Plant migration and gene flow from genetically modified or exotic trees to nearby lands or by crossing with wild relatives is a major public and regulatory *** genetic strategies exist to mitigate potential gene flow;however,the long delay in onset of flow-ering is a severe constraint to research *** used heat-induced FT overexpression to speed assessment of the expected floral phenotypes after CrISPr knockout of poplar homologs of the key floral genes,LEAFY and *** selected events with previously characterized CrISPr-Cas9 induced biallelic changes then re-transformed them with the Arabidopsis thaliana FLOWErING LOCUS T(AtFT)gene under control of either a strong constitutive promoter or a heat-inducible *** successfully obtained flowering in both a male and female clone of poplar,observing a wide range of inflorescence and floral forms among flowers,ramets,and insertion ***,flowers obtained from the selected LFY and AG targeted events were consistent with what would be predicted for loss-of-function of these ***-targeted events showed small catkins with leaf-like organs,AG-targeted events had nested floral organs consistent with reduction in floral determinacy and absence of well-formed carpels or *** findings demonstrate the great developmental plasticity of Populus flowers during genetically accelerated flowering,which may be of horticultural *** also provide an informative early view of floral phenotypes and apparent sterility from knockouts of both these gene targets.

We have studied infrared spectral hole burning of the N-D stretching bands of Nh3D+ in salt [(Nh4)2Co0.25Ni0.75 (h2O)6(SO4)2] at 10K. We have observed that the spectral line broadening occurred on a logarithmic timescale, which is consistent with the theoretical prediction of a standard two-level system. The temperature of 10K is also beyond the temperature limit in previous studies on spectral diffusion.

Large quantities of organic by-products are generated by the sugarcane industry during sugar extraction *** by-products may be used as soil amendments to improve soil quality,as nutrient leaching is common in mineral soils of Florida in USA due to their sandy texture and frequent rain events.A soil column study was designed to evaluate the effects of bagasse application at 85 t ha^(-1) of fresh bagasse,170 t ha^(-1) of fresh bagasse,and 170 t ha^(-1) of fresh bagasse+nitrogen(N)on the leaching potential of carbon(C),N,phosphorus(P),and potassium(K).Bagasse was incorporated within the topsoil(0-15 cm)in outdoor soil columns exposed to natural conditions,with periodical irrigation during the *** approximately 57 weeks,the distributions of C,N,P,and K were evaluated at three soil depths(i.e.,0-15,15-30,and 30-53 cm)within the soil *** organic C(TOC),N,and P in leachates decreased significantly from the soils amended with bagasse compared with the control with no bagasse and no *** on K content changes in the columns,bagasse could also be utilized as a potential source of K for ***,application of bagasse as a soil amendment might be an effective way to sustainably reutilize organic by-products while reducing concerns regarding major nutrients entering groundwater *** results of this study could assist in developing nutrient management plans of using sugarcane bagasse as a potential soil amendment in mineral soils.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

甲状腺良性疾病,尤其是甲状腺功能亢进症(简称甲亢)和甲状腺功能减退症(简称甲减),是最常见的内分泌疾病。甲亢常见的病因是自身免疫性甲亢(格雷夫斯病,即GD)、毒性多结节性甲状腺肿(TMNG)、毒性甲状腺腺瘤(TAs);其他少见病因包括破坏性甲状腺炎(胺碘酮导致的甲状腺功能异常)和人为甲亢。GD主要由促甲状腺激素受体抗体(TrAb)引起;TMNG和TAs由体细胞功能激活获得突变引起。甲亢患者典型的实验室表现为促甲状腺激素(TSh)降低,游离三碘甲状腺原氨酸(FT3)和游离甲状腺素(FT4)升高,以及GD患者TSh受体自身抗体升高。超声检查主要用于明确甲状腺大小、血供以及甲状腺结节的位置、大小、数目及影像特征。甲状腺超声和实验室检查是明确甲亢病因的一线诊断方法。甲状腺显像(^(131)I或99TcmO4-甲状腺显像)可用于鉴别不同类型的甲亢,为^(131)I治疗提供策略指导。甲状腺显像可帮助鉴别GD、TMNG、TAs和破坏性甲状腺炎。^(99)Tc^(m)O_(4)^(-)可鉴别胺碘酮导致的1型和2型甲亢。测定甲状腺摄碘率(rAIU)有助于明确甲亢^(131)I治疗的放射性活度。治疗甲亢的方案主要包括抗甲状腺药物(ATD)治疗、手术或^(131)I治疗。当患者ATD治疗失败、或有手术治疗禁忌或拒绝手术,可以考虑^(131)I治疗。对于TMNG或TAs患者,^(131)I治疗目的在于恢复正常甲状腺功能。对于GD患者,^(131)I治疗的目的在于诱发甲减,这种状态易通过口服甲状腺激素替代疗法治疗。可根据甲状腺大小和rAIU的计算剂量法指导^(131)I治疗的放射性活度。^(131)I治疗的早期毒性及不良反应(甲状腺床区轻微疼痛)可通过非甾体抗炎药来处理;晚期毒性及不良反应主要是甲减和辐射诱导的恶性肿瘤(发生率极低)。
