Advances in laser spectroscopy have enabled many scientific breakthroughs in physics, chemistry,biology, and astronomy. Optical frequency combs pushed measurement limits with ultrahigh-frequency accuracy and fast-measurement speed, while tunable-diode-laser spectroscopy is used in scenarios that require high power and continuous spectral coverage. Despite these advantages of tunable-diode-laser spectroscopy, it is challenging to precisely determine the instantaneous laser frequency because of fluctuations in the scan speed. here, we demonstrate a simple spectroscopy scheme with a frequencymodulated diode laser that references the laser on-the-fly to a fiber cavity. The fiber cavity's free spectral range is on-the-fly calibrated with sub-10-hz frequency precision. We achieve a relative precision of the laser frequency of 2 × 10-8for an 11-Thz frequency range at a measurement speed of 1 Thz∕s. This is an improvement of more than 2 orders of magnitude compared to existing diode-laser-spectroscopy *** scheme provides precise frequency calibration markers, while simultaneously tracking the instantaneous scan speed of the laser. We demonstrate the versatility of our method through various applications, including dispersion measurement of a fiber, ultrahigh-Q microresonators, and spectroscopy of a hydrogen fluoride gas cell. The simplicity, robustness, and low cost of this spectroscopy scheme are valuable for out-of-the-lab applications like lidar and environmental monitoring.

This study aims to quantify the susceptibility of granular materials used in pavements to changes in moisture content and propose a correlation model to incorporate this susceptibility into seasonal *** fines content and the percentage of fractured coarse aggregates were identified as direct indicators of the resilient modulus susceptibility to changes in water *** results showed that the percentage of fractured coarse aggregates particles(FR)has a more significant impact on the resilient modulus(Er)of crushed granular materials used in pavement construction than the combined indicator of the fines content and sample volumetrics(nf).Crushed granular materials with a higher percentage of fractured coarse aggregates are relatively insensitive to changes in the degree of saturation,but become more sensitive as the fine fraction porosity *** adjusted model was proposed based on the existing formulation,but considers a complex parameter to describe and adjust the sensitivity of base granular materials to variations in moisture content with respect to fabrication charac-teristics,fines content and volumetric *** model shows that the variation of Er values is below10%for fully crushed granular ***,it reaches approximately±12%for materials with 75%of crushed coarse aggregates andþ40%and-25%for materials with FR=50%.This model could help select good ag-gregates characteristics and adjust grain-size distribution for environments where significant moisture content variations can occur in the pavement system,such as in the Province of Quebec(Canada).As it is based on pa-rameters that can be easily determined or estimated,it also represents a valuable tool for detailed design and analysis that can consider material characteristics.

Oral cancer (OC) is the most common form of head and neck cancer. Despite the high incidence and unfavourable patient outcomes, currently, there are no biomarkers for the early detection of OC. This study aims to discover, develop, and validate a novel saliva-based microRNA signature for early diagnosis and prediction of OC risk in oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMD).The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) miRNA sequencing data and small RNA sequencing data of saliva samples were used to discover differentially expressed miRNAs. Identified miRNAs were validated in saliva samples of OC (n=50), OPMD (n=52), and controls(n=60) using quantitative real-time PCR. Eight differentially expressed miRNAs (miR-7-5p, miR-10b-5p, miR-182-5p, miR-215-5p,miR-431-5p, miR-486-3p, miR-3614-5p, and miR-4707-3p) were identified in the discovery phase and were validated. The efficiency of our eight-miRNA signature to discriminate OC and controls was:area under curve (AUC):0.954, sensitivity:86%, specificity:90%,positive predictive value (PPV):87.8%and negative predictive value (NPV):88.5%whereas between OC and OPMD was:AUC:0.911,sensitivity:90%, specificity:82.7%, PPV:74.2%and NPV:89.6%. We have developed a risk probability score to predict the presence or risk of OC in OPMD patients. We established a salivary miRNA signature that can aid in diagnosing and predicting OC,revolutionising the management of patients with OPMD. Together, our results shed new light on the management of OC by salivary miRNAs to the clinical utility of using miRNAs derived from saliva samples.

