Power Generation Enhancement in a Solar Energy and Biomass-Based Distributed Energy System using h_(2)O/CO_(2)hybrid Gasification

A new solar energy and biomass-based distributed energy system using h_(2)O/CO_(2)hybrid gasification is proposed,and their complementarity to enhance the system's energy efficiency is investigated and *** the system,concentrated solar energy is used to provide heat for biomass gasification;two gasifying agents(h_(2)O and CO_(2))are adopted to enhance syngas yields,and the produced solar fuel is further burned for power production in a combined cycle *** show that CO share in gasification products is remarkably increased with the increment of CO_(2)/h_(2)O mole ratio caused by the boudouard reaction with the consumption of fixed carbon,while the h_(2)share is decreased;the optimal solar-to-fuel efficiency,27.88%,is achieved when the temperature and CO_(2)/h_(2)O mole ratio are 1050℃and 0.45,*** emission reduction rate of CO_(2)in the system under design conditions is reduced by 2.31%compared with that using only h_(2)O *** annual power production of the system is increased by 1.39%,and the thermodynamic and environmental performances are significantly ***,an economic assessment is conducted to forecast the technical feasibility of the hybrid gasification *** work provides a promising route to improving the thermochemical utilization efficiency of solar energy and solid fuel.

Evolution Mechanism of Carbon Covalent Bond during Coal Activation Using Mixed Atmosphere of h_(2)O and CO_(2)

Adequate destruction of the aromatic structure in coal is key to further reducing the emission of *** this research,activation reactions of Shenmu coal powder were carried out in a vertical tube *** study investigated the evolution mechanism of carbon covalent bonds during the activation process by altering the ratio of h_(2)O to CO_(2)in the activation *** theoretical validation was conducted through density functional *** two gas molecules follow different pathways to increase the reactivity of ***_(2)mainly participates in the cross-linking reaction by intensifying branching,while h_(2)O and char have lower adsorption energy barriers and are more likely to generate oxygen-containing functional *** molecules partially compete for active sites in a mixed gas atmosphere,but there is a synergism between the two *** synergism can be attributed to two *** inclusion of h_(2)O mitigates the generation of five-membered rings to a limited extent,while concurrently enhances the development of oxygen-containing functional *** oxygen-containing functional groups can effectively diminish the adsorption energy barrier associated with the interaction between gas molecules and char,consequently leading to a reduction in the energy demand for subsequent bond cleavage.

Dealuminated hβ zeolite for selective conversion of fructose to furfural and formic acid

The fructose-to-furfural transformation is facing major challenges in the selectivity and high efficiency. herein, we have developed a simple and effective approach for the selective conversion of fructose to furfural using hβ zeolite modified by organic acids for dealuminization to regulate its textural and acidic properties. It was found that citric acid-dealuminized hβ zeolite possessed high specific surface areas, wide channels and high Brønsted acid amount, which facilitated the selective conversion of fructose to furfural with a maximum yield of 76.2% at433 K for 1 h in the γ-butyrolactone(GBL)-h_(2)O system, as well as the concomitant formation of 83.0% formic acid. The^(13)C-isotope labelling experiments and the mechanism revealed that the selective cleavage of C1–C2 or C5–C6 bond on fructose was firstly occurred to form pentose or C5 intermediate by weak Brønsted acid, which was then dehydrated to furfural by strong Brønsted acid. Also this dealuminized hβ catalyst showed the great recycling performance and was active for the conversion of glucose and mannose.

A synergetic strategy of NIR-Ⅱ squaraine dyes with ultrahigh photothermal conversion efficiency for photothermal therapy

Recent research on photothermal therapy(PTT) has sparked significant interest in the development of new organic photothermal agents(PTAs),ranging from single-molecule to aggregated ***,controlling aggregation pathways for PTAs with ultrahigh photothermal conversion efficiency(PCE) remains a major ***,a two-pronged approach utilizing “haggregation” and “intramolecular motion” was employed to enhance the PCE of an acceptor-substituted squaraine dye(NSQs).The C2vmolecular symmetry of the NSQs,which possess a ground state dipole moment(μg),promotes h-dimeric aggregates through dipole-dipole *** triphenylethylene or diphenylamine groups were added to this h-dimeric *** was done to enhance intramolecular motions for heat generation and also to extend conjugation,which redshifted the optical absorption and balanced the blue-shift induced by *** this technique,an organic PTA with NIR-II absorption was developed,and its nanoparticle achieved a remarkable PCE of 86.3% under 1,064 nm laser *** transient absorption spectroscopy and quantum mechanical calculations demonstrated the accelerated internal conversion process in NIR-II PTAs for rapid heat *** NSQs nanoparticles exhibit superior photothermal therapeutic properties for in vivo photoacoustic imaging-guided PTT,demonstrating the potential of bottom-up design to enable synergistic engineering strategies towards efficient phototheranostic agents.

