The Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy(LEIA),a pathfinder of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope of the Einstein Probe mission,was successfully launched onboard the SATech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on2022 July *** this paper,we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the LEIA *** stateof-the-art Micro-Pore Optics(MPO),a wide field of view of 346 square degrees(18.6°×18.6°)of the X-ray imager is *** optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident X-ray photons,and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)sensors,each of size 6 cm×6 cm,are used as the focal plane *** instrument has an angular resolution of 4’-8’(in terms of FWhM)for the central focal spot of the point-spread function,and an effective area of 2-3 cm^(2) at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of *** detection passband is 0.5-4 keV in soft X-rays and the sensitivity is2-3×10^(-11) erg s^(-1) cm^(-2)(about 1 milliCrab)with a 1000 s *** total weight of LEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 *** satellite,with a design lifetime of 2 yr,operates in a Sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 *** is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOS sensors for X-ray observation,and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental *** addition,LEIA is able to carry out scientific observations to find new transients and to monitor known sources in the soft X-ray band,albeit with limited useful observing time available.

A power management unit （PMU） chip supplying dual panel supply voltage, which has a low electro-magnetic interference （EMI） characteristic and is favorable for miniaturization, is designed. A two-phase charge pump circuit using external pumping capacitor increases its pumping current and works out the charge-loss problem by using bulk-potential biasing circuit. A low-power start-up circuit is also proposed to reduce the power consumption of the band-gap reference voltage generator. And the ring oscillator used in the ELVSS power circuit is designed with logic devices by supplying the logic power supply to reduce the layout area. The PMU chip is designed with MagnaChip＇s 0.25 μ high-voltage process. The driving currents of ELVDD and ELVSS are more than 50 mA when a SPICE simulation is done.

Development of the telencephalon relies upon several signaling centers-localized cellular populations that supply secreted factors to pattern the cortical *** such signaling center is the cortical hem,which arises during embryonic development at the telencephalic dorsal midline,adjacent to the choroid plexus and hippocampal primordium(Figure 1A).While the cortical hem has also been described in reptiles and birds,most of our knowledge about the developmental roles of the cortical hem is derived from the analysis in *** cortical hem produces several types of secreted molecules,including wingless-related integration site(Wnt)and bone morphogenetic(Bmp)*** cortical hem is particularly important for the development of the hippocampus,which is involved in learning and memory,and the neocortex,which is the most complex brain region that mediates multiple types of behavior and higher cognitive functions(Mangale et al.,2008;Dal-Valle-Anton and Borrell,2022).

Measurements and estimation of flow velocity in mobile bed rills

Rills are primary sediment sources and hillslope water/sediment runoff transport channels. Water flow velocities in rills are easily affected by bed condition over eroding and non-eroding slopes, which is an important hydrodynamic process in soil erosion research. This research is done to demonstrate the poorly understood “feedback mechanism” related to slope independence of flow velocity to slope gradient. A series of experiments were done on silt loam soil slopes to measure water flow velocity in rills under nine unit width flow rates(q)(0.17 × 10-3, 0.33 × 10-3, 0.67 × 10-3, 1.33 × 10-3, 2.67 × 10-3,5.33 × 10-3, 10.67 × 10-3, 21.33 × 10-3, and 42.67 × 10-3m3/(s·m)) combined with four slope gradients(8.7%, 17.6%, 26.8%, and 36.4%), in which mobile bed rills were monitored. For unit flow velocity under q ≤ 1.33 × 10-3m2/s, independence of flow velocity to slope was obtained. however, the results indicated that slope gradient combined with a higher unit flow rate contributed to better velocity prediction and fitted with a segmented equation well(R2= 0.95). A feedback mechanism was able to verify that the increase in roughness directly dissipated flow energy to reduce flow velocity, but cannot completely counterbalances steep slope effect. The experimental results showed that erosion-caused morphological changes on soil slopes reduce flow velocity by half due to an increase in bed roughness. Therefore, the current experimental measurements considering a wide range of flow rate and slope gradient conditions is useful to reveal the steep slope effect in mobile bed rills. The analysis showed that, for the investigated conditions, the flow velocity is a slope gradient-and flow ratedependent parameter.

Connected Vehicle-Based Traffic Signal Coordination

This study presents a connected vehicles(CVs)-based traffic signal optimization framework for a coordinated arterial *** signal optimization and coordination problem are first formulated in a centralized scheme as a mixed-integer nonlinear program(MINLP).The optimal phase durations and offsets are solved together by minimizing fuel consumption and travel time considering an individual vehicle’s *** to the complexity of the model,we decompose the problem into two levels:an intersection level to optimize phase durations using dynamic programming(DP),and a corridor level to optimize the offsets of all *** order to solve the two-level model,a prediction-based solution technique is *** proposed models are tested using traffic simulation under various *** with the traditional actuated signal timing and coordination plan,the signal timing plans generated by solving the MINLP and the two-level model can reasonably improve the signal control *** considering varies vehicle types under high demand levels,the proposed two-level model reduced the total system cost by 3.8%comparing to baseline actuated *** reduced the system cost by 5.9%.It also suggested that coordination scheme was beneficial to corridors with relatively high demand *** intersections with major and minor street,coordination conducted for major street had little impacts on the vehicles at the minor street.

Joint Optimal Scheduling for Electric Vehicle Battery Swapping-charging Systems Based on Wind Farms

Insufficiencies in charging facilities limit the broad application of electric vehicles(EVs).In addition,EV can hardly represent a green option if its electricity primarily depends on fossil *** these two problems,this paper studies a battery swapping-charging system based on wind farms(hereinafter referred to as W-BSCS).In a W-BSCS,the wind farms not only supply electricity to the power grid but also cooperate with a centralized charge station(CCS),which can centrally charge EV batteries and then distribute them to multiple battery swapping stations(BSSs).The operational framework of the W-BSCS is analyzed,and some preprocessing technologies are developed to reduce complexity in ***,a joint optimal scheduling model involving a wind power generation plan,battery swapping demand,battery charging and discharging,and a vehicle routing problem(VRP)is *** a heuristic method based on the exhaustive search and the Genetic Algorithm is employed to solve the formulated NP-hard *** results verify the effectiveness of the joint optimal scheduling model,and they also show that the W-BSCS has great potential to promote EVs and wind power.