We propose and investigate a methodology based on convolved electric and magnetic currents for the generation of multi-band responses over a space-shared radiating ***,a single wideband antenna operation principle based on inter-leaved dipole and slot modes is studied and analyzed using full-wave simulations followed by a qualitative time domain ***,a 2×2 dual-band radiating unit is conceived and developed by closely arranging single wideband *** this case,multimode resonances are generated in a lower frequency band by a proper convolving and coupling of the magnetic and electric currents realized in the gaps between the antennas and on the surface of the antennas,*** methodology can be deployed repeatedly to build up a self-scalable topology by reusing the electromagnetically(EM)connected radiating surfaces and gaps be-tween the radiating *** to the efficient reuse of the electromagnetic region for the development of multiband radiation,a high aperture-reuse efficiency is ***,as a proof of concept,a 2×4 dual-band array operating in Ku-and Ka-bands is devel-oped and fabricated by a linear arrangement of the two developed radiating *** measurement results show that the proposed antenna array provides impedance and gain bandwidths of 30%and 25.4%in the Ku-band and 10.65%and 8.52%in the Ka-band,respectively.

The influence of the mean plane strain on the turbulence transportation is investigated by large eddy simulation (LES) in the shearless turbulence mixing layer. It is found that the mean strains enhance the turbulent fluctuations in the mixing region. Compression in the inhomogeneous direction can greatly increase the transport of turbulent kinetic energy by triple correlation terms, while stretching in the inhomogeneous direction decreases the turbulence transportation. The gradient diffusion models for turbulent transportation are evaluated and it is found that the inter-mittency consideration can improve the prediction ability of the gradient-type models for the triple correlation terms.

Background: Understanding willingness to undergo pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and the factors associated with poor uptake of PFTs is crucial for improving early detection and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This study aimed to understand willingness to undergo PFTs among high-risk populations and identify any barriers that may contribute to low uptake of ***: We collected data from participants in the "happy Breathing Program" in China. Participants who did not follow physicians’ recommendations to undergo PFTs were invited to complete a survey regarding their willingness to undergo PFTs and their reasons for not undergoing PFTs. We estimated the proportion of participants who were willing to undergo PFTs and examined the various reasons for participants to not undergo PFTs. We conducted univariable and multivariable logistic regressions to analyze the impact of individual-level factors on willingness to undergo ***: A total of 8475 participants who had completed the survey on willingness to undergo PFTs were included in this study. Out of these participants, 7660 (90.4%) were willing to undergo PFTs. Among those who were willing to undergo PFTs but actually did not, the main reasons for not doing so were geographical inaccessibility (n = 3304, 43.1%) and a lack of trust in primary healthcare institutions (n = 2809, 36.7%). Among the 815 participants who were unwilling to undergo PFTs, over half (n = 447, 54.8%) believed that they did not have health problems and would only consider PFTs when they felt unwell. In the multivariable regression, individuals who were ≤54 years old, residing in rural townships, with a secondary educational level, with medical reimbursement, still working, with occupational exposure to dust, and aware of the abbreviation "COPD" were more willing to undergo ***: Willingness to undergo PFTs was high among high-risk populations. The antiretroviral treatment (ART) has significantly reduced the number of new hIV/AIDS infections and related deaths. however, cases of immunovirological discordance (IVD) are found in various locations. The objective of this study was to determine the profile of People living with hIV (PLhIV) with IVD and to identify associated factors. We conducted a cross-sectional study based on the records of PLhIV under ART for at least 6 months, followed at hpital de Jour Donka from 2015 to 2017, and having both viral load (CV) and CD4 T-cell count. Prevalence of IVD was 34.57%, with 23.87% for immunological discordance (ID) and 10.7% for virological discordance (VD). Females were predominant (66.26%), and male gender influenced IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.006) and was associated with VD (p = 0.007). The average age was 38.77 11.30 years. PLhIV were classified at WhO stages 3 and 4 (86.01%). The median initial haemoglobin level was 11.5 g/L [3.2 - 12]. The mean initial CD4 T-cell count was 272.84 cells/mm3 201.6. The median initial viral load (VL) was 147,337 copies/mL [1092 - 31,675,000]. The initial CD4 T-cell count 3 was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.0009) and correlated with ID (p = 0.000). Prurigo was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.003). Cerebral toxoplasmosis was not associated with IVD but was associated with ID (p = 0.04). This study allowed us to describe the profile of PLhIV with IVD. The main associated factors were male gender, initial CD4 T-cell count 3, toxoplasmosis, prurigo, and herpes zoster.
