Assessment of plant diversity of endemic species of the Saharo-Arabian region in Egypt

Savanna, semi-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the Saharo-Arabian region, which includes morocco, mauretania, al.eria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Pal.stine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, southern jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the Sudano-Zambezian region belonging to the Pal.otropical.Kingdom and the mediterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the holarctic Kingdom, share a large portion of their flora with the Saharo-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgment of the region's global.importance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the Saharo-Arabian endemics is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global.and the national.scal.s. Therefore, the present study aims at screening and verifying the Saharo-Arabian endemic plants and determining the phytogeographical.distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. hence, a preliminary list of 429 Saharo-Arabian endemic plants in Egypt was compiled from the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the Saharo-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this number to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 families. Regarding the national.geographic distribution, South Sinai is the richest region with 83 endemic species compared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Isthmic Desert(the middle of Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regional.subzone(SS1) distributes al. the 126 endemic species, Arabian regional.subzone(SS2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-Sindian subzone(SS3) distributes only 14 endemics. The aim of this research is to demonstrate a novel scheme for approximating the Riemann-Liouville fractional.integral.*** would be achieved by first establishing a fractional.order version of the 2-point Trapezoidal.rule and then by proposing another fractional.order version of the(n+1)-composite Trapezoidal.*** particular,the so-cal.ed divided-difference formula is typical.y employed to derive the 2-point Trapezoidal.rule,which has accordingly been used to derive a more accurate fractional.order formula cal.ed the(n+1)-composite Trapezoidal.***,in order to increase the accuracy of the proposed approximations by reducing the true errors,we incorporate the so-cal.ed Romberg integration,which is an extrapolation formula of the Trapezoidal.rule for integration,into our proposed *** numerical.examples are provided and compared with a modern definition of the Riemann-Liouville fractional.integral.operator to illustrate the efficacy of our scheme.

Free vibration and buckling anal.sis of polymeric composite beams reinforced by functional.y graded bamboo fbers

Natural.fibers have been extensively researched as reinforcement material. in polymers on account of their environmental.and economic advantages in comparison with synthetic fibers in the recent *** fibers are renowned for their good mechanical.properties,abundance,and short cycle *** beams are one of the fundamental.structural.components and are susceptible to mechanical.loads in engineering applications,this paper performs a study on the free vibration and buckling responses of bamboo fiber reinforced composite(BFRC)beams on the elastic *** different functional.y graded(FG)layouts and a uniform one are the considered distributions for unidirectional.long bamboo fibers across the *** elastic properties of the composite are determined with the law of *** hamilton’s principle,the governing equations of motion are *** general.zed differential.quadrature method(GDQm)is then applied to the equations to obtain the *** achieved outcomes exhibit that the natural.frequency and buckling load val.es vary as the fiber volume fractions and distributions,elastic foundation stiffness val.es,and boundary conditions(BCs)and slenderness ratio of the beam ***,a comparative study is conducted between the derived anal.sis outcomes for BFRC and homogenous polymer beams to examine the effectiveness of bamboo fibers as reinforcement material.,demonstrating the significant enhancements in both vibration and buckling responses,with the exception of natural.frequencies for cantilever beams on the Pasternak foundation with the FG-◇fiber ***,the obtained anal.sis results of BFRC beams are al.o compared with those for carbon nanotube reinforced composite(CNTRC)beams found in the literature,indicating that the buckling loads and natural.frequencies of BFRC beams are lower than those of CNTRC beams.

Greatly enhanced corrosion/wear resistances of epoxy coating for mg al.oy through a synergistic effect between functional.zed graphene and insulated blocking layer

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of mg al.oys seriously limit their potential.applications in various *** conventional.epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a double-layer epoxy composite coating on mg al.oy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assembly *** outer layer is functional.zed graphene(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can be homogeneously dispersed within the epoxy matrix to fill the intrinsic defects and improve the barrier *** Ce film connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower than that of bare mg al.oy,and the wear rate is decreased by~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attributed to the labyrinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the obstruction of gal.anic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and blocking layer exhibits great potential.in real.zing the improvement of multi-functional.integration,which will open up a new avenue for the development of novel composite protection coatings of mg al.oys.

Convexification of hybrid AC-DC Optimal.Power Flow with Line-Commutated Converters

Line-commutated converter (LCC)-based high-voltage DC (hVDC) systems have been integrated with bulk AC power grids for interregional.transmission of renewable power. The nonlinear LCC model brings additional.nonconvexity to optimal.power flow (OPF) of hybrid AC-DC power grids. A convexification method for the LCC station model could address such nonconvexity but has rarely been discussed. We devise an equival.nt reformulation for classical.LCC station models that facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for the OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We al.o propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with its proof. Equival.nce of the proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical.simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a global.y optimal.solution of the original.OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.
