examination＂. The results show that the forecasted values coincide with the experimental values. GM （1,1） model has high forecast accuracy; and it is suitable for simulation control and prediction analysis of the original data series of the processes that have grey characteristics, such as mining, metallurgical and mineral processing, etc. The leaching rate of such.c.pper sulphide ore is low. The grey forecasting result indicates that the rate of copper extraction is approximately 20% even after leaching for six months.

A numerical procedure using a stable cell-based smoothed finite element method(cS-FEM)is presented for estimation of stability of a square tunnel in the soil where the shear strength increases linearly with *** kinematically admissible displacement fields are approximated by uniform quadrilateral elements in conjunction with the strain smoothing technique,eliminating volumetric locking issues and the singularity associated with the Mohrecoulomb ***,a rich set of simulations was performed to compute the static stability of a square tunnel with different geometries and soil *** presented results are in excellent agreement with the upper and lower bound solutions using the standard finite element method(FEM).The stability charts and tables are given for practical use in the tunnel design,along with a newly proposed formulation for predicting the undrained stability of a single square ***,the seismic stability number was computed using the present numerical *** results reveal that the seismic stability number reduces with an increasing value of the horizontal seismic acceleration(a_(h)),for both.c.ses of the weightless soil and the soil with unit ***,the link between the static and seismic stability numbers is described using corrective factors that represent reductions in the tunnel stability due to seismic *** is shown from the numerical results that the corrective factor becomes larger as the unit weight of soil mass increases;however,the degree of the reduction in seismic stability number tends to reduce for the case of the homogeneous ***,this advanced numerical procedure is straightforward to extend to three-dimensional(3D)limit analysis and is readily applicable for the calculation of the stability of tunnels in highly anisotropic and heterogeneous soils wh.c. are often encountered in practice.

Buckling restrained braces （BRBs） have been widely applied in seismic mitigation since they were introduced in the 1970s. however, traditional BRBs have several disadvantages caused by using a steel tube to envelope the mortar to prevent the core plate from buckling, such as： complex interfaces between the materials used, uncertain precision, and time consumption during the manufacturing processes. In this study, a new device called the multi-curve buckling restrained brace （Mc-BRB） is proposed to overcome these disadvantages. The new device consists of a core plate with multiple neck portions assembled to form multiple energy dissipation segments, and the enlarged segment, lateral support elements and constraining elements to prevent the BRB from buckling. The enlarged segment located in the middle of the core plate can be welded to the lateral support and constraining elements to increase buckling resistance and to prevent them from sliding during earthquakes. component tests and a series of shaking table tests on a full-scale steel structure equipped with Mc-BRBs were carried out to investigate the behavior and capability of this new BRB design for seismic mitigation. The experimental results illustrate that the Mc-BRB possesses a stable mechanical behavior under cyclic loadings and provides good protection to structures during earthquakes. Also, a mathematical model has been developed to simulate the mechanical characteristics of BRBs.

In this study, interval-parameter programming, two-stage stochastic progranaming （TSP）, and conditional value-at-risk （cVaR） were incorporated into a general optimization framework, leading to an interval-parameter cVaR-based two-stage programming （IcTP） method. The IcTP method had several advantages：（i） its objective function simultaneously took expected cost and risk cost into consideration, and also used discrete random variables and discrete intervals to reflect uncertain properties; （ii） it quantitatively evaluated the right tail of distributions of random variables wh.c. could better calculate the risk of violated environmental standards; （iii） it was useful for helping decision makers to analyze the trade-offs between cost and risk; and （iv） it was effective to penalize the second-stage costs, as well as to capture the notion of risk in stochastic programming. The developed model was applied to sulfur dioxide abatement in an air quality management system. The results indicated that the IcTP method could be used for generating a series of air quality management schemes under different risk-aversion levels, for identifying desired air quality management strategies for decision makers, and for considering a proper balance between system economy and environmental quality.