g-C_(3)N_(4)emerges as a promising metal-free semiconductor photocatalyst due to its cost-effectiveness,facile synthesis,suitable visible light response,and robust thermal ***,its practical application in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(hER)is impeded by rapid carrier recombination and limited light absorption *** this study,we successfully develop a novel g-C_(3)N_(4)-based step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunction comprising two-dimensional(2D)sulfur-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)nanosheets(SCN)and one-dimensional(1D)FeCo_(2)O_(4)nanorods(FeCo_(2)O_(4)),demonstrating enhanced photocatalytic hER *** engineered SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)S-scheme heterojunction features a well-defined 2D/1D heterogeneous interface facilitating directed interfacial electron transfer from FeCo_(2)O_(4)to SCN,driven by the lower Fermi level of SCN compared to FeCo_(2)O_(4).This establishment of electron-interacting 2D/1D S-scheme heterojunction not only facilitates the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers,but also enhances visible-light absorption and mitigates electron-hole pair *** structure analysis and density functional theory calculations corroborate that the carrier migration in the SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)photocatalyst adheres to a typical S-scheme heterojunction mechanism,effectively retaining highly reactive photogenerated ***,the optimized SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)heterojunction exhibits a substantially high hydrogen production rate of 6303.5μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)under visible light excitation,which is 2.4 times higher than that of the ***,the conjecture of the S-scheme mechanism is confirmed by in situ xPS *** 2D/1D S-scheme heterojunction established in this study provides valuable insights into the development of high-efficiency carbon-based catalysts for diverse energy conversion and storage applications.

Garnet solid electrolytes are one of the most promising electrolytes for solid-state ***,Li_(2)CO_(3) is a critical issue that hinders the practical application of garnet-based solid-state lithium-ion *** are two sources of Li_(2)CO_(3) *** main one is the aging of garnet electrolytes in the *** electrolytes can react with h_(2)O and CO_(2) in the air to form Li_(2)CO_(3),which reduces ion conductivity,increases electrode/garnet electrolyte interface resistance,and deteriorates the electrochemical performance of the *** strategies,such as elemental doping,grain boundary manipulation,and interface engineering,have been suggested to address these *** other is the passivation layer(Li_(2)CO_(3),Li_3N,LiOh,Li_(2)O) formed on the surface of the lithium foil after long-term storage,which is ignored by most *** better understand the current strategies and future trends to address the Li_(2)CO_(3) problem,this perspective provides a systematic review of journals published in this field from 2020-2023.

Performance and mechanism of La-Fe metal-organic framework as a highly efficient adsorbent for fluoride removal from mine water

Water fluoride pollution has caused non-negligible harm to the environment and humans,and thus it is crucial to find a suitable treatment *** this study,La-Fe@PTA adsorbent was synthesized for the defluoridation of mine *** results showed that the optimum conditions for defluoridation by La-Fe@PTA were p h close to 7.0,the initial F-concentration of 10 mg/L,the dosage of 0.5 g/L and the adsorption time of 240 *** with SO_4^(2-),Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-),Ca^(2+)and Mg^(2+),CO_(3)^(2-)and hCO_(3)^(-)presented severer inhibition on fluoride uptake by La-Fe@*** adsorption process fits well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich model,and the maximum adsorption capacity of Langmuir model was 95 mg/***-bed adsorption results indicated that fluoride in practical fluorinated mine water could be effectively removed from 3.6 mg/L to less than 1.5 mg/L within130 bed volume(BV)by using 1.5 g La-Fe@***,the adsorbent still had good adsorption capacity after regeneration,which confirms the great application potential of La-Fe@PTA as a fluoride ion *** mechanism analysis showed that La-Fe@PTA adsorption of fluorine ions is a physicochemical reaction driven by electrostatic attraction and ion exchange.

Background:Although overnight fasting is recommended prior to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),the benefits and safety of high-carbohydrate fluid diet(CFD)intake 2 h before ERCP remain *** study aimed to analyze whether high-CFD intake 2 h before ERCP can be safe and accelerate patients’***:This prospective,multicenter,randomized controlled trial involved 15 tertiary ERCP centers.A total of 1330 patients were randomized into CFD group(n=665)and fasting group(n=665).The CFD group received 400 mL of maltodextrin orally 2 h before ERCP,while the control group abstained from food/water overnight(>6 h)before *** ERCP procedures were performed using deep sedation with intravenous *** investigators were blinded but not the *** primary outcomes included postoperative fatigue and abdominal pain score,and the secondary outcomes included complications and changes in metabolic *** outcomes were analyzed according to a modified intention-to-treat ***:The post-ERCP fatigue scores were significantly lower at 4 h(4.1±2.6 vs.4.8±2.8,t=4.23,Ph(2.4±2.1 vs.3.4±2.4,t=7.94,Phe CFD group,with least-squares mean differences of 0.48(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.26-0.71,Ph pain scores(2.1±1.7 vs.2.2±1.7,t=2.60,P=0.009,with a least-squares mean difference of 0.21[95%CI:0.05-0.37])and positive urine ketone levels(7.7%[39/509]vs.15.4%[82/533],χ^(2)=15.13,Phe CFD *** CFD group had significantly less cholangitis(2.1%[13/634]vs.4.0%[26/658],χ^(2)=3.99,P=0.046)but not pancreatitis(5.5%[35/634]vs.6.5%[43/658],χ^(2)=0.59,P=0.444).Subgroup analysis revealed that CFD reduced the incidence of complications in patients with native papilla(odds ratio[OR]:0.61,95%CI:0.39-0.95,P=0.028)in the multivariable ***:Ingesting 400 mL of CFD 2 h before ERCP is safe,with a reduction in post-ERCP fatigue,
