The phase transformation behavior and micro structure of Nb-Ru alloys have been studied by DSC, X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high-resolution electron microscopy (hREM). Two-step phase transformation of CsCl (β) →face-centered tetragonal (β)→ monoclinic (β') occurs during cooling from high temperature to room temperature. The lattice parameters of marten-sites of Nb-Ru alloys were found to increase with the increase of Nb content. The martensite variants exhibit triangular self-accommodating morphology, with alternating regular bands inside. The twinning relationship between the sub structural bands was found to be (101) type I mode, and this kind of twinning interface was straight, well-defined and coherent.

The Impact of the Saudi Oil Exports on the Saudi Economy:an ...

There are certain concerns that Saudi Arabia economy is directly association to its oil exports globally. This because each day the country produces an approximate 9 million barrels of crude oil which makes a major driver of the energy market and the global economy. historically, Saudi Arabia has exported oil since 1939 with increasing output and capacity as well as infrastructure developments leading to the country being considered the leading oil production nation globally. The quantitative relationship between oil exports and the Saudi Arabia economy varies and therefore it is important to quantitatively evaluate the statistical relationship between these variables in order determine the economic implications of variations in oil exports. In this thesis, a quantitative study that identifies the effect of oil export on the Saudi economy using statistical models that aim to evaluate the impact of oil trade on the GDP. It employs pertinent statistical tools and time series analysis in the evaluation of the dynamic correlation between oil exports and macroeconomic variables in Saudi Arabia based on Cobb-Douglas model. The results reveal that oil exports have a significant impact on the GDP since according to the findings the Saudi GDP and crude oil exports have a statistically significant positive relationship.

The ductility map of 304hC stainless was determined by using the Gleeble-1500 dynamic thermal-mechanical simulator. The effect of Cu on the hot ductility of 304hC stainless steel was analyzed and the mathematical model of resistance to deformation was established. The microstructure, inclusion and fracture surface were studied by using the method of micro structure analysis, scanning, energy spectrum and electron microscope. The results show that Cu has effect on the hot ductility, and the hot ductility of 304hC stainless steel decrease with the increase of content of Cu. The deformation temperature also has much effect on the hot ductility, the suitable deformation temperature are 1100-1200℃. The reason of it is that the Cu rich chemical compounds were precipitated from austenite phase during cooling. The Cu rich chemical compounds are brittle substance such as Cu2S, Cu2O and ε-Cu etc.

Accurate relocation of earthquakes in central-western China using the double-difference earthquake location algorithm

The double-difference earthquake relocation algorithm (DD algorithm) has been applied to the accurate relocation of 10057 earthquakes in the central-western China (21°-36°N, 98°-112E°) during the period of 1992-1999. In total, 79706 readings for P waves and 72169 readings for S waves were used in the relocation, and the source parameters of 6496 events were obtained. The relocation results revealed a more complete picture of the hypocentral distribution in the central-western China. In several seismic belts the relocated epicenters present a more defined lineation feature, reflecting the close correlation between the seismicity and the active tectonic structures. The relocated focal depths confirmed that most earthquakes (91 percent of the 6496 relocated events) in the central-western China were located at shallower depths not deeper than 20 km. The distribution of focal depths indicates that the seismogenic layer in the central-western China is located in the upper-mid crust with its thickness no deeper than 20 km.

Adult olfactory neurogenesis plays critical roles in maintaining olfactory ***-generated neurons in the subventricular zone migrate to the olfactory bulb(OB) and determine olfactory discrimination,but the mechanisms underlying the regulation of olfactory neurogenesis remain *** previous study indicated the potential of APPL2(adaptor protein,phosphotyrosine interacting with Ph domain and leucine zipper 2) as a modulating factor for neurogenesis in the adult olfactory *** the present study,we report how APPL2 affects neurogenesis in the OB and thereby mediates olfactory discrimination by using both in vitro neural stem cells(NSCs) and an in vivo animal model-APPL2 transgenic(Tg) *** the in vitro study,we found that APPL2 overexpression resulted in NSCs switching from neuronal differentiation to gliogenesis while APPL2 knockdown promoted *** the in vivo study,APPL2 Tg mice had a higher population of glial cells and dampened neuronal production in the olfactory system,including the corpus callosum,OB,and rostral migratory *** APPL2 Tg mice displayed impaired performance in olfactory discrimination tests compared with wild-type ***,we found that an interaction of APPL2 with Notch1 contributed to the roles of APPL2 in modulating the neurogenic lineage-switching and olfactory *** conclusion,APPL2 controls olfactory discrimination by switching the fate choice of NSCs via interaction with Notch1 signaling.
